Great video. Going to tackle this myself! And shocking, I am the wife doing the work not needing to ask my husband to accomplish this task... lots of us wee women are fully capable ;)
I cringed when he said it, but I get it, he was fumbling for words, it happens. Also, I see what you're implying and I agree, thanks to the internet, most able-bodied adults could reasonably tackle this and do it correctly. That said, in my house the load is usually shared equally, in both the physical and emotional aspects. Physical load, includes things like chores, prepping, security. From those, specific jobs are reserved for me, because I like to do them, e.g., construction, taxes, and yard work. There's also some of my tasks I don't like, such as laundry, vacuuming, and mopping; I'll admit, I've looked up "How-to" for all those even though I hate them, but still do it because we're a team. We never complain, gloat, or rub it in their face when one picks up the slack of the other.
This is exactly what I wanted to learn! Thank you for taking the time to show me how to fix my cracked grout that has been bothering me for over a year!
FYI: I did show this to the tile guy (they messed around with the issue unsuccessfully twice) and they did exactly what you did in the video and now it's perfect. Again, thank you - you are my reference for anything tile now!
very nice calm instructions. Just exactly what I was looking for. I was worried about repairing broken grout in my kitchen, but now I feel confident that I will be able to do a decent repair. Thank you so much. ps you made me smile.
I have a walk-in / stall shower. Tiles on the outside / front (as you step in) have grout that is starting to deteriorate. I am going to try this method; anything will look better. Great video and simplified things for us laymen out here.
Great video, you answered every question I had about repairing cracked grout! Thank you for making what I thought was going to be a difficult job easy.
Glad I bumped into your channel. Clear, easy & informative,. I'm sure it's the same process for bathroom grout. Basically, scrape off old, thoroughly clean & dry, squish in caulk, squish again with finger (or plastic caulk tool) & clean with damp sponge. I can do this. Be well.
😆 I was trying to figure out what you were talking about, then he made the joke at the end. 🤦♀️ What evs. We got this. My partner works hard. It's nice to get the details done myself without harassing him with hints. The info was great though.

I've used "grout caulk" before and I never treated it like a grout. I always applied it like a caulk. The stuff dries on you pretty quickly compared to 100% silicone so I can see why you use a little water to clean up, which is something you wouldn't do with caulk. Good to know
I have an older house and lots of cracked grout to fix! Thank you so much for sharing this information! I'll be sure to check out more videos from you.
Best Practices for wall corners and floor to wall corners in a shower. Do you 1) grout and leave them until they crack? 2) grout and follow up with grout caulk? 3) just apply grout caulk? I have 1/8" grout lines in the tile wall. I'm thinking the grout caulking should be closer to 1/4". What do you recommend? Thanks
Finally found someone that can say all Truth in 1 whole video unbelievable Finally thankyou appreciate it this alot May the LORD ALMIGHTY God bless you AMEN
Is it's anti bacterial Isaac? Never used this before in the uk we would always not grout the transition tile and run a colour matching silicone to make waterproof and flexible. We've never heard of a maintenance joint either. We would leave a expansion strip Or trim if excessive movement occurs. Or if minor movement we would just run a bead of flexible silicone. Interesting stuff. Cheers Matt
In the kitchen around the stove you need a method to keep the walls and ceiling clean. . . the range hood should help but the tile has to be frequently cleaned or it will turn color and dull.
Great video. Appreciate how you show how easy it can be thx. I have a question though, I have a tile floor in my bathroom and it sit on corner of house with two walls are outside walls . I several tiles that sound loose and hallow. If I just clean up the cracks in the grout and re-grout would that be sufficient or should more be done.....?? Thank You...
