I'm no expert when it comes to working on engines. Your videos are just what I need to help me get my tractor in better working order. Thank you from Ontario.
Greatvideo....I know how hard it is to do the job let alone with a camera in the other hand. thanks alot you put me in the picture and saved me a lot of time.
@@FarmDad Same here. I have a US version MF135 vineyard model, Perkins diesel. I bought it in North East PA, Concord grape country over 20 years ago... now I use it in my own vineyard in NE Ohio.
@@FarmDad I went on your vid after a search pulled you up. I have a 1990 Massey 1045, with the tach bounce, seems to be running fine but my reading on the tach is twice what it should be, and it sounds as if a fan is running at idle. When I turn the tractor off I get a squeal! I think it’s the tach, 🤷♂️
any idea on a 61 mf 35 with the continental 4cyl gas engine? converted to a 12v alternator. Cant seem to find cable plug at the engine side. my cable was missing when I got it.
I have a z134 I believ gas continental engine. The tack cable runs out of the back of the generator. I’m unsure if my tech is original or not but the cable seems to be about 1’ longer than it needs to be. But it works.
Nice work Dad, that JB Weld might not release the cable very easy when it comes time to repair it properly though... Wonder if dipping the end in melted wax, or wrapping it with teflon tape would help it release better ? Maybe it will all hold up so long you will never need to find out : ]
I can't say how long it'll last but mine hasn't failed yet. You might get by without replacing the seal if you get yours apart with no damage and it looks good.
@@FarmDad well i hope that not to much is damged as it is broken since around 30 years. My father said he has brought it there to an specialist who fixed it but soon after that it broke again so he let it as it was. and the tractor has made now around 10000 hours (it is an mf 135)
The square end of the cable goes into a square end on that drive adapter. Since the drive adapter on mine was round instead of square, it didn't turn the cable when the engine was running, so the tach didn't work. The jb weld attached the end of the cable to the drive adapter so that it would turn when the cam turns. That's what fixed it.
