Our 2017 Zoe's touch screen had stopped working, and then the R-Link kept powering back up after the car was locked - we came back from a week's holiday to a 0% traction battery and associated errors (we'd left it sat on the drive with about 75% in 7 days before)! Nearly resigned to a Renault garage trip, but the trusty 'press the home button as fast as you can' trick worked for us - a full reset has made the touch screen work again and all is powering down (and staying off!) as it should! Thank you once again Matt (and other users who have passed on the home button wisdom!)!!
It was me who found and first documented the home button reset. I've found it to be 100% effective, although infrequently required. Never had to perform a fuse pull.
Hi, thanks. Pressing the home button multiple times worked for me. I was just about to call the Renault dealer and thought I’d look up on U Tube first.👍🏻👍🏻
Had a looping issue on a rental Zoe. No way of stopping it. Pulling the fuse allowed it to restart so thanks for the help. Great video and very helpful.
Im having trouble with my touch screen it wont work got a new battery for the car now its stuck on authentication key and i cant use the touch screen. Please help
Thank you so much! Fixed my bluetooth audio problem with Spotify and my mobile phone. Now i can hear bluetooth audio streaming again!!!! The home button was enough to make my r link work in my zoe. Thanks again. A like from here!
Thanks for sharing the fix. Yesterday evening discovered that the dashboard was still on (sort of idle mode) and RLink system was showing the time. I could switch it on with the “volume” button, but then I discovered that the touchscreen did not work. Long story short, moved the car to our charger (must be weird for the neighbours, as I was moving cars in the middle of the night🤣), charged the car. This morning the car was fully charged. Pressed 5 times (quick sequence) the home button on the RLink and voila, the RLink was working again. When I locked the car, the dashboard switched off. Now wait if the auto lock will activate (locked the car with the remote last night)
Thank you so much this was most helpful, my radio stopped working ,rebooted via setting no good, rebooted via pressing home botton 5 times no good, removed the fuse and yep there you go . Actually phoned renault service for help and they said its £144 to investigate !!!! this was a capture 2015 . they would of charged me that and done the same as me which took less that 10 mins. h
Thank a lot for this video. I watched it now because just today i have been to the local renault diler garage for the reversing camera and they fixed it. But did not want to tell me how they did it🤨
Hi thanks for the vid. My parents bought a kadjar, the radio and usbs have no power. And fuses look fine. Dealer is tryna get it sorted but parents getting frustrated. Ever hear of this? Any easy fix?
thanks for that, very helpful information thats interesting that when you pull the fuse you dont have to put a code in to get the r-link radio to work again . In my wife's Clio mk4 when you disconnect the medianav radio by fuse or from the 12v battery you have to input a 4 digit code to get the radio working.
Did you ever update your R-Link? Because it seems like an old Version to me. Try to update it with the help of the R-Link Store Website and the R-Link Toolbox program.
I have a slightly of topic question. Do you know if it is possible to install an aftermarket camera and reversing radar and have it show in the R-Link system ? I have an R75 Zoé from 2016.
Awesome stuff thanks - the home button method worked on my smart car (453 has the same system rebadged)... Glad it did because getting to the fuses is a nightmare!
Thanks, removing the fuse worked for me. Unfortunately a little late, as I had already bought a new camera. So if anyone is in need of an extra camera 🙂
DAB reception has failed on our 2018 ZOE, Renault dealer tried replacing the aerial base booster electronic unit but that didn't work, now they say its the head unit, Renault Dealer Earranty (carcase plan) have chosen to have my unit refurbished, so we qill be without the head unit for about 2 weeks, is it OK to use the ZOE without the head unit in place? Any issues you can think of?
I bought a 2018 Zoe two weeks ago. I got the authorisation code for the app but it won’t update. The network on the car is disconnected. I’ve pulled the fuse and it still wont connect 😢
DAB reception suddenly became very poor, local Renault dealer diagnosed aerial base signal booster, BUT that didnt fix priblem, now they say its the head unit (screen bit is fine, so they must mean the silver box behind it that looks like a radio box. CarCarePlan have agreed the head unit can be replaced with brand new. My local dealer says the dash has to come out to replace it? I understood it was pull off central display surround, undo connector, undo 4 bolts remove screen & silver box, undo connectors, snd remove the screen & silver box, then separate the 2 components. Is that how you understand it?
Sajnos nincs hálózat( azt írja a számítógép a Zoeban) Már mindent reseteltem , tér erő van de a simet nem látja.Egyáltalán hol van a sim kártya a Zoéban?
Never done it myself. I bought the ODB cable to do it, but then never got around to it and now don't drive a Zoe any more. The information is out there on the net. Join the RZOC group on Facebook.
To correctly disconnect the 12v battery: open the bonnet and all doors are shut (not locked), wait 20-30 minutes (anyway more than 15...). In this time the vehicle will go into 'sleep' mode. Now simply disconnect the negative terminal (in one move! Avoid double touching the terminal) . At this stage the vehicle should be completely dead like absolutely nothing will come ON. In this stage is safely to remove/replace the 12v battery or disconnect the main safety plug from HV battery. You should not disconnect the 12v battery before vehicle goes into 'sleep' mode
On 2 occasions the R-Link has hung and the radio will not turn off at all. Had to pull the fuse. Have pulled the 20A fuse to reset it, not the 15A. Might attach some dental floss to it as it is a nightmare to reach.
hi there! i know its 2020 but still have a problem with back camera.Pulling the fuse not helping me this time. So i've updated R-Link and didnt help too. Somone nows what colud it be an problem? I'ts just is exacly the same situation as on the video above. thx for any advice. My Zoe it 2015 model abd today i've just done R-Link upadte wich didnt help.
Corrosion holds them on tight. Kick it or lower it gently back onto the tyre (without the bolts in) to unstick it. Or if its really stuck, you need to use a long bit of timber as a lever.
what about tele comm, my Zoe show no sim numner after an update. the sim nr. now is 00000000000 i don´t remeber what is was before. but no contact to the car with app.. also i had a issue with Renualt Link, does it even show status on app for battery, and how do i set the ma charge to 80% in this, the model of my Zoe is ZE40 R90 2018
I have a renault megane 2015 and i couldn’t get my phone into the bluetooth system so i restored the factory settings in the car and for a week now the time hasn’t come and the set time thing is always grey so i cant press it. What can i do?
Its been a long time since I've done this myself, so can't help as can't remember....but this guide I wrote some time ago may help you www.gogreenautos.co.uk/how-tos/renault-zoe-updating-r-link Updating was done via the SD card, rather than a USB stick.
Our zoe has recently started saying battery charging impossible. It has been into Renault a couple of times where they have done some kind of reset and they have also done a full computer reset but then it only charges once after and reverts to not charging. The garage said it might be the hardware and we will need to replace the terminal at a cost of £1500! Car is 2014. Terminal doesn’t appear damaged and the problem only started after the garage had done a service on her. Any ideas?
When it doesn't charge are you at home? If you have an earth rod in the ground, empty a bucket of water over it, so the ground around the earth rod is wet. Wait 2 minutes and then try the Zoe again. If it then charges, then you need to improve your earth connection with a second rod or a longer rod to reduce the resistance of the earth connection. The Zoe is sensitive to this.
@@khadineyoga The 12V battery needs to be good too, but I would hope the dealership tested that. Replacement chargers on Zoes are fairly common, so yours may need one. You could always try a Hevra garage as an alternative and probably cheaper place to get your EV repaired. See hevra.org.uk/garages.html
I'm missing the rear view camera settings. So when I put it on reverse it only shows the image of the camera with no guidelines and sensors. The opppsite of your problem here.
Does anyone know how to reset the service interval timer? My car is booked in for a service in a couple of weeks, I now have a bright orange tool symbol which I would like to cancel.
Im having trouble with my touch screen it wont work got a new battery for the car now its stuck on authentication key and i cant use the touch screen. Please help anyone please
Need more info. Which battery have you replaced? The 12V aux battery? The radio security code is on a sticker on the back page of your owners manual. Zoe's don't normally require you to enter a security code if you disconnect the 12V battery, but I suspect that is your problem.
did anyone have a clock problem? mine is missing and i cant set time at all :/ software is up to date... it happend a week ago just like that. navigation shows me the time when i will arrive at destination but main clock is missing.
You need to do the TomTom update using a USB stick. You should have received a letter a few weeks ago. Email me on matt@gogreenautos.co.uk and I'll forward you a copy tomorrow
Go to easyconnect.renault.co.uk/software-upgrade/r-link-evolution and follow the instructions. You need to download a file onto a USB stick (not the car's SD card!!). This video shows you the info ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6SXMEHmfAFE.html
@Kate Chapman I would reboot the R-Link by pulling the fuse. I've had to do this after updating a few as they don't come back after the update. Try that, then if still no better, apply the update again via a USB stick.
@@GoGreenAutos Thanks. Ater all this fixed my problem. I had a problem with one of the usb pins, so it was necessary to solve this hardware problem first.
Please can someone knowlegdably tell me two things re my 2020 Renault Zoe Iconic, as follows: 1) when I got into the car today the screen said there was 196 miles range left but even though I then drove just 2 miles and parked, the figure had i n c r e a s e d to 213...??????? 2) on the door pillar the manufacturer says that tyre pressures should be 38 front and 33 rear. However, KwikFit, who after all are tyre specialists, insist on 33 all round...???????? I'm so konfused on both points that that's why I've spelt the word beginning with a letter 'k!'
The range on the display is always an estimate based on many factors, with recent driving history being the main one. So if today, you're driving more economically than yesterday, the range meter can go up as it as you drive. KwikFit are no experts - just fitters! I don't have a Zoe here currently so can't check, but the tyre pressures are normally higher on the rears than the front. But anyway, go with what the label says, not what KwikFit say.
I’ve driven a lot of cars, and I’m currently using a Renault Koleos as a hire car and it is by far, the worst most broken car I have ever driven. Do not buy one of these utter pieces of shit.
That's only a Windows phenomenon, that you need to reboot your computer. I am using Ubuntu Linux on my desktop PC and I never need to reboot it. Rebooting is just a Windows thing, other operating systems don't need to reboot, because they are coded properly.
You are correct about LInux, but both Android and IOS users are advised to reboot their phone/tablet/computer regularly. Don't know what's inside the R-Link ;-)
