God bless people like you. One search, one solution. Didn't even need to buy the repair kit because it was just the valve that was out of alignment. Thank you thank you!

As an HVAC tech I've learned one of the most important aspects of repairing a problem is understanding how a specific component works within the system. I like to see that in these type of repair videos, You helped with that by explaining how the anti-siphon component in the faucet operates... Nicely done.

This video really helped me. One of my outdoor faucets leaked so badly that I had just avoided using it for the three years I've lived here. I watched five videos on fixing a leaking anti-siphon valve, but none of the valves in the videos were the same type as mine and the parts in their valves were different from the parts in my valve. I had not been able to find parts for my NIBCO 90 valve. But then I watched this video and at 3:50 the bottom left of the parts card you show says, "Also fits NIBCO 90 valves." I bought the same package, discarded my old deteriorated parts, and installed the new parts. What a simple repair! It works great now. Thank you!

This was terrific. I had a big leak from the anti-siphon and I had no idea what the heck it was let alone how to fix it. We were getting ready to call a plumber. Saw your video and took the anti-siphon off and found the plastic pieces were in great shape but the O-ring was split. We had a supply of varies sized O-rings and found the perfect fit. Within 10 minutes I had a working outside faucet with no leak. THANK YOU!!!!

There were 2 replacement options at my Home Depot in Canada: 1392/1393 series or 1104 series. (I got both cuz they were less than $5 ea) The 1392/1393 was right in my situation. 1104 has a slightly larger diameter, so I'll return it. Six years later and your video is still helping people - Thanks for the quick DIY solution! 👍

Very helpful video. I thought we might have to replace both of our outdoor faucets. Instead, I fixed them for pennies, in minutes, with this info. One faucet just needed a new stem washer (had been leaking from under the handle). The other needed both an O-ring and a new 00 Beveled Faucet Washer, 1/2" O.D. Danco Stock No. 35090B (had been leaking from the anti syphon valve). Total cost: $1.50. Saved me at least a hundred dollars. Much appreciated. Thank you for sharing!

I watched the video about the shark bite spigot last night and I was about to replace my spigot. But something told me that the leak maybe fixable. Thanks very much, Scott. Thank you! I think my issue was a lot of hard water build-up, and I wasn't able to get the plastic piece unscrewed. Thanks so much for saving me the trouble and money of calling a plumber!

I too, was happy to come across this video. Always thought that it required shutting off the " main" etc. Well today I picked up the repair kit at Lowes. Came home and excitedly went to work. Went to my stash of assorted rings that I purchased from Harbor Freight many moons ago....found one....slapped it on and Voila! fixed.

Thank you for posting this, I made the mistake of leaving a hose attached during winter and it broke this when water froze. So make sure you keep your hose off in the winter :) Went to use the hose and water was pouring out of the top. I just replaced the entire hose faucet a year ago because an old hose was seized on it. I am happy to know its an easy fix and I don't have to go through all that again for this haha.

Wow thank you so much. You explained the components very well. Like I was told, I was very careful when I unscrewed the white part (I needed vice grips), and voila, like someone else, I discovered that the black disc washer was off center., so not sealing properly. Easy fix, but I had to screw the white part back on quite tightly. I did look around on Amazon for the part just in case, and discovered that there were a number of folks who said that the part did not fit. There are a couple of different models with not very clear measurements....

I found a sticker that says "RU-vid Certified Mechanic." Thankyou for your help. I disassembled the top portion and debris came out. I didn't think about trying to reassemble it right away to see if that fixed the problem. That's the difference between an experienced mechanic and someone like me. Instead I ordered the parts for all four faucets. And then I put the plunger in upside down. Once I figured it all out and put it in the correct way it turns out that the debris were the problem and now it's working fine. I ordered parts for the future I guess.

Wife noticed the leaking vacuum breaker (yeah fellas, she noticed a problem with the vacuum. Go figure 😂). So I popped the cap, and noticed the gasket was partially dislodged, but otherwise in good repair. So, following the directions here, I removed the parts, flushed the seat, replaced all parts in their correct location and orientation, and closed it back up. Works like new. Not only saved a call to a repairman, it saved me a trip to Lowes (for now, at least). Keep the videos coming. This was simple to do and easy to follow. You've earned a subscriber and a like 👍🏻

Such a simple fix but I’ve used this video 2 years in a row. Showing how the plunger works was helpful and also knowing that I don’t have to turn off the water main was good. Wish I would have remembered that one from last year. Had a Y-splitter on my hose Bibb and with the diverted valves turned off, water shot up out of the cap and blew the plunger and another small part into oblivion. Pro tip: take off any diverters or turn them to the open position lol.

Tighten the packing nut. If that does not fix the second leak you can remove the packing nut. The packing is a rubber grommet that seals the valve stem. You can replace it. Either buy a kit with the grommet or better take a couple feet of teflon tape and double it over and role it up into a string. Wrap it around the stem and reassemble. Saw Richard do this on "Ask this old house".

Thanks! I have this type of faucet and it is leaking from the top! So annoying! I started a vegetable garden with soaker hoses to minimize water usage and seeing water pour down from the top defeats the purpose of using soaker hoses to minimize my water usage. That drip can add up to a lot of wasted water. What clued me in was seeing the concrete under the hose completely soaked and after wrapping the faucet with nylon tape I saw the water dripping from the top of the anti-siphon valve.

This is an excellent do it yourself clip. I did wonder about that additional water leakage at the valve and you acknowledged it and will address. Thanks

I have to share this funny story. I went to Lowe’s looking for parts to repair my outdoor faucets after searching the plumbing aisle for a while I bumped into a friendly fellow who looked it up on his phone and then walked me 17 miles to the outdoor landscaping area because he thought I was looking for a hose, when I explained a little further that I was looking for a hose faucet repair kit not a hose. He escorted me to customer service. They said I should look in the plumbing aisle, which of course was 15 Isles back in the other direction, no escort, no assistance and no hose Bibb Repair kits were to be found. I guess I should’ve gone to Home Depot, where they seem to be a lot more knowledgeable, Or I’ll try Menards. Thanks for this video video though. It’s very helpful.

Great video. Thanks for the guidance and instruction. This fixed my issue. The plastic part was cracked, plunger mechanism was otherwise fine. Need new kit for small cost. Saved money on plumber. 👏

Thanks for explanation- in my case it was broken seal ring (aged out) on main plastic piece. Piece of teflon tape fixed that.

Just fixed my leaky faucet using this repair kit. And looks like they also updated the design a bit , the insert is now an enclosed piece with the stopper contained inside it, and the bottom of it has some mesh to let the water flow. Now I can keep my automatic water timer attached to the faucet.

I have this exact valve and couldn't figure out how to get the old part off. Thanks! BTW, The Anti-Siphon has nothing to do with the clean water supply! It's simply an air bleeder so your hoses can drain. The only yhing that would prevent back flow is a back flow check valve feeding the spigot inside the house!
