thatregularfan same. I might buy another one (something special. Maybe some exotic color, E10000 or Go), just to start my little PS collection. One used for normal games, my actual one for emulators since it already has a few lol.
Thank you for this. I wouldnt have tried this on my own. Walmart sells a Hyper Tough precision head screw bit set that has everything youll ever need for electronic repair. I used that and Liquid Wrench instead of WD40 with the same effect. Now $45 ebay PSP 2000 works flawlessly!
scared of breaking it up, i tried other method, sprayed it with isoprophyll alcohol without removing the metal part and let it sit for a second then carefully move the slider back and forth. and it works 😅

Every time I switched my psp on it would only stay on for 5 sec and then it got worse to 2 sec so I opened my psp and started doing this and notice I didn’t have wd40 so instead I used cooking oil and I thought I was crazy and it cleaned it so well and shiny so I put everything back together and it works so perfect now thank you sm for this vid
How did you put the ribbon cable back into the switch chip? Mine just slides right out even with the little lock mechanism closed and thus won't turn on.
My psp won’t switch on sometimes and when it does no green light comes. It’s always on the red light. It takes like 20 tries to switch on. Do you think my psp is bricked or is it the switch?
I came here to check it out because a PSP I bought the other day has a faulty power switch that works once in a blue moon, and now the PSP is stuck powered on.
You know I’m just trying to figure out what kind of switch this is in my tiny fender, mustang, micro, headphone amplifier. And the switch looked like it for a second I got excited. I don’t know what to do. I am never seen a switch like this it’s so small, just depressing lol
Good work man, but it is not necessary to disassemble all the switch completely you just needed to take some WD40 with a syringe and spray a few onto the open space of the switch and that is it, but I never image that WD40 brings this switches to life.
Will this fix my problem? My psp wont turn on until i take off my battery and put it back on then if its turn on my psp will shut off immediately like 3 seconds then it wont turn on again until i repeat the process. Edit: please reply asap
Hey, buddy, I have to ask what symptoms does this fixed for you? What model PSP was yours? I have a PSP 2001 that some times when tapped, even lightly, will have screen fade to black slowly. I got news about it being caused by a loose metal grid inside and fixed that. Then after a few days I charged the PSP and put it beside me and it started turning on by itself. Then turning off .Now I turn it on but it lasts only long enough for me to enter date and time, then shuts off to never turn on unless I remove battery for minutes.
J0Diaz try this method in the video, my PSP has the same problem. If this doesn't work.. I guarantee that replacing the circuit board for the switch will definitely work. They are very cheaply if eBay

Hey man do you know how to fix a psp that has a new charging port and battery also when the battery has a charge it turns on and works fine but when I attach a charger it doesn’t work also there is no light
Justin Moses yes, you need to open the PSP and push the centre pin into the yellow housing from behind. It sometimes becomes loose and therefore prevent proper contact with the charger. (You're welcome!)
miguelx310 if you've done everything in the video exactly and your power switch still doesn't work, you can easily buy a replacement circuit board off eBay very cheaply.
"Open this metal cover, carefully." Yeah...put the screwdriver under it and it just basically disintegrated. Lol. Guess I'm buying a new board, instead.
what im supose to do if my problem is i can use all the button except square,triangle,O,X and.. yup its been a long time since i play it so when i try to input the date/time i cant accept using my X button
Willy Saputra its some system setting pressing the select button in home screen,but i forgot which one is it,cuz im trying to fix my psp not turning on to😂😂
If your buttons aren't working, try giving them a clean with air duster. If this doesn't work, try WD-40 on the rusted areas. If this too doesn't work, you can easily buy replacement circuit boards off eBay very cheaply. I guarantee that it will work after doing this.
Brandy Parks you can attempt to fix like it shows in this video, but if that doesn't work.. Buy a new power switch circuit board off eBay. Its very easy to replace
hey my power switch doesnt turn on aswell and i tried charging it , no light again but when i take the switch on hold, theres a very little visible light.. what do i do?
