This worked for me! Thanks a lot. I went to apple after reading on the forums about other people having this problem and they wanted $329 from me. I walked out and went directly to youtube and found your video. Keep up the good work!
This video clip is exceptional, should be the first instruction you try when experiencing troubles with unresponsive touch screen! It captures the tacit knowledge known only by experts, and you show this extremely convincingly! Very well done Sir. I managed to repair my mother-in-laws iPhone 6 this way today and it took like 30 minutes for a complete newbie. The only problem she experienced was that the letter ”y” and ”6” did not respond on the screen keyboard, a very localized but annoying dead spot. So I just disassembled the screen contacts, inspected them closely, corrected the slight curvature found in some of the contacts. Cleaned the contacts with a slight touch of a cotton swab moisturized lightly with some isopropyl alhohol to get rid of any contaminants from my skin when straightening the cable contacts. Just for good measure. This is the very first time I ever tried to get to the inside of a smartphone, the proper opening procedure was found elsewhere but very simple in the case of iPHONE 6; a suction cup and some guitar-pick like plastic bending tools, careful with the upper side and not opening more than say 90 degrees. Had to get a repair kit with the proper screwdriver heads and suitable opening tools of course, prying tools were all made of plastic and worked perfectly. Result: perfect function on first attempt, thanks to your excellent instruction to get a feel for the correct installment of the contact strips that is signified by a tactile ”snap”. Many thanks!
Great video and good advise. It is so important to ensure those ribbons attached to the display connect properly and securely. While replacing my iPhone 6 battery, I had numerous attempts to get my iPhone to work only to find "white lines" across the display as well as unresponsive screen not accepting any commands. After looking at your video, I went back to the "drawing board" and closely looked at the ribbons; spray compressed air and push from left to right, display ribbons as well as the digitizer. After snapping them firmly, the display came back and the phone recovered all its capabilities. The most critical part after the firm connecting of the ribbons is to place the extremely small and difficult to manage screws that cover the plate above the ribbon connections. This took me the longest. Thank you for posting this very helpful video.
Took me a few try’s - that long connector just would NOT click in - this definitely helped . It never fully “clicked” but got it to work based on your suggestions - thanks !
bruh! god bless you! I've been spending so much time trying to figure out why the touch screen wasn't working after I replaced it. After this video, I went back and reconnected the screen a few times until it worked. Thanks!
This just totally saved me from replacing my out of warranty iPhone. I live in China and the guys at the particular phone repair place near me are known for stealing parts and swapping out the battery. Glad I didn't have to go there. Thanks a lot!
thanks soooo much this saved me sometime trying to figure out why I replaced the phone with new screen but wasn't getting any successful screen touch, once I followed your video I managed to get the phone working
This worked for me. Had no touch what so ever. Looked at the cable and saw that there was a pin that was bent. Fixed it bug still has a slight flicker on the screen. But this video helped a lot. Cheers mate 👍👍👍
I see comments from people with unresponsive or intermittent touch. If your display has not been replaced and you have intermittent or no touch it could be from the phone being flexed or dropped and the touch IC chip has a fracture in one or more of the solder balls. The iphone 6 and 6+ have this issue more as underfill not used on the IC's. This video is excellent for the issue where you replace the display and touch doesn't work or you have lines. Take it out straighten the flex gently and as instructed make sure it seats evenly when trying again. I have done hundreds of these and every once in a while this happens and I have to do exactly as he shows in this video. And if having a really bad day might have to do this a couple of times to get it to seat right.
Great video. I fully appreciate your posting this and taking the time to be thorough in your explanations and demonstrations. It took me far too long to find someone that could show me why my touchscreen wouldn't work. I knew there was something small I was missing and this hit the nail on the head. Thank you.
Thank you so much brother!❤️ thought I fucked my iPhone 6 up because I forgot to remove the battery connector. Thankfully the LCD connector was just bent a bit. Your trick did the job! Thank you
Can the ports on the main board go bad, or damaged? I put a new digitizer on and it just is black, if I plug the iPhone into the computer it detects it as being on. Put the old cracked screen on and it's black as well.
Marjorie Eldridge it can that’s most likely the reason why your phone gets all the lines and some part of your screen don’t respond due to dropping it and th flex cable being disconnected or not snapped in
Hi dear , I'm not sure if u reading this after many years , but I wrote this to say sorry at first watched ur video I gave it dislike (cuz there was the second ur hands was off the camera to replace the screen .. lol) but I realize that was true and ur method it's working , so here is my appreciation for you thanks with love 💕 I liked the video.👍🏻
How too know mine was working and after when i went too fx it has many white lines ,like yours and then after it has a black screen after i sugery it,and now it. Doesnt show nothing only a black screen. And i dont now how too fix
on my phone, the middle line of the keyboard does not work. any suggestions? i changed the screen and it is the same. it is an iphone 6. Also, the wifi bar is greyed out and my volume buttons do not work.
I have that exact touch screen issue but no matter how straight that panel is, the touch screen and home button never respond. I've tried at least 20 times
Hello, So I dropped my iPhone in water. seemed like a loss, so i tried the whole put it in rice dealio, which seemed to have done something positive since it actually turned back on and it seemed fine, except no touch response. after much research i decided to buy a new screen assembly with digitizer. i got the screen today and tried changing it, but it still did not respond to touch. no lines, no weird lights or dead spots, seems all good except not responsive to touch. i even tested the new screen on my new iphone and it worked fine. i have cleaned my water damage iphone with rubbing alcohol to remove any mineral deposits from the rice, and used a heat gun to dry it all out. watching your video, i noticed my symptoms are the same as your second example, where you're not supposd to go right to left or left to right on the flex cable. still nothing. could it be the part where the flex cable plugs into and not the screen itself? thanks in advance!
Hey my touch screen sometimes(4-5 times a day) becomes unresponsive and doesn't do anything even though there are not line of any sort just the unresponsive screen and sometimes it click stuff by itself help
It might be that your iPhone 6 Plus or 6 has the touch disease because you sat down with your phone in your back pocket and the phone bent and the touch sensor is messed up or I might be a cracked screen.
didn't work for me maybe you can help me because the when i power on my iphone 6 plus the screen goes black but nothing is displayed and your trick not wprking, need a little more help plz!
I have an iPhone 5 bought a new screen and nothing happened the mute switch is broken so the only way I know it works is by using iTunes it says I have to enter my passcode but I can’t because the screen is black and won’t come on. I don’t know why I have tried putting the cables in and they are all in fully none bent or anything. So I’m not sure what’s up maybe I have a bad screen replacement or maybe the connectors are broken but I would really like if it started working
Recently replaced my screen etc due to screen not working..... Fitted it fine and everything works....but.... I have a problem. On the screen it won't respond to anything at the top of the screen like apps , but the rest of the screen works ??? Any idea ?? Please help
This is the "missing link" to IPhone 6 Plus repair- the critical element that is left out of all the other guides to Iphone 6 Plus screen replacement and touch screen/digitizer repair. Forget the other methods, like deleting all of your info on your phone and restoring it as a new phone with all your of your info gone forever! Look up the concept of Occam's Razor, and try this before you do anything that causes you to lose your data, emails, photos and contacts.
If you r hving the no touch problem alone bc yur phone fell n u hv nothing to open it with..just hit the upper back of the phone or your palm 3times and itll work..thats cuz the digitizer is there and wen u hit it in tht area..itll move foward into place..just domt hit it hard to destroy your iphone
Hope this is my issue. Stopping at service center to recommend as a fix. As Apple told me yesterday, no fix. Buy a new phone. Not an option. A lady was next to me and I heard her describe same issue! It's got to be more common than we know. Slightly bending or applying pressure seems to help me get screen to work agin. The while bar has gotten worse from top of screen since yesterday.
I haven't tried it yet but if your correct I'll be able to touch my iPhone screen cause it won't let me touch it but everything else works like it turns on but won't let me touch the screen please help
This works for me but once i connect the other two flex cables and screw the shield back on it stops responding to touch again. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
i did what u did, but there's 5 lines appears on the left side of the screen. how to fix that !?! also the touch is not working at all now . hope you replay me .
Mine has several thin black vertical lines on the screen after a screen replacement. After taking all the connectors off and checking everything, the problem is still there. All the connectors/ports have been brushed/dusted, and none of the connectors are bent. Any idea what's wrong? P.S. The touch screen works fine. The thin lines are the only problem.
Hi, My Iphone 6 drop into a bucket of water when i remove it i have dry it and it was walking perfectly fine but 2 weeks later the torching stop working and it shows those line and boxes, and later on it goes black screen when an engineer open it try to pix it. I was thinking about the screen is broken but unfortunately i put it into another iPhone and its working fine and later put it back to my phone and it still showing the same. Any Idea please on what to do next? thanks
I bought a new screen for mine. Went thru all the steps changing it. Everything was fine up until trying to plug in the longest flex cable. It will not snap into place at all. Won't even grab. What do you think is wrong? It's not bent or anything
Thank you soo soo soo muchhh!!!!!!!!!1 You saved my lifee!!!! it workeddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ilove youuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an i phone 6 plus and I put a new screen on it and everything is good it turns on and everything but the touchpad is not working like at all nothing works i cant even unlock it
then it's either a bad screen or not installed properly. worst case is it's possible touch IC damage and would need solder work. Try a new screen first
i did this and it seems to be better, no white line appears at the top anymore but the touch still randomly loses responsiveness then will start working again. don't know if there is anything else i can do to fix that
I'm having this same issue. Touch screen works for a few minutes, then won't work for a few minutes. iPhone 6+. Is this what's going on with you as well?
I found a pretty good temporary fix from another video. Try bending the upper right corner of the phone. The issue seems to be with a loose touch sensor on the logic board. The bend should hold it back in place.
