When this works it's real easy! I wish it was always this easy. If you have a frankensteined avatar, or say you download a tail asset and put it on your avatar, likely this won't work as despite doing this the bounding box will actually be different for those parts. If you set it to a really large value, it's likely you won't notice anyways because the bounding box might just be big enough to cover that part of your avi anyways, but that isn't always the case and isn't the best way of going about it either. There are also some unity tools you can use to help fix your bounding issues, but they don't always work so ymmv. If you are having issues with differently sized bounding boxes, one thing I'd recommend is making sure that all your meshes have the same root bone assigned.
Was rather annoyed having this issue, and I ended up needing to reduce the scale from 1 to 0.25, though I was able to get a more fine bounding box so I consider that a win; it's rather annoying they couldn't just set a value that limits its height, but its working now... just need to figure out now why the bones aren't being detected by the animator lol.
