How to Fix F250 Super Duty Rear Bumper

THANK YOU for this video. It was almost 7 years ago that you made it, but when I searched for replacing the rear bumpers on my 2011 F250, I found you. GREAT VIDEO. It is now 2021, and I am preparing my 2011 F250 for possible sale. I bought the 2 bumpers, L and R. MY truck is 10 1/2 years old, garage kept the whole time, and only has 68,000 miles. It is nearly PERFECT. QUESTION: WHY did you remove the license plate from the plastic cover before removing the plastic? Looks like it could have stayed on and not impacted the bumper replacement. Is there anything I am not seeing?

Thank you so much and after watching your motivating video I did mine a little differently. I've got a 1978 RV chrome bumper so what I did was remove it, cut short 2x4s to fit and literally put a hyd floor jack underneath it between the bottom of the chassis and heated the bumper dent area up with mapp gas then I started cranking the floor jack upward. It was almost perfect with NO chrome removal or wrinkle. I've seen it done before on a commercial up right bearing press and figured a 3 ton floor jack was just as good since I knew the RV chassis would with stand the opposing pressure. Obviously I did this off the drivers side in the middle of the underside chassis frame but betwwen the front and rear wheels. I used a square plastic milk crate to teeter / level the other bumper end. Surely heating it up helped the thin steel 20 lb bumper flex back into shape. Lol!

Does the plastic foot bed pull up easily? Do you remember what and if any tools you used?
