I wanted to comment to support this genius. For anyone scared that all the comments are bots, or fake. I promise you this is real and some how this man fixed what a billion dollar company fails to give advice for. Keep it up man!
OMG!!! You saved my life. I was recently laid off of my work, and I needed to come back to illustrating, and the pencil wasn’t working anymore. I had no money to replace it. So, I love you, and if I was near to you I would bake you a cake. (That´s what we say here in Chile) Thank you soooo much!!!! ❤🎉😊
Brilliant fix! I've just come back from the genius bar where I was told my pencil was broken and I would need to buy a replacement. Ade, you are the genius here. Thank you so much.
You are a godsend! This worked. I put it next to my space heater for about 3-4 min and I was able to connect. Sure enough the battery was 0. I haven’t used the pencil prior in months. You were spit on. Thank you!
This is my first ever youtube comment BUT BRO YOU'RE A GOD!!!! I had a lot of trouble with Apple Pencils ever since I got my first one and then after a long time of suffering I could finally use my current one for over 10 months without a problem. Then one day while drawing with it, my iPad suddenly shut down due to battery exhaustion and when I charged it and turned back on, my Apple Pencil stopped working. It was just like in your video. I contacted Apple Support, did everything they suggested but nothing worked. I started to lose hope and got really really frustrated. Then I ACCIDENTALLY bumped into your video and OH MY GOD IT WORKED!! 🎉🙆🥰 Thank you so much!
My son found your solution, we tried it and it worked! 🎉🎉🎉 💯 ! We never used it since we bought for 3 years so it’s an old model, happy it still can get to work. Thank you so much! ❤
Omg omg. I didnot use my pencil for 2 years and i had no idea it needs to be charged all the time. Today i wanted to use it and it was dead and nlt charging. I was dead worried, i knew i wont be able to buy it again. Somehow ended up on your video, used hairdryer for 2 3 minutes. It didnot worked right away but after restarting the ipad it has started to charge. thankyou so muchhhh
I bought an "untested" pencil in a pawn shop, I bargained it down to PLN 40 ($10), the seller agreed because he probably thought it was garbage. Of course, the Pencil turned out to be faulty. after your video, I wrapped it in a rag and put it in the air fryer for 5 minutes, 80 degrees Celsius. works perfectly :) thank you!
When i tell you i watched this and thought... There is no way thats for real. Well i just tried it (used a hairdryer on low heat and blast for about two minutes) and it worked. Strangest fix ive ever seen. Youve earned yourself a sub good sir, keep up the good work ❤
Unfortunately I've tried everything since I really don't wanna play extra for a new pencil! 😭 Ever since I got it my pencil wouldn't connect to my iPad without Lightblue, and even then it took 15-20 minutes to get it connected... When I heat it a bunch it still doesn't work , so I may just count my losses and give in. I really appreciate your video for help! I'll definitely use this if my new one acts up. 😊 I'm an android person, but because I love to use procreate I decided to go for apple, but tbh my original opinion on apple products have been proven true. 😅
Just a slight adjustment in what worked for me. After heating the pencil, it still would not connect ( I had heated in one of those fluffy hot water bottle sleeves where you can place your hands). I then carried out two steps at the same time so I don’t know what actually fixed it. In blu tooth settings I selected forget device of the previous pencil pair record. I returned the pencil to the hot water bottle sleeve but plugged it into a charging cable for 5 to 10 minutes. Then plugged it into iPad and then 30 seconds later it could see it and functionality restored. Thanks for the vid!
Thank youuuuuu!!!! I lost my pencil at school on the first back so had to take my moms and she has never used it and I couldn’t get it to work. This video is a life saver!!!
Thank you very much for sharing this video. It worked perfectly on my Apple Pencil 1 with the iPad 6th generation. I have to admit that I didn't believe it when I first saw the video, but I decided to give it a try and it was the only procedure that solved my problem
Thanks, friend. I have an Apple Pencil that had been unused for 2 years. I followed your instructions. I heated a towel and used a hot water bottle. I wrapped the Apple Pencil in the hot towel and placed the hot water bottle on top. After 20 minutes of heating, I removed and plugged the Apple Pencil into my iPad. It connected and started charging immediately.
Wow when my Apple Pencil cannot work it I feel sad , I try this matter around 10min plug to my iPad still no working then I go to setting . Bluetooth forgot my device (Apple Pencil) suddenly is work!!! Omg!!! AND FULLY CHARGE I really can’t believe thank u man ,God BLESS YOU
Ong the heating pad worked!!!! At first it didn't work for 3 mins but then I did it for 20 and it worked!! Thank you so much for this you just earned yourself a new subscriber?!!
This is my third Apple Pencil and I’ve only just seen this video! I’ve been sending them back as broken! This should be the first result when you search for Apple Pencil not working! Thanks!
just amazing. I tried the rolled up in a towel under a hot pot twice. Then after two passes with the hairdryer, my iPad is seeing the pencil. Charging now. Thank you!!
says my pencil has less than 3% battery and disconnects or remains connected but once I remove it from iPad charging port, it disconnects I can't use the pencil for even one second. please give me a solution to fix it.
My pencil was working before my update and now it doesn’t work. It says Apple Pencil when I connect it to the side of iPad but it no longer shows the charging bar.
You just earned yourself a lifelong subscriber! Reviving my dead apple pencil felt like reviving a dead person! I gave it 3 shots. Worked in the 3rd!!!! Thank you Ade 🥺 It means more than I can express.
Absolutely blown away that this works!!! Currently my pencil is having a fun time glitching but its actually being recognized by my ipad!!! Thank you so much!!
I have a brand new Apple Pencil that almost never use. Bought it December 2023, so it’s barely 6 months old and I’ve used it maybe a total of five minutes. That said it stays permanently docked on the iPad so I was surprised that the charge was down to zero. What I will say is after trying everything else, including what Apple support suggested, nothing else worked. I heated up a heating pad in the microwave for two minutes. Wrapped the pencil inside the hot pack for five minutes. After re-docking it for just 15 seconds, it was already up to 90% charge. Within one to two minutes it was fully charged again and is working just fine now. Thank you.
Ok this worked for me ! But at first it didn’t. First I unpaired the pencil and did it his way with a pot of water and cloth, but that didn’t work. Then I wrapped the pencil in a rag and put it in between a flat iron on the lowest setting for 15 minutes (caution-this is potentially dangerous and WILL damage the skin of the stylus a bit) then immediately put it to charge on my iPad for 15 minutes. That still didn’t work, so without removing the pencil at all, I did a hard reset on the iPad, and it worked after that! Hopefully this will help someone else who’s pencil didn’t work at first either. I have the first gen pencil. :)
My apple pencil was put away for a good amount of time and I almost bought a new one. Then I stumbled upon this video! It is currently charging and connected! Great video!!
THANK U SOOOOO MUCCHHH !!!! YOU SAVED MY MONEY AND LIFE THANK U SO MUCH!!!!!! (Side note: u can also use a hairdryer it takes 15seconds and it works also) but thank u so much again I was so stressed so it made my day!
Thanks this works !! IMPORTANT TIP ! Make sure you disconnect (forget this device) from the device. I heated it 3 times before i saw he mentioned in the comments to disconnect !
The ingenious ways in which people are warming their pencils up is actually hilarious. Mine is far less creative! It’s currently wrapped in a dry rag, sitting on top of a mug of boiled water. I’m hoping the steam will be enough to get it going. Edit- it worked! 😅
THANK YOUUUU!!! I heated up cooked rice for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, put a paper towel over it then covered my Apple Pencil in the hot rice…. It worked!!!!!
Hello. Been having exactly the same issues that you have encountered. Did you get yours to come back to life and stay alive? Got mine back up to 100 percent but as soon as I removed it from the port, nada. Still nothing. Dead again. Apple never made a big deal out of this when I spent over £100 quid on it a couple of years ago. i understand it only comes with a one year warranty but feel that at that price point, they should do better. Many thanks.
I never comment on videos but THIS IS LEGIT! Thank you so much man I was worried I had to go and buy a new one but this really worked! Hope you reach your sub goal 🔥😤💪
Omg I cant believe this worked!!! I had 2 dead pencils. Neither had been used for years. Got one of them working again! Now trying to heat the second more and longer to see if I can get that one working too. Thank you 😊
@@MH-sg9ok 😁alright. Btw Can you like kind of give the steps you did to fix your first one.. like for how much time did you keep it in heat.. and also what kind of heat : heater/hairdryer/heating pad? Mine is sometimes connecting but sometimes not.. And also it is not charging... and when it's connecting, the moment I remove it from my ipad. it disconnects. can you guide me... also for how long you didn't use your pencil?.. that it was dead? months/ years?
Muito obrigada! Me salvou muito! Achei que tinha quebrado e consegui fazer minha Apple Pencil carregar novamente com essa dica! Muito obrigada mesmo! ❤
I would like to confirm it work! Work like a magic. At first I tried for several round. It did not work, I gave up. Then next morning I try to plug in the pencil AGAIN. The Pencil popped up and conneted 😂😂😂. Genius!
I tried it using hairdryer and leave it for about 5 mins. It was super hot afterwards and I was worried it’s worsen the problem. But I tried to forget device and there I can reconnect again with the apple pen, it’s actually 90% charged haha. Thank you very much for sharing this tips
I have a problem with my Apple Pencil gen 1. I connect it fine, but it doesn’t write. When I disconnect it from the port, it flashes not connected. If I go to about I can see Apple Pencil option, but if I connect the Pencil it’s there twice. Also if I go to Apple Pencil settings I can see it’s charged but if I plug it in, for a while it shows it’s dead. Do you have some tip on how to fix this? I will be trying your hot water bottle method as well.
Have you tried removing it from bluetooth connection "forgot this device" and starting from scratch? Sometimes the bluetooth gets buggy. Also the tip is replaceable. They usually come with extras in the original box, but you can pick them up on eBay or Amazon.
OMG THANK U SOO MUCHHHHH❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. ( for the people who are saying it connects and disconnects, and goes dead after u unplug. It was happening to me too! I just kept redoing it and heating it more and more until it worked. And after 6th try it worked and I am so happy omg. Thank u so much ❤❤❤❤❤.
Amazing! I usually keep my pencil charged but it died two days ago. I didn't realize it needed to keep some kind of charge and was disappointed in myself. It's an unconventional solution that I wasn't sure would work, but your video saved my pencil. Thank you so much!
My Apple Pancil couldn’t connect via lightning or any connection app I was so desperate and almost bought a new one I didn’t believe this method but it worked 100% Thank you for the video!
This is amazing - thank you som much! was about to fork out for new pen, now it's paired and charging after a couple of years in oblivion. Mind you, I used a hair dryer and had to reheat the pen several times as pairing was lost. Very excited to see how it works when fully charged!
I used a heating pad on the highest setting and it worked. We had spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Pen is now registering on the iPad and charging normally. Thank you!!
bro sitting in uni and i tried everything.. your solution helped me. i placed the pencil on the heater for 5 minutes and now it works. thank you man may god bless you
This video is underrated, like I just put my Apple Pencil on top of my toaster, on top of a pice of cloth, for 8min and then work like new! Thank you for this video 🙏🏽
Thank you so much! I was trying for hours to make it work and all the videos kept saying the same thing, but you’re video helped me fix the issue in less than a minute! I just heated it up for a bit with a hairdryer and it started working, thank you so much!
Mannnnn , I never commented on any RU-vid video. This is the first time I’m typing a comment here just to thank you for this trick and it really worked!!!!! You saved my bucks bro. Much love❤️
BROOOO! I swear to god you saved my life so much, I was so stressed out about this issue, I thought that my pencil is broken and I don’t want to waste any money for it. Literally saved my life. What I did is i wrapped the Pen with a cloth and heat it using a hairdryer for a few minutes (don’t put it too close). It probably took me like 2-3 minutes and after that, I charged the pen and it suddenly works! Thank you very much! ❤
I was stressing so much omg and I was really weirded out too but I decided to hold it above my heater for about a minute or two and it paired immediately!! Thank you so much!!
Omg, thnx so much. I was worried i have to buy anther apple pencil but with this amazing trick i fixed! Hope this video help another people. Thanks again.
This worked perfectly, thank you! I accidentally heated it up too much I thought by placing it tucked in a preheated wheat pillow. It turned out ok but be a bit cautious and don’t leave it like i did..
Your tip worked as far as reviving the battery for the iPad to recognize it. However, mine was on the shelf too long that after charging 12 hours, it still only shows 1% charged. 😕
Thank you! I was about to buy a new one… Thank god I found this video! I also noticed that, sometimes, it is also a valid solution to just unpair it and pair it again.
OMGGG!!!! THIS WORKS! I put it in heating pad it didn't work, i used a blow dry for 3 mins still didn't work but then I went to bluetooth settings > forget device then somehow it paired!!! THANK YOU!!!
