Well done sir. That vice is acting as a giant heat-sink. Makes it hard to get enough heat to the brush. I have a similar problem on mine, I will try to fix it now.

Hello my friend, I am happy to Read your wonderful comment and great support, thank you so much and all the best 🙏❤️, most of the vacuum motors don't burn easily but the carbon brushes or the bearings warn out or break mostly and both can be replaced restored, I fixed mine and since then still works no problem, but sometimes not everything goes well, thank you and and best regards 😊

Hey there, thanks for this video. I am trying to find a resolution for craftsman 16 Gallon 6.5 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vac. I opened it up and had similar issue where the flexible copper like hose is burnt or disconnected from the graphite pieces sitting in these springs. My issue is the copper wire is completely missing, do you know if I can use regular copper from 16g , keep the shielding or strip it to expose bare wire. It would be copper though much more tightly braided, not sure how this flexible copper connection works.

Hello my dear friend, those copper wires get hot so they must be strip out of any nylone or plastic shield, some of copper wires are shield plated or coated with shield protection, you can use any copper wire as long as same gage thickness so can resist Amp, current, voltage and heat, usually the both copper wires are opposite side so they are far distance from each other , in some vacuum they are close to each other or same side that's why they must be coated or plated with shield, If your vacuum Cooper wires are not close to each other then it should be fine to use any copper wire same gage, some the carbon brushes are connected to copper wires so its important when motor not spinning fast or making loud noise or sparks its time to replace them both, Thank you and all the best 👍
