Great video and fixed the problem...saved me time and money...simply took the end of my screw driver...tapped the pump housing and that was all it took to free up the valve...AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!...Thank you!!!!
I'll be dmd if that little tap didn't do the trick😂 ...trying over 4 hours then I found this😂😂😂...thanks for that tip! I'd have never imagined it was that😅
Came here to make the exact same comment. I was a little over 3 hrs into troubleshooting and about to start taking things even more apart when I found this video. A few light taps on the solenoid and we were back up and running. Lifesaver and earned a well deserved sub from me.
I wanna try this on my John Deere d105 but idk how u are starting it while not sitting on the seat. Mine won't start unless their is someone sitting on it and it's just me here
Make sure it is in Park or Neutral and the blades are turned off and then see if it will start with no one on the seat. If that doesn't work you could set something heavy on the seat (flower pot). ONLY do this if it for sure is in park with blades off. If it doesn't look safe to you then I recommend waiting for help.
Thank you sir!!! Mines was the fuel solenoid as well. Unfortunately i had to grind down 1/2 wrench to remove it, clean the pin to make sure it goes up and down freely, installed it back and it fired right up! You are the man!!
Awesome!! You're welcome!!! Sorry about having to grind down the wrench. I had to use an off brand one that was thinner, where had the same problem. Glad you got it running!!
Mine sat at the bottom of the (steep!) backyard hill for over two full days! I wasn't going to try to push it up so I was determined to fix it. I'd run an extension cord down the yard and left it on the charger, since each time I tried starting it (Sunday evening and a couple times Monday) I ran the battery down. Today - Tuesday - a few tiny taps and it roared to life. (Odd that it started Sunday and let me mow most of the lower terrace before dying and then not starting, but all's well that ends well.) THANK YOU!
Just fixed a problem with my cadet zero turn.. zt1 50 .. I was cutting and it just stopped ... Would not start at all but it would crank!! After new plugs , fuel filter, cleaned air filter.. still no fix .. I found out that the spring on the carb choke lever must have got pulled of when I backed into some small trees.. I replaced the spring and it is back to normal! Hope this helps !
So my zero turn won’t start unless it has a spray of starter fluid any ideas on what might be causing the issue. When using starting fluid fires right up but without jusr cranks and cranks
I have old Craftsman DYS4500, not sure of what year, maybe late 1990s, as I bought it Spring 2023 from hay farmer down the road. On my fourth time to mow my 2 acre yard, just as I finished all mowing the engine shut off and has never re-started. Tractor Forum folks think it must be the Timing is off do the sheared key between crankshaft and flywheel. Well, I can imagine this could be problem but that would incur if I had hit something with blades engaged and suddenly shut engine down. I think??? It has good spark both coils, it just will not start even with Starting Fluid sprayed in. Absolute mystery. Please help advise if you have remedy.
Yes, it should have a similar looking solenoid to tap like in the video, it just may be in a different location. Same for the starting-fluid trick, remove your air filter and do the same steps as the video. Good Luck!
Unless I’m overlooking it...the link you reference to the additional video (level 2) isn’t visible while the video runs. Though it was the next video to play in the “auto play” section following...at least the initial time I viewed it.
It did that to me too! On my phone browser it is showing no links, but in the app it does. But on the computer it would show the link but the wrong video half the time. I've deleted the link and then put it back in where hopefully that fixes the glitch. Thanks for letting me know!!
Unless it takes RU-vid awhile to update changes... the missing video link still persists when viewed on an iPhone. I’m assuming all the dandelions have been put on notice that their days are numbered...😉
Hmm, I might need to borrow someone's iPhone to figure this out. Are you watching it on your phone's internet browser or the RU-vid app? The dandelions have not been notified yet... harder to sneak up on them if they know you're coming. 🥷😉
I did some experimenting and research and it looks like the links to the videos do not show on phone internet browsers (iPhone and Android), must be a RU-vid thing. They do show on the RU-vid app if you would like to try it OR I left the video link in the description above as well. Hope that helps! :)
I added bad gas to a 1/4 of a tank of good gas. (Bought gas after a heavy rain in Texas) I drained the gas tank and replaced with fresh fuel. I also added Sta-bil fuel to it. Will not start. My 2018 Troy-Bilt (Horse) riding mower needs to have the brake depressed when you try to start it. I live alone and have no one to sit on the mower and do this while I tap the Carb and spray the carb cleaner in it. What now? How were you able to do that without depressing the brake? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your video. 😆😆😊😊
Are you having to use the engine starter every time you start it? If you use it occasionally it's fine but if you do it every time, then probably need to dig down to what is causing it not to start...Clogged fuel filter or carburetor needs cleaned are two possible problems.
@@Z23goso I figured out my issue after I posted this. My initial issue was the little spring loaded piece of the carberatur getting stuck. But I spent so much time diagnosing the issue that I killed my battery. Which was weird because my volt meter read at 12.3 volts.
The starting Fluid trick worked for me .... I just had my Exmark Zero turn service. Shouldn't be having this issue. A phone call later, the tech says he thinks that the engine is flooding ... but it started with the Starting Fluid. I don't know what to think..... but I'm reporting what worked.
O M F G!!!!! Dude i watched your 2 min video and tried this as my first troubleshooting attempt and it worked perfectly for my problem!! I turned it over for 10 mins solid trying different things and no go. I tapped that little silenoid bowl thing a couple times and it started right up!!! Great Video, Nice Instructions, Perfect Job. Thanks bro! Here's a like and a sub.
I was seeking any help to start my cub cadet with briggs and stratton. Tapped while cranking worked like a charm. I don’t know much about small engines, it’s not my field. You’re video helped me out greatly today! Thank you!
I had to sign in just comment on this and I will be damned it did the trick on my 30 year old Deere JE75!!! Fired right up with the electric start too!! Thanks so much for sharing this. I can’t wait to cut some grass thank you for your awesome and handy knowledge 😄
Helpful video. By the way, a stuck fuel solenoid is easy to diagnose. For my John Deere L118 mower, when my engine key turns the front lights on, I hear a click from the fuel solenoid when my ear is less than 6 inches away (to distinguish the click from another solenoid near the battery). A stuck fuel solenoid won't give that clicking sound (similar to relay clicking).
People like you sir make the world go round. Seriously thank you. Just getting into a lawn business with about 20 lawns and ive had one of these sitting for a long time in the garage because it was over kill for my lawn and i used small push mower instead, gonna get it figured out and use it finally for its intended purpose.
