The LG AC error ch 29 indicates that the inverter compressor current exceeds the allowed limit.
The following are some of the causes of the error
• Poor outdoor unit (ODU) air circulation
• Faulty ODU electronic expansion valve
Now, let's look at the best solutions you can apply to fix the ch 29 error.
Checking the ODU heat exchanger
• Power off the air conditioner.
• Open the exchanger’s cover using a screwdriver.
• Remove any dirt and debris that have accumulated.
• Reassemble the cover and power on the conditioner.
Checking the ODU electronic expansion valve
If the problem persists, try this:
• Disassemble the front covering and control panel’s cover of the ODU using a screwdriver.
• Hold the expansion valve on your hand to confirm it is vibrating.
• If you feel no vibrations, confirm that the eternal board connections are firm.
• Measure the output voltage of the yellow connector on the external board using a multimeter.
• If the reading is not about 220 volts, replace the board with a new one.
• If the error remains, replace the expansion valve with a new unit.
• Reassemble the conditioner’s covering panes.
