Wrong. Wax ring needs to go between the old flange and new seal, and you’re likely creating a gap keeping that floating white flange piece in there. You shouldn’t need that with this kit.
Behind times, but I hope you've not had to learn the hard way about keeping those holes covered. It's not fun fishing your bits, wrenches, and other assorted debris out of your waste lines.
Additional comment. This particular version = 10672 comes with an UPPER opening of 2 1/2 inch diameter. Whereas if your toilet downspout has a diameter of 3.5 inches it is NOT going to work all that well
Gotta put the wax ring between the Hydroseat and the old flange for a seal. No wax ring between Hydroseat and toilet downspout. It shows this on the side of the box, but it's not super clear.
How did it hold up? I had to shim my toilet after installation as it wasn’t even with the floor I think you were supposed to put a wax ring before the flange
Great video. Head’s up. The outer fastening holes for wood floor. The center holes you drill right into old flange. I had to repair broken flange cement floor that’s tiled. Got tapcons (lifesaver) and drilled through flange, cement and fastened center screw holes. Still makes me nervous idea of no ring on top of fix, but no leaks, smell. This thing takes a lot of aggravation and time messing with broken flange.
@@greendesert69 He assumed the soil would fall under gravity, but unless the drain pipe is much larger than the flange (with no flow restrictions) the unsealed flange will see water and leak. And use all four mounting screws; a toilet can eventually overload 2 screws in the wrong places, with leaking.
just installed one of these. IMPORTANT. Pickup a wax ring without a collar and put it around the existing flange before bolting this down. I made the mistake of putting a wax ring down over it. This is incorrect. Back to Home Depot!

One toilet anchor was stripped out at the base flange. Could use an anchor that screws into floor; or replace the flange that's cemented to the waste pipe. Since there is room for another flange might use a press-in flange on top of busted flange but tied into floor; or place "seal" on busted flange then insert a normal 3" flange tied into floor.
