Watch this video if you are having problems with sync.
If your beatgrids are not set up correctly,
Sync WILL NOT WORK.
For sync to work, it is necessary for all of your beat grids to be setup correctly.
Watch this video to learn how to edit and set up beat grids correctly, so that when you use sync while DJing, the track will never go out of wack.
This is a super important troubleshooting step for Serato DJ Pro, but will work the same on any dj software like Rekordbox or Virtual DJ.
The beat grid MUST be aligned on all of the softwares to work.

Ya man ! Honestly the best solution is to learn how to work by ear I know it has more functions than that, But due to this, it is what it is I actually worked with an algorithm creator who wanted to sell to serato to fix the issue, Not sure if it ever went thru, But it worked

Been trying to get this sorted for a hot minute now. I think my biggest issue was clearing the beatgrid and setting it on the 1 which left the intro as a negative beat grid and crapped all my bars up too. Looks like I will be busy remapping a ton of songs this week while resetting queue points. On a bright now homie I FINALLY GET MY REV 7!!!! only took 4 months of wait. YOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad this helped bro! Placing the "1" on the downbeat, is the absolutely number 1 skill. For beatmatching, beat gridding, everything, If that isn't dropped correctly, EVERYTHING will be off for sure and no way of fixing it AND HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooOOOOOOoOO It's the one for sure, A couple annoyances, but honestly the best controller that exists, you're gonna love it!!!

You just gotta keep going What kind of music are you gridding ? If it's old stuff that isn't quantized, use the set button on each 1 instead of slipping it

I've had this problem with 90s hard core/DnB so I tried putting a marker on every down beat and it kept jumping around the BPM.

@@d.w.strangeman4963 yes this will definitely happen if the bpm isn't consistent I would ASSUME DnB would always keep a consistent BPM due to it being electronic, But if you're ever beat gridding some rock and roll or live music, The bpm will always jump around and change because it's not conistent Either the track itself was made that way, Or somethign was done wrong But yes, this is the case, The BPM will change and jump around based on how you grid the track!!!

@@TheDJConnect hi, got frustrated and spent the night trying to figure it and kinda worked around it. Obviously, in the early 90s, Manuel editing on something like an Akai or Amiga 2k wasn't always spot on so quantizing would try to perfect it just making it worse! I think Serato is trying to recorrect it and getting confused. The BPM displays jump around but (without sync) it still stays pretty much on beat, just need to do it old school. I don't use sync, got (old) ears for that, just like to keep everything tight with options there when needed.

@@d.w.strangeman4963 yes ! so than honestly this sounds correct Unless you go thru and build this out in a DAW and re-quantize everyhting, This is normal just make sure the beat grids are all correct to ear, and the bpm will definitely change around unless its a perfectly built quantized track, this is normal! and this is also why sync is not a crutch :) should only be used as a tool, def not an end all be all!

Yes definitely! You can literally turn on quantize And as you go thru the track just hit a marker That will solidify it as well This video might be pretty old but I found some new tricks (I RARELY ever beatgrid anything because it's always done from record pools)

I find 70s disco and early 80s the worst for drifting BPM, becausedrums were largely done by human hands. While tgat can improve the natural-sounding nature of the song, it makes beatmatching a nightmare. I tend to hit extra markers every few bars just to keep everything aligned. What still throws everything off, however, is when part of a song has an irregular timing, such as going 4/4 most of the time and then they include an extra beat or three, derailing the nicely aligned beat grid.

If it won't work you would have to mix it with an effect or slam it in on the beat. Assuming you can't try to mix it in the headphones. The other way is turn off sync and do it visually. Use nudge (+&-) and pitch until the moving wave formations align and don't slip away from each other. I start with the 1st beat from a bar. Then once a new bar starts on the track that is playing i release in time with that. If you set the layout to vertical 2 channels the wafeforms are next to each other and you can visualize to confirm timing that you are listen to in the headphones.

OK so I can't get this to work, after working my way down the track and stretching/shrinking when I go back to the very beginning it's out again?! So I get the beginning right and and then the end is out. This is with modern edm music that should have regular beats. I'm getting this with a lot of tracks so I must be doing something wrong?

When the bpm is drifting it's cause it's built off grid So like drum/band music isn't quantized That's the only thing you can do

Unfortunately I do believe this is the only option Where do you get your music from ? Record pools normally come down already But it's also best to not have to rely on the grid at all

3:04 to actually get to the point...Under the song name, click "Edit Grid", that's it... Drag song to beat start, then click Set easy... not sure why this video is 11min... at least i found the solution here. But the rest was unnecessary.

Terrible software! sync clearly fails even after beat edit is set and saved. Serato is my worst purchase and for me waste of money due to this. Traktor is better. In this day and age we still cannot get analyse function that knows a downbeat wave form pattern that can be auto adjusted by software is beyond me.

Serato is the best software bar none brother. Traktor isn't even supported by anything or anybody I've literally never had an issue with sync, and when I use sync I'm using it to create transitions live in the mix Why would you be relying on the software to do that anyways ? Also most record pool tracks come with beatgrids pre made for you, all built out properly

If you get music from a reputable source like record pools, it's already done for you Serato does it during analyze, sometimes it's wrong🤷‍♂️ Not something I worry about tho

As much as streaming will be the future, right now just doesn't seem viable.
