Fix pistol jams the safe and right way in a few minutes with this video. I used a semi automatic Glock 19 but this method can be applied to fix any semi automatic pistol jam.

This just happened today to my G34. I realized shortly after purchasing the gun I could not use remanufactured ammo so I switched to factory ammo and had no issues. When I was shooting today I picked a box of ammo that had 10 rounds in the box. It was the remanufactured ammo. A round got stuck just as you said. After watching this video I was able to fix the jam.... Thank you

Thank you!!! My G23 had a live round stuck in the chamber today. The slide stopped short, so I smacked it in to battery like a Hi-point..... bad idea. Anyway, this worked exactly as you showed it on the second slap of the grip. This was a VERY scary and stressful situation to be in. I’ve been shooting for a while, but I’ve never experienced this type of malfunction. Truly, thank you.

You are a lifesaver! About an hour after picking up my beloved Springfield Armory XDM Elite 4.5 from the FFL today, I jammed it with a snap cap. I couldn't believe it. Many attempts to free it didn't work and I was really dreading having to take it to a gunsmith. Your video helped me unjam it with a couple of necessary modifications to the process. I'm a right-handed shooter, but to grip as you instructed in the second method with my left hand was challenging because both my thumb and pinky were injured in my self-defense class from some overzealous classmates. Needless to say, my left-hand grip is crap right now. So the first several tries were fruitless. Then I remembered that for the slide to go to the rear, the grip safety must be engaged. "Well, dang," I thought. Now I need 3 hands and I barely have two as it is. Just then, I recalled the wide rubber band that came with the Ruger Security-9 that I also picked up today. So I looped it around the grip safety and the front of the trigger guard which perfectly depressed the safety for me. So I start again to whack the grip with the heel of my right palm, but I was still having trouble getting enough stability from the left hand to keep the firearm firm because of my injuries. So from the same upside-down position that you show, I pressed my 4 right hand fingers to the front of the grip and used more of my shoulder to force my right palm forward. This gave me much better leverage and force to compensate for my weak left hand and on the second or third strike, the slide propelled backward and out came the snap cap! Thanks so much for this video. You saved me money and a lot of embarrassment if I needed to go to a gunsmith on my first day of owning this particular firearm. I also wanted to thank and commend you for returning to correct any mistakes that you made the first time so that we could all learn how to do this process safely.

All I can say is be carefule when covering the ejection port with your hand. As you said, sometimes you must use a good amount of force to rack the slide to the rear. On one occasion I witnessed, a live primer was detonated by the ejector sending shards of brass into the shooter's palm. It was kinda messy and required a trip to the ER to get cleaned up. It's rare I admit, but it can happen.

If you are shooting reloaded ammo, there is a way to keep this type of jam from happening. Take you barrel and drop each round into it and make sure it goes all the way in. If it goes all the way in it usually makes a clunk and will fall out if you turn the barrel over. If the round is swollen, it will make a different sound and you can see that it slightly protruding out of the barrel. If you push on it, It will stick in the barrel and not fall out when you turn it over. Those need to be torn down or trashed.

That's a weird problem to have. Same thing with both ammo types? Probably not the ammo - I wouldn't think its limp wristing - has anyone else shot it without any hiccups? I'd take it apart and look closely for any obvious deficiencies. Maybe take it to a gunsmith for another opinion if you're not seeing anything or reach out to Glock.

I've had this happen twice in a S&W MP 2.0 and once in a CZ 75 P-01 with Field and Stream 9mm ammo. I found later that some of the case lengths were different and/or bullet seated too far in. It also happened again in the CZ 75 P-01 with Winchester white box.

I was using a lazer bore sight in my Walther Creed to practice my trigger pulls. The hammer dropped and I couldn't get the slide to move afterwards. This video is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you very much.

Work like a charm! Thank you very much. PS I have rubber jaws on my vice and I used that. It spit out my shitty reload on the first whack.
