I like to keep the green caps from the old globes. I use them when I can only get white globes or to change aftermarket switches to green. I just changed the heater control, gear position and aircon switch globes on mine. I payed closer to 20 bucks each for mine.
Good afternoon Anthony, firstly great informative videos across the the board, they have helped me a lot, thank you for sharing. My question is regarding the comment you made at the 5.26 mark in this video regarding the dreaded Hilux fuel gauge stuck on a quarter tank and run out of fuel, it happened to me at a busy intersection. l have 2015 SR5 Hilux KUN26R. Have you done a video on this topic and when l remove the instument cluster and harness behind it to check the solder joints, should the battery be disconnected before removing the harness to eliminate shorting anything? Keep up the great videos. Thanks.
I had that issue in my '07. I was lucky in that there was a thread on a forum I was on at the time (NewHilux I think it was) about changing dash light colour, and it listed all globe sizes with instructions on accessing them all, so I was able to fix it easily, and I actually changed all my dash lights to red in the process. Pretty sure the thread can still be found via google if it's of interest.
Yeah I have that same problem with that leather thing round the 4x4 gear knob. Every time I clean it pops out. Pain in the butt to get it back in too. Interested in a solution!
I kept changing mine on the same side with a LED whitw light. Somehow it keeps on going off. As if there's not enough power flowing through the panel plating. Any suggestion?
I have a diesel hilux 2012 double cab. My AC speed controller has a problem on the second highest setting… so the off, lo, second lowest and the hi work just fine but the second highest doesn’t work… there is some sort of a loose connection there but I cant fogure out How to fix it..? And cant seem to find spare parts for it. Could you help me figure out a fix for it, please..?
Had same issue with my 07 only it wasn't the globe. It was the contact or lack there of that was the issue. Off topic but your dash mat hangs over air bag haven't seen that before
The temperature knob has a plastic tab on the back that catches the cable bundle , pull the whole faceplate and bend the offending cable bundle away from the rear of the temperature knob
