I have this WiFi and it seems to just crash or not work all summer or when it rains or have bad weather like the upload can be almost 40mbs which is fine with me and the upload struggles to go over 1mbs and right now its like 100kbs. I have reset it 100 times this week it just makes it impossible to game and even send texts or watch videos.
I believe if you get a newer router and put a cat 5 ethernet cable into both the router and your computer speeds will be up to 1000mbps depending on your plan. Hope this helps
I know save your time. Don’t call them all. They’re gonna tell you to do is unplug everything and then plug it back in and that usually works if it doesn’t, you need a new router.
That sounds awesome they do not have fiber optic in my area so what we get is copper DSL which is not so good unfortunately I am hoping in the next year they build out the infrastructure thanks for watching
I’ve tried to get Comcast and other providers, but for some reason where we live, the infrastructure is terrible it’s very old and they’re not willing to replace the lines coming in
If your AT&T isn’t working good you could try T-Mobile they have towers that you can purchase that are made by Nokia that work really well depending on your location good luck thanks for watching
The green cord is from your ATT phone type land and is the incoming feed for your modem so you need that connection, ATT is notoriously slow, In a month or two T-mobile will roll out their 5G network and really put the pressure on Comcast and ATT, also ATT is installing Fiber but at a slow pace thanks for watching
Check at the back of your modem you will that you are connected to ONT broadband so that is why you don’t have the green cable. In your closet you see a white box in there just reboot that box and the modem trust me it will work very good.
AT&T has the worst Internet and in some places they have the best Internet it all depends on the fiber optic cable and what you have coming into your house I have DSL which sucks I only get 30 MB and maybe five upload but I’m hoping that they build out the infrastructure soon good luck thanks for watching
Sir, your upload speed of 5mbps happens since your modem is ADSL, which favors download speed than upload speed.ADSL is widely used in house use and is cheaper than VDSL.
@@TomLeeman it’s not consistent - unless you went with business/premium, otherwise you will have dropped connections throughout the day, and some days may be worse. downloads max average is atleast 200Mbps, but upload average is 20Mbps. though this would all depend on the area/location of the satellite. ADSL or fibre i would recommend.
I would love to have those speeds at the end, cause right now , on a good day I get barely 12 Mbps on upload and .7 Mbps on download, but recently my internet been worse and I'm see .06 Mbps download and .05 Mbps upload a lot
AT&T is notorious you may need to get a new modem I would call them and have them walk you through a test to see if you need new firmware or a new modem
@@TomLeeman we've called at&t multiple times and already had the router replaced once, multiple test, I even did what you did in the video and nothing helps, I've been with at&t for 4 years now and brought them with me when I moved, and now they're the only provider in my area.
Have you tried to replace your 'green' cable? That is the data connection from your modem through the telephone lines to your local central switch. That cable you have looks like it may be been repaired and if the pairs are not correct or the connections are not as good as they should be to the pins in the head then you could see issues like this. Get a new RJ11 telephone cable, that is all that cable is.

A) No, the 'green cable' is *not* the _"data connection from your modem through the telephone lines to your local central switch,"_ it is the connection from your DSL modem to the *DSL jack* in your house/building. B) No, that 'green cable' is *not* a _"RJ11 telephone cable."_ RJ11/12 telephone cables are category 3 (CAT3) voice grade cables. Networking cables such as your green cable are *network* (CAT 5/6) data grade cables which just happen to use a RJ11/12 size connector on the ends of the cable. [Your other networking cables have a standard RJ45 connector on the ends.]
I've contacted att about this trash internet, and whether I live in rural or not they promised 24mbps, and I have similar speeds to tom. This is incredible.
I know this is a super late response Charie, but do you still have this internet? And if so did you find a solution to make it work better. My upload speeds are like .10mbps
@@charles33769 yeah I wish I could get t mobile but fixed wireless for AT&T is the only thing available here. I’ve also been on the waitlist for starlink for almost 2 years and keep getting moved back. It’s so frustrating how in 2022 there are so many places without reliable internet in America.
Att told me we are supposed to be getting the fiber cord soon. Two blocks away from me got it but my st has not yet. They said it one fiber cord. Idk when att will get off their ass and start installing them faster.

With AT&T the max that you get is 50 MB I get maybe 30 if you do a speed test by just going to speed.com you can see exactly what your upload your download speeds are an AT&T is the worst when you’re on DSL but if you’re on fiber optic it’s blistering fast the only problem is they don’t have it everywhere yet good luck thanks watching

Have AT&T send you a new tower and send that one back you should be able to get Wi-Fi off of it although it’s not the best for sure you could also try T-Mobile T-Mobile is only 50 bucks a month

I just got AT&T fiber optics and it’s unbelievably fast. I don’t know why they use these old routers still but they should be putting in fiber soon for you.

I have a couple questions? 1. my Speed Test says Download: 15.41 and Upload 0.63 is that good or Bad!? (Going to Unplug let sit then Redo the Speed Test and post it in a second Comment when done) 2. is a Cat 6 good enough or is a Cat 7 or 8 Better to help maximize our AT&T Experience? (sorry I am not a person that knows a lot about computers or Wi-Fi and ours where his green cord would be is a white cord that says Broadband no DSL or anything Plugged in to the yellow slot and the power supply) our Box does not say U-Verse but I know we have AT&T and The Package says Internet 18 not sure what all that means either just know that some days we are Smooth sailing and others Buffering like crazy!
after unplugging both I went to kitchen did a few things came back plugged back in now my Download says 11.39 and Upload says 0.89 My first Speed Test earlier says Connections Multi Chisholm Broadband, Enid Ok AT&T Internet My second Speed Test says Connections Multi CVEC Fiber Shawnee, OK AT&T Internet so now I am wondering if I did it Wrong or if I need a better White Cord that goes from Wi-Fi to the White Box that is Connected to the wall of our Living Room and also is that the cord everyone was talking about that is a Cat5 that should be a Cat 6!? Att really does care that’s what happens with huge conglomerates, you see they know the chances of the majority of customers will stay. So if they lose what they really know is our little money but what we know is a lot of money to a lot of us. Upload speed is always around 5 to 6. Very typical. I have basic comcast $43.00 a month. Download speed 59.16. Upload 5.98. That is just the technology.
Miami-Westchester Florida, i have 942 mbps upload and download with ATT with connections CAT7, your system looks from last century no body uses ADSL any more and your cables they look to loose also with the new routers wifi 6 you have more protection

AT&T is not good for gamers because their download speed is enough at the upload speed is way too slow sometimes only 2 MB which is not good for anybody playing Internet games thanks for watching
i have AT&T it says my speed is 30 mbps but its literally unusable. most the time im using my cellphones hotspot for faster speeds is so fucking pathetic its unreal and the fact they trap you in a contract by itself is just really bad business i will never use there service again and i will always highly not recommend it for everyone who i may bring up internet speeds with.

This didn't work and it effects my working abilities. I also have Spectrum but it doesn't hardwire without a trip hazard. No one uses the home desktop so I may be getting a second Spectrum modem and canceling AT&T after all these years.
I average 2 mbps download speed and at&t is the ONLY service provider in my rural area absolute scam I'm thinking of calling in tomorrow and complaining

Tell me about it I pays for horrible At&t service and the family, get mad at me like I designed it. But no one in my area I change too because other company, partner with At&t. Where I live, I guess I should say the country. Better the woods would be best for this service.
My At&T really bad it just horrible and what make it worst I live in a complex with other who with this company I am tired of talking about this problem. And on top of that, this cable company the only one who offer service in our neighborhood, what does that means. Just suck it up and and pay out the $ for a shitty service. Absolutely I’ve been waiting for them to run fiber optic into our neighborhood there a couple blocks away so I’m crossing my fingers because I definitely want that fiber optic speed but who knows when they’re going to get it to us thanks for watching
AT&T is supposed to be installing fiber optics in our area which would give us blistering fast speed but it hasn’t happened yet and I may be switching to Comcast
