‘Fantastic’, thanks for uploading your video. My siren just went off on its own twice last night, obviously caused by current the hot weather. I thought the siren must be faulty until I watched your video. I also checked the event history on my Yale app and it confirmed two tamper events had occurred during the night. Many thanks again for sharing your fix👍
An alternative to try first is to pull the spring off and stretch it out a bit to lengthen it, so that there is more compression when the cover is refitted. However, the tamper spring which caused me problems was the one behind the box - against the wall. It worked fine for a long time but then started going off randomly. It's a rough brick wall. I found that inserting a thin piece of cardboard between it and the spring fixed that problem.
Hi I had this problem a few years ago thought box was faulty so contacted Yale. I was give another box as system was still in warranty. Now the new one is doing it. Tried your tip which makes sense confident I'll will work thanks for top tip.
mine was going "tamper fault" in the app. I always assumes it was the back spring. I'll give this a try. cheers for the siren unplug tip. mine would go off even if bypassed in the app...not a fun experience having that near your face while at 4m+ up
Gonna try this mines going off even with brand new battery’s. Same model as yours about three years old. Had it going once off before for no reason. opened the case to find a spider and web across the contacts. I’ll give an update. Cheers
Nice advance, I had a similar problem with pir sensor but instead fiting a screw I just stretch the spring bit more so is bit longer and did a job as well.
Hi, my alarm has been making random noises, not like the normal continuous siren sound. I changed the batteries recently. It is cold outside not hot. Could this be the same issue? Thanks 👍
Thanks for taking the time to do this video explaining this tip. Do you think it's worth doing this even before putting it up brand new? The front of my house is West facing so gets quite a bit of sun.
I have tried this on both tamper switches firstly doing what you said on the inside tamper then I contacted Yale who told me to put the alarm on a board making sure that the tamper on back of alarm makes contact unfortunately I am still having the issue so not sure what to do next.
