Something that helps me a lot is actually adjusting my tone and volume knobs on the guitar. 10 across the board is definitely easy but adjusting that tone knob can help SO MUCH. Also a compressor and a buffer are a must have

Great tip! Yes, especially a strat bridge pickup which can get especially gnarly with the twang with the tone on 10 at high gain. I’m usually at 8, sometimes even 6.

Man, I just recently upgraded to a Fender Tone Master Pro in November. But I saw that Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone. I had one on my old physical board and that pedal is slept on. It's SUCH a good pedal in a physical rig.

There is indeed something about it! To be honest I only really heard of it when Paul Gilbert played through one. For his high gain rig to be generally quiet AND have that compressor on was amazing to behold!

I dont know if you really need more than one rig these days. It might be daunting for a beginner without the right gear, but I think it can be done. For example, my rig goes Atlas Comp>TS>Morning Glory>Halberd V2>Rat clone>HX Stomp XL>Volante>Ventris>Deco v2 I usually just run that into my inteface, or I could throw my Mark V25 int the mix. I cant think of any style I cant play with my rig, it would be a lot easier when I get midi set up, but still.

Nice rig! That HX Stomp XL is the "tone chameleon" that can suit the variety of styles possible. I think my larger point was that the approach has to be different with analog or hybrid rigs. The individual pedals lock in the limits of what they can do stylistically (this particular rig of mine can't do classic rock, for example).

@@AllAboutWorshipGuitarThanks. I love my pedals. But I see what you are getting at. I mean I am going to start working on getting my board under control with a MIDI controller soon . Another thing is I mostly play at home. I dont think I would take what I have out to a show at say a bar or something, another reason why people may want a more focused board. Have a good one man.
