Hello RU-vid! In this video, we will show you how to fix your camera (integrated camera or dedicated camera) if it is not being used by another app or that the windows camera app tells you to close other apps in other to use it. The error it shows is that another app is using the camera already and it shows the error code 0xa00f4243 (0xc00d3704).
This fix is meant as an easy and quick way to get your camera running again but if this doesn't work, the recommendation is to first restart your PC after all the solutions and fixes, and then try reinstalling windows. Meant for all current Windows versions: XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and of course Windows 10.

Bro I have Lenovo S540 i5-8265 Ram 8 GB SDD 128 GB, HDD 1 TB Graphics MX 250 2 GB From 16 days I'm facing an issue of Lag during playing the game. On this system I have completed full GTA 5 without any lag, but from past 16 days while playing tha game PES 2021, the starting 20-25 mins it runs very smoothly and suddenly it becomes much laggier at that time my GPU usage goes to 100% and CPU usage to 75%. I just wanted to know what wrong has happened to my system and pls reply....

when i use the camera key on keyboard it just shows camera is off symbol not the camera on symbol no matter how many times i click it...does that is what is causing my issue with camera..if you know anything about that pls tell

My god - have been through three months of struggle, installed/uninstalled, activated/deactivated everything like a million times ... and then all i have to do is press F8 hahahh. But really thanks a lot man, now my camera is finally working again !!

EVERYBODY! i have a potential solution if its your case. I bought the void elite headset from corsair and my camera wasn't working since i was using it. I have this same error but i didn't knew why. Here is how to fix. Make sure there is NO more then 2 microphone connected to your computer. If its not resolved yet if you have the same headset then close it, unplug the bluetooth usb 2.0, then replug it and turn it on. That's what i did and it work. The problem got fixed when i unplugged my old microphone.

As another person in the comments said, the problem for me was that the camera cover accidently slided to cover the camera. I didn't even know there is a camera cover on my laptop, its so tiny! And nobody on the internet ever mentions that this might be a problem. Thank god for that guy who found the solution.

Thanks . I was able to get 2 cameras to be used -ONE AT A TIME - but not simultaneously and not displaying in the same or seperate windows. There are some apps that allow 3 cameras - but windows photo app is not one of them. Its one at a time. If you are still seeing that error. Try making sure the plug and play services are all working and that the second webcam is really working. The device manager needs plug and play. So add that to your list. and use a decent cable for the camera some of those that come with the web-cams are cheap.

Changing the camera privacy settings fixed it for me on my laptop. Had to switch the settings to allow apps to use camera. Cheers!

The real solution to this problem is for Microsoft to permit multiple applications to be able to use the camera simultaneously instead of the exclusive nature of the operating system as it is now. Mac OS allows the camera to be used in multiple applications at the same time. This is a PC only issue. (This is not a PC vs Mac rant, just the facts). If enough people complain about this to Microsoft, nothing will happen anyway. They don't listen to their customers.

I think you are right. There should be a way to at least toggle between two camera devices at the same time, its a multi-tasking issue at the highest level - the app itself. Imagine if you could only have one window open at a time in your browser. Its the same thing. Only difference is the device. You should be able to have 10 cameras running at the same time if you have a fast enough processor. Windows really is behind the times.
