You probably wonder sometimes, if folks pay attention to your videos. I recently followed your Repair video for an outdoor water facet, Woodford Model 20, which a plumber had installed 41 years ago. My wife & I played the video over & over again and our new install worked first time. It would have been prohibitively expensive to get someone else to do this for us. Thank you for the simple clear explanation. Went to Grover's Plumbing to buy Woodford KR 25. Replaced it in 15 minutes. No longer leaks.

Great help, thanks. Previosly a few years back, I replaced the black oring from an Oring I got from Ace Hardware. I tried to match it as best I could. It lasted for a few years, then leaked again. I didn't want to replace faucet because It goes into the wall and I couldn't tell if it was threaded or sweated into piping...I'll get the kit and fully fix now thanks to you.

A few years is pretty good for a cheap O-ring. Hopefully the OEM washer will last longer!

I have one of those pieces of crap, it leaks around the holes where the water hose attaches, I actually have 2 and they both will spray alot of water on you when you turn the hose off

It’s supposed to be an elite faucet, superior to the rest. 🤷‍♂️ If it’s leaking around the holes where the hose attaches, you can replace the Vacuum Breaker (34HA-BR). With my leaks fixed, it does drain a lot of water when turning it off. It is designed to do that to empty a foot of tube inside the house so it won’t freeze and burst.

If it briefly sprays water when you shut it off, then it is working correctly. it's draining the water from the faucet in order to keep it from freezing and bursting during the winter.

It's all relative, so I don't know if the amount coming from yours is greater than coming out of my faucet. It's possible that it's old and the seals on the valve are worn. I was watching this video today because I need to replace parts in mine. I found that the website for Woodford has a troubleshooting guide. Maybe that can give you more insight. Maybe you are missing the vacuum breaker?

Mine does the same, and it will soak you when the water is turned on at the spigot unless you turn it on all the way; so you can't just use a small trickle of water.

I got a repair kit off Amazon and did all this, still leaks. Bought an actual Woodford brand kit and replaced everything, still leaks 😭

Sorry to hear that. Where is it leaking from? The handle or where the hose connects?

@@HowtoandReviewsOfficial From the holes behind the handle. Doesn't make sense with new parts. Threads are clean, the rod isn't visibly bent, and I was careful with the head gasket...

@@m.montgomery6835 All that's left is to replace the vacuum breaker on the left side, but I'm skeptical that it would have an effect. I just want to be able to use a timer attachment, but can't if it's going to leak constantly. Well, if I get results with the breaker I'll report back.
