This video shows one person that I helped to improve a 'wonky' or canted smile. Here we used high quality porcelain veneers, and laser gum contouring to achieve the results.
I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve seen someone with a similar issue. I’m almost to tears knowing I’m not alone and learning more about it. I remember looking at younger photos and knowing I wasn’t always like this. Sad that no one could help me but I hope this is a step in remedying my issue ): !!!
Hello, if anyone else found this comment and felt the same way, I have more info! I’ve been watching Brett Maverick and he has a lot of videos on mewing I’ve started doing it and honestly, idk if I’m crazy ....but I feel like somehow I’ve already started seeing some differences The side of my mouth that showed more gums is already showing less ?? Anyone have experiences with this ?
Celeste Essel I tried to find the method you’re talking about but I cannot. Can you be more specific with the name of the method or explain what you do that is benefiting this wonky smile? I can’t look myself in the mirror any more
when I’m recording a video. i really hate when I talk. I got this wonky smile and I don’t like my teeth. Does people notice it? Or it’s just when we do recording videos. ???
My mom always talks about how me teeth are perfect, but it’s my crooked smile that makes me insecure, and I have a weird mole next to my nose that is in the smile line and it’s skin colored but noticeable when I smile I hate it
Good piece of aesthetic dentistry . Lot to learn from this presentation. Pity the final photo missed covering the natural look of the teeth in the makeover that we got to see in the penultimate one . Nice smile design. Thanks for the guidance.
Wow i also have a wonky smile. I was in a car accident, broke my jaw & cause my right side of my face was injured so when i smile the right side doesn't pull upward like left b/c left side kind of "smashed"...Anyhow smile is "crooked" and my going to follow up with my dentist now that i have seen your AMAZING video!
i don't kno if i should call my smile a wonky one cuz it's not like one side is opening too much but one side is NOT opening like it supposed to. more like i don't have control over one side of my lower lip. yeah that's exactly it.
It’s the same issue with me I thought it was just my lip being uneven, I even had braces & recently took them off I’ve noticed my right side of my teeth are longer and my row of teeth are slightly shifted to the left. It’s so sad my smile (without teeth) are uneven, left side of my face I have a curved smile point upwards and the right is a straight point smile 😫
@@supriyasundriyal6895 I was thinking about fillers to even it out but I decided to keep it all natural, I’ll just try to get used to it and work on my teeth instead😁
So my smile looks perfect when i look at the mirror but in photos no which is what people see .. it's making me insecure at the point that i cry , when i tell others about how i feel about it they start laughing . It's literally making me ugly i would do anything to fix it but I'm a broke teenager 💔
Same! Also, my face is assymetrical. My right side is puffier and that my smile is assymetrical as well. I started loving it and now I can see my own beauty. But, yeah, here I am again in this video to see if I can do something for it
@@dhruvadhanush9468 i dont' know but right now, what I am doing is I am chewing on the other side of my mouth. Because for several years, I have been chewing on my right side only so now only left side. I also sleep on right side only before but now I started sleeping on my left side. I am doing all things opposite to what I did before. I think there will be a minimal change if I continue to do it.
Mine was because of my extra toorh Ive had when I was young and my parents didn't take me to the dentist. now im insecure with my face. my upper jaw is tilted. I dont know tho if Brace can fix it.
Hi so i’ve had brances for like 6 months before i had braces my teeth were straight but when i got them(i got the only up) my teeth are like stairs and my teeth in down jawline they are so straight. Can someone please help me and tell me if braces work like this because it changed even my jawline i cant see myself like others do.And i cant smile because of my teeth
I seeking for help with this issue too. it terribly look awkward when i smile for many years. it happened when my dentist canted my smile after installing a bridging and crown on the right side, and told me there's nothing he can do to restore it. I've been visiting many dental clinic but find no good solution and affordable. sad *9999
Hi I think the gentleman's got tmj, his jaw joint or overworked muscles. I have the same smile, I'm waiting for my splint, to even out my bottom jaw, then back in braces. A t-scan shows everything.
So I used to have a normal smile and stuff but then my face changed and now I look uglier and when I smilie it looks fake and my cheeks look more chubby like idk what happened but I just want the face I litteraly had like a year ago did I do something wrong or is it puberty like what is it? I lost my rotainers like 2 years ago maybe that’s why idk
When the top lip hikes up like that because the muscle is stronger on that side, going to a place that does botox and fillers (like a medispa) is one way to address that. Putting a shot of botox in that higher lip will relax the tight muscle and make both lips even INSTANTLY. But there were issues with the teeth and gums that DID need addressing, so it was good to fix those things. However, I wouldn’t change symmetrical teeth to match an asymmetrical smile - instead there are ways to correct the smile/lips/muscles.
Guyss just have patience and be determined towards making it come truee , i have transformed my face in just 6 months, my one side of the face was more puffy, my eyes were asymmetrical and also my uneven lips and smile they all changed and now i look like my old self now which was before this facial asymmetry. 🎉🎉☺
I've been applying back pressure on my molars equally.. since a wonky smile just puts pressure on one side. Along with mewing.. I'll let you know if I have seen any improvements 😀😃
@@yoMadness I got invisalign. But it didn't fully fix the wonky smile as it could be a jaw issue. Such as eating with one side of the mouth too often. I've been chewing gum to exercise both parts equally.. But invisalign has improved my mewing, it makes it more consistent and my face looks less longer and a bit more squared. The changes are slow but after a while you see a bit of improvement. I think the key is to maintain the back molars touching each other by applying tongue suction on the top of the mouth. Like a vacuum. In 1 more year I bet it will look 100 times better :)
@@carlosa.n5100 thank you for reporting back! thats interesting.. ill start soon with ceramic braces maybe it will fix it for me. gl to you! ill report back if i dont forget
It depends on the patient, and where the problem comes from. Here my patient wanted a great smile quickly, and he had tried braces, so veneers worked for him. Other people don't like veneers so they may go for complex brace treatment or even something called orthognathic surgery, where the jaw bones are repositioned to correct the cant.
Ughhh my smile like this everytime i took a selfie with a flip camera/mirrors camera i delete it immediately because its look ugly. I have braces right now and i ask my orthodontic about it they say its normal and they can't fixe it.. Then i saw it. I think i need to find another orthodontic 😩.waste of money😭
It's best if patients are realistic and are reasonable in their expectations, not forcing their cosmetic dentist or cosmetologist to go on an overdrive , like say using botox etc .
ok but the guy looks different now- this must be accounted for when making a decision to fix smile, you will look different over all, and how can you be sure you will like the new you??
Its really hard to do this with braces, and not as accurate. The problem is the skeleton is not level, and thats where the cant is. This patient had already tried braces, and it didn't work for him.
Dr Gurs Sehmi as you said he tried invisalign, which I had for 26 months and gave up and switched to metallic braces. I had the right side shorter as well but orthodontic treatment fixed that issue both methods. I switched to braces as the Invisalign doesn’t work well with elastics to close the bite on the sides. At the end it’s just a plastic which bends. Damaging healthy teeth forever with veneers should have been last resort. This patient should have been advised to get traditional braces first.. youtube is great to reassure the orthodontic treatment with before and after.
me too , the right side of my face is so pretty , but the left side is lower , I guess it's a problem from the skull , but it wasn't like that , I look at pictures of myself from 2 years ago and my face was okay wth happened dude , I'm so sad ..
