This tutorial will help you fix OBS Mic not working or not detected issues on Windows 10/8/7. If your OBS microphone has issues connecting don't worry about it, just follow this step by step guide to resolve this issue.

Thanks, I was wondering why the Mic/Aux audio wasn't working in OBS and not picking up the audio from my webcam. I wasted so much time because I thought it was an OBS issue, but I had to enable "Allow apps to access your microphone" in the Windows microphone settings.

Hello sir, my case is that when I try recording with OBS, sometimes my mic work perfectly fine, but sometimes OBS record only the in-game sound but not my mic. It's very random and I don't know what cause it. Do you perhaps know how to fix this? btw i tried everything you suggest in this video. The same problem still exitst ;___; I dunno why...

hm, ive tryed pretty much all the ways to fix this, and it still didnt work oddly enough, idk what could have caused this nearly permanent issue when it worked just fine a few days ago attempting to make a music cover vid, idk if it was an update, that messed up OBS's system, or something, but unless theres a fix for it i guess im not gonna be using OBS for my second attempt at my instrumental of a song. if anything attempting it today i was torn that i forgot i had this issue before and it continues as i gave up on it days ago..🤦‍♂😞

I have a weird problem, my audio mixer level is trembling constantly, its stuck in -23dB to -18dB and the output sound is like "zzzzZzzzz" I mean its not record my sound and stuck, no matter how much/less sound I do! Can you please tell me what's the problem?

If you are using a cheap headphone mic the problem is probably because is either broken or the cable of the microphone has base somewhere in other words the cable of the microphone is either entangled or broken so now it gives you only the buzzing noise as output. So you should check your microphone on your android phone, install Wave Editor and test the microphone and if the buzzing noise still continues then your mic is broken and if not then you should uninstall OBS and reinstall it again and if the microphone will work again normaly then don't add filters to it. And if it doesn't work again then try changing the microphone jack input port if your PC has two audio panels like front and back, you should try inserting the microphone jack in the back panel of your PC and try if the noise will continue again. I hope it helped!

@@MerkurioBuaI'm not using a mic from headphone. My mic is working fine in android and have no issue there. And I think the problem is not the obs studio because its trembling in the default Windows audio recorder also and gives buzzing noise. I would try to plug it in to the back panel asap! Thanks

All of them didn't work for me.. What I saw is when I talk, I can see the bar spring from left to right under "Mic/Aux" of Audio Mixer in OBS but it just didn't record my voice Are there other ways to fix this?

I plugged in my headset and it doesnt show up as a microphone device. (it has a mic and works on my xbox and used to work on the same laptop.)

Thank you: I've made a playlist called 'settings before windows update' and this vid is going on that playlist. With windows 'so frequent' updates, my settings keep getting reset and like with OBS, if I haven't used the programe for several weeks, then I forget what I had to do to fix issues caused by windows update and its obsession with changing settings. The option inside settings > privacy > microphone, for 'allow apps to access microphone' was what solved the problem. As I followed along I remembered that's what solved it for me before; also, whenever I plug in my microphone I have to go back in and set it as default again in control panel for it to work again. I'll refer to this video next time. Thanks for all the offered solutions.

None of these options worked for me, but what DID work is i went into advanced audio properties for my mic on OBS and set it to mono.

none of these worked i just had a new mic with a stand thing and i connected it correctly into the back and now i dont know what to do from there.. the mic is working i can hear myself and on the sound settings thing for testing the mic but it just doesnt work for OBS and games... tell me how to fix

I had trouble with the mic being too loud so I did what you said and it turns out it was on 100% and when I turned it down to 50% it worked! Thanks!

Second fix solved the problem immediately. My audio levels were more than halved and I couldn’t figure out why. The Mic settings fix worked!👍 10/10 Satisfied Viewer.

Wow great video but amazingly NONE of these worked for me. PC is capturing the mic fine in voice recorder and in other apps, but OBS simply refuses to show it or any of my mics for that matter. No clue what's wrong with it.

haven't tried all yet but I suspect that Microsoft teams is using my mic even if it is off (on close, app will keep running). I still dont know why it just wont work...

After trying everything, I uninstalled my mic. Don't know how to restore everything to where it was before following this video. It's not working at all any more and I am beyond frustrated. I'm at a total loss.

this works the 2nd solution was my problem. I just finished recording 2 hour long video at 10 in the afternoon and my voice wasn't being picked up, turns out I had my mic volume to low and the game was to loud so it overlapped my voice.

Sadly none of these options helped solve my issue, I do see OBS can hear the audio though through the audio mixer, but the audio just doesn't get recorded. Which is strange.

Yup, fixed it. Microsoft has separate switches for giving permission to apps VS Desktop apps. OBS is a Desktop app so the switch is separate. Silly, but it fixed it. Now let's see if I can do the same for my camera.

You know I have 14 subs and the thing is i was making a Minecraft video for the people who support me but then when I checked my obs I freaked out when I figured out that my mic was not working that whole time also what fixed my mic was where you need to update your pc then when the update was done my mic started working I was so glad thank you for helping me with my problem
