Got a brand new PS5 yesterday, tried all my ps4 games and just won't recognise them. Really loud clicking sounds when the disc is interested. Tried all the solutions , disc interested correct, clean, not damaged, restart but nothing. I guess I'll have to try and return it due to being faulty? Don't trust myself to try and fix it myself lol
Man I’ve had a rough year I got really sick last year and now I’m fully disabled I won’t go into it but I got me a PS five I wanted to do something for myself at least one time in my life since everything goes wrong. Losing everything wasn’t enough, the PS five I got when I put the disc in it pops once then it pops again and nothing happens. No error message to nothing. God I hope there’s something I can do I don’t have a family or any way to get halfway across the city to mail a 15 pound box back I just don’t have the resources it takes I know that sounds crazy, but that’s an undertaking I cannot handle right now. I guess I could buy stuff digitally, but I bought this so I can get the games on disk and watch movies I don’t have another CD in the house I have a Grandtheft auto five PS five game that I bought from Walmart, is the only desk I have but when I put it in the drive I get no error messages I don’t get anything it just pops once it pops a second time and then nothing happens. Do you know what could be going on is there possible a easy fix? Like I said everything is wrong for me so I’m expecting bad news it’s already been a horrible day a day I thought everything would be amazing. Love your videos actually kind of chills me out you know what I mean? I never thought I’d be watching one trying to figure out what’s wrong with this I waited years before getting this in a minute I did this happens
Hey bro. Just to let you know you're not alone. Same happened to me unfortunately☹️ Have you tried sending it back to sonny for repair? You must have the warranty tho.
@@hehehehaw8346 Same happen to me just today Ruin my offday Reminded of why i left sony after their playstation 3's would always break and they wouldn't do repairs with out getting paid a ridiculous price for it. Skipped ps4 got ps 5 last week just had time to set it up and theres no error no nothing issue when putting disc in ridiculouse
@electrovampyre1572 return it to the store and they'll send it back to Sony for repair. It was free atleast for me. But u need the original box and receipt to be able to return it
Does anyone have suggestions for if after reassembly of the disc drive, the rollers DON'T turn freely? All gears are slotted correctly and lubericated properly. If I press down on the moving bar that houses the rollers, THEN they'll spin freely. But when I let go, the gear on the left roller attaches the the other gears and it no longer spins freely...it hust wiggles a bit. Someone help.
Do these types of repairs void the warranty? I got my console at launch and just started having issues with the disc drive a few weeks ago, restarting a few times fixed it last time. But today, I went to upgrade my ssd from 500gb to 2tb, so I took of the first plate, cleaned everything including vacuuming ports, put it back and did the other side. Went to switch the ssd and realized after I took the 500gb out that I needed a heatsink for the 2tb. So, I put the 500gb back in, put the cover back on, went to reinstall some games. Every disc I inserted came up unreadable. Drive was clicking a lot and after a few tries, it refused to push the disc back out. So, I followed the Sony website instructions to use that screw above the drive to move the disc ejector. That did not work until I had the console held almost vertically. Then I finally got the disc most of the way out. Removed it the rest of the way by hand. Reassembled everything again. Put a disc in and it installed. But it was a 2 disc game, so when the data disc was done, I went to swap it and the drive wouldn’t eject. Repeated the thing with the screw but could only get the disc out by lifting it a little with a folded twist tie while I turned the screw. Tried again to insert a disc after that, it would take but not even spin or recognize that there was a disc. Then I gave up and went to youtube. I don’t want to send my console to Sony for weeks or months and pay a ton of money. Can you help?
If your PS5 is still within its warranty period, whether its the manufacturers or extended this WILL void your warranty. In order to dismantle all the way down to the disc drive you have to remove various screws. One screw in particular is covered by a "warranty sticker" which warns you that once removed your warranty will be void. Unfortunately there is no way to remove this screw without removing the sticker.
Hey I broke down the ps5 because my game was not reading disc or saying make sure it’s put in right or not upside down etc now once I’m putting it back together I run to the problem with it’s not evening accepting the disc is like spinning like it’s off track is there a way I can video call u to u can walk me thru the steps plz

Yesterday i started my ps5 and i tried a ps5 game a ps4 game a normal bluraymovie and a dvdmovie and it doesn't recognize anything of that guess i have to see if mediamarkt takes it back xD
I have the same issue,my 4yo daughter put multiple Nintendo switch cartridges in my ps5 disc drive. I think I got them all out (without opening the ps5) but like this video I can’t get my ps5 to read or recognise any discs. Should I try and fix this myself or find a repairer to do it instead?
I just bought a ps5 and ps4 god of war to play before ragnarok and the disk isn't reading, no error or anything just nothing idk how to fix it. No error for putting it in the wrong way either
im having this issue but with 3 games only, 3 of my games doesnt want to read, it seems like they are all ABOVE 90+ gb, games but anything lower seems to read fine, its just these 3 games i really enjoy suddenly doesnt wanna read
Sony and Microsoft are updating system software with a virus malware bug stopping some physical games from working intentionally forcing users to buy digital games since ps4, physical is a SCAM 😮
Firsted off you was putting the disk in wrong the whole time but i can see you did find out the problem cause the Nintendo Switch game was in the disk slot but I'm to scared to take this apart

I press the eject button and nothing happens. It wont take a disc, I dont even get the typical 3 beeps. Everything else with the PS5 is fine. I put a meter on the plug on motherboard that connects to the drive, I get 12v but not getting anything on the 5v pin. Any thoughts?
I'm doing a repair on a similar issue. I had noticed that a small fuse on the underside of the board in line with that 5v was blown. Replacing it didn't fix it however I borrowed 5V from the USB port nearby and did get the drive to take discs again. But it's not reading currently so still trying to figure that out. Fuse was a 0402 size smd with "O" stenciled on it. Found it to be 2.5A fuses from panasonic on mouser.
@@kalmangt2265 Np. Just be careful about the metal shroud used for the cooling. The wire will run right under it. I used heat resistant tape to insulate the solder points from grounding out when reinstalling.
@HE HE HE HAW it was a bit of a double issue. The loss of power caused the disc drive problem. But once I fixed the power, I couldn't get the discs to read. I thought it was a board issue. I messed with some components and got to take and spin discs but not read it. Messed some more, and it stopped taking discs. Turns out that the ribbon cable took some damage from the constant in and out while I was testing it. It's likely that my messing with components caused more damage. Never got the drive to read or take discs but found out it was the cable as the system stopped accepting updates as it couldn't talk to the drive, which caused a system error during updates. I held the damaged cable in a bit tighter, and it allowed the update to process. Replaced the cable and system works as a digital unit.
Jux got me ps5 just here wondering if this 💩 is going to do same as the ps3 and ps4's did .....so obviously and apparently I'll be waiting my turn for mines to eventually start and is it just me but doesn't it seems like the issh starts to tweak when u get nba2k discs or something mines have seems like almost all the time from PS3 to ps4 and I've bought multiple of each of those consoles because of this exact same problem...but if this bihh duz start to tweak out yeah I'm so done with gaming *PERIODTTTTTT*
It’s not working when I download a game and it keeps saying unrecognized disc and it’s clean and I can’t download anything but I can play my games that’s downloaded
Could I get your input on what you feel the issue is by watching/listening to this? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AxuXMIWdviQ.htmlsi=Lp4vKPe6kggZ5obv I don't know if I have to replace the whole drive, it sounds like it is just the laser enclosure. I know the video doesn't show if it is the first issue where the disk isn't going in all the way, but it's not sticking out at all if that's what it would do in your situation.
