How to fix black and unresponsive iPhone screen: 6/6+/6s/6s+ 

Guys if you are just trying to fix the black screen problem, after unscrewing the plate just lift out the battery connector for 10 seconds and put it back in and screw the plate back on. THEN IF YOUR phone was charged before it went black it should turn on after you press the power button if not charge it and then turn it on. This actually works and the video was very helpful.

You are an absolute legend, i smashed my iPhone screen and replaced it myself thinking i was clever> Once I was done the screen wouldn't turn on. I switched a load of screws around as I had been careless and switched some. Luckily I watched this and disconnected the battery and then reconnected. Once this was done I held the power button for 5 seconds and boom screen is on, thanks so much man

I was so hesitant to try this because I didn't know if it was gonna work, but boy it sure did!!!! I unscrewed the 2 screws from the bottom. And a next set as shown, then 5 at the top of the phone and I pressed down on the black chords he shows. The screen definitely came on. Thank you!!!! Sidenote: I definitely did not have those tools but I used an eyeglass screw to open all of those

The iPhone 6 Plus has 4 of those black connectors. After going step by step, I figured out my mistake. When reconnecting the flat black lego connectors, make sure they are in the correct order. The second and third one are very similar in size and it was as simple as adjusting how they laid on top of each other. Thanks again!

i have done it but still have black screen . what should i do??

When opening the screen, I found the digitizer cable loose and plugged it back in as well and unplug and plug the other ones as well, but it didn't work..

Hi Tyler, Fistly thank you for your great video. I have an Iphone 6, was not used for a few months and was not charging at all. Replaced the battery. The Apple Logo comes on and goes off soon when connected with the charger, or with button press methods. Screen remains black. I did not remove/reconnect screen connectors since the Logo came on ! Anything else I can try here please ?

Unfortunately this kind of tricks help just temporally, last week my phone started to have black screen issues and the 2 button restart works fine a few days but today after a week doing so my phone just died, I can hear the sounds but the black screen is there, my last chance was opening the iphone like you did but it didn't work either. I think is time to get a new phone.

if someone were to have unscrewed the screws before watching your video and learning that it matters which one goes where, what would you recommend for figuring out which screws go where?

Tyler detmers i did it but it did not help. When i opened it up i did notice that one of the little black fuzzy things on the connectors was misplaced but i couldn't fix it. Could that be the issue??

My phone is not responding to anything I've tried force restart, doesnt vibrate, recieve calls or anything like that, my PC recognizes the device but thats it. black screen as if its powered off completely and irresponsive to anything I tried using this method now I cannot lower the top portion of the screen back into place the rest is clicking back into place as normal except the top portion of the screen, what can I do.

Hello, I am trying to fix a friend's iphone 6. I had fixed her battery a couple weeks ago. Then, it came back broken, unrecognizable on itunes as well. She told me tried using a fan through the chargin port. So, I tried replacing that today but it still doesn't turn on. DO you think the fan may have fried the logic board or it may be the battery?

Could not leaving the metal bracket holder on the LCD ribbon connectors cause any damage? I bought an entire front assembly of my iPhone and since it's new the ribbon cables are very sturdy and I was afraid of bending them while trying to put the bracket in place so I just left it off. Any help would be great :p

After I've Replaced for a New Battery on my iPhone it now has a Black Screen and I tried everything and it doesn't light up the screen. I can hear is the vibrates charging port and sometimes the lcd panel lights up black but no other images. Any Solutions?

My iphone 6+ problems... 1. Wont charge... what i did is plug in the charger then turn off the phone, it does not indicate charging but after 2-3 hrs when turned on its fully chared. 2. Mute switch is not working or like grounded i dont know... just that when i am using the phone it will activate mute then seconds later deactivate always like that on and on and on. 3. Power button not working... i try to turn off but doesnt work but when im using the turn off display pops up over and over.. Lastly... now my phone is dead literally. According to some shops that checked its ic problem. So... what do you think?! I need honest opinion about this to prevent me from losing money from unwanted repairs or wrong repair or parts replacements. Thank you very much 😊

Hey, I haven't had time to do this yet, but I am curious. I dropped my iPhone 6s with a crappy case and the screen just froze, a bit "glitched out", and every time I turned it on and off, it just appeared with the same frozen screen, and it was slowly fading.. now the screen is black and will not turn on. Just making sure this would be the same sort of situation where I would need to do this? I may try it later tonight, but I'm just making sure before I try anything. I'm asking this because I don't know what exactly would be an appropriate scenario.. if that makes sense

I dropped my phone, tried turning it on and when I hold the power button (or the power and home button) I get the the white little apple screen thing but after it goes all dark, i don't think the pixels turn off bc when u tilt the phone u can see them giving off a little light. my iphone 6 has a weird problem, i was using it a couple days ago, i dropped it with a screen protector installed and the phone cracked. When i went to pull off the screen protector, my iphone screen started glitching for a good 15 minutes, before eventually not showing any life on the screen. My phone had Water Damage. at first it was rebooting, I tried to turn it off but it didn't work, I placed it in a bag of Rice for 24hrs then tried to connect to my PC, but a vertical line appear and still rebooting after 30 sec. Hi Here's the deal. I had bought an LCD and replaced it myself. Few days later I broke my phone again. I bought another LCD and replaced it again :) When I put everything together, I push the power button and I can see the screen is turning on but display remains black. I rang my phone with my iPad and it does ring. I plugged the phone to my pc and iTunes recognized it. I also put back the old screen and my phone works. Is it possible the new LCD is faulty somehow? Thank you in advance.
