Is'nt it convenient of GM to provide a 'Repair Kit' and charge you for their poor engineering. That the same problem is evident on the later Zafira B shows that GM/Opel really don't care! This is a serious safety breach and should be part of a wider recall. The issue, the wiring loom is too short and does not account for stress.
I had this happen on our 2005 Vauxhall Mariva. I solder-spliced the connections and applied adhesive-lined heat shrink. I also applied PTFE grease to the inside. I'm think this was the cause of the Vauxhall mystery battery drain problems....
If anyone can't open the back door, you can take off the door car rear and the speaker and access the loom from there, its was a lot easier than i thought actually (check the door mechanism first though as opening it from the inside when its locked can work, or both the indside and outside at the same time. Mine I suspect is a locked solenoid/child lock also as I have about 5 wires broken. Then you can pull it in to the rear door compartment, undo it and feed it back to the from of the car. I spent ages looking at my options and thought it might help someone. then do with the rest of this video. I have a loom second hand for £13! There are 3 types though and wires differ from one side of the car to the other. I think 5, 7 & 12 wires?
Hi, my situation is when I open my front door, the door warning light won’t show up, but the central lock works fine. Where should I check ? Thank you.
Hi, I have the Zafira A, and the blue and grey clips are missing from the rear door, and there is a hole in the doir, and a connector viable, but can take them off my other Zafira A, how do I do this please
GREAT video! I have an Opel Zafira A (2003) and it suffers from the very problem. I don't know if the loom part number is the same, but at least your video is of great help. Greetings from Portugal.
Hello, Do you have any way of passing cable from motor space to the car's room like passing cable from engine space into the passenger compartment.. thanks a lot.
Holla21 The wires in the set I got are different colours to the ones in the original so you need to follow the guidelines which ones with it. There are 2 white wire but they are marked with a 4 and a 10 so look at for that. You'll need wire cutters, strippers and a crimper as normal pliers won't do it. You don't need to pull the Zafira interior out as all work cutting and crimping is done between the car and door. It is a bit fiddly though.
My central locking is broke and the passenger side rear door wiring loom is the problem. The child lock is on and I can't open the door from the inside or out. Any clues on how to open the door?
try this, open the front passenger door, then lock the car using the key fob (leave front passenger door open), then lean in and open the rear passenger door using the interior handle, for some reason this worked for us every time until we got it fixed, annoying routine to go through though!
You will need to take the panel of the door off. The key fob trick above works because this is the emergency unlock facility but not with the child lock on.
@@vidsofstuff2233 you are %100 right I have to do this all the time we I lock the doors then reach in open handle it opens but you can hear it trying to open with the rest of the doors its just this one door would it be something to do with the solenoid my friend thanks.
Just repaired both sides on my zaffy b. One side the window wasn’t working so took a wild guess. Bought a double kit. The left side was a right mess so fitted the kit. Was gonna leave the working side but decided to take a look anyway. The right side was worse than the left. All wires bare and touching. Kept getting a flat battery randomly. Now I know why. Nice work GM 🙄 tossers
