I have so say. NOTHING else worked for me! I've looked through THE ENTIRE UTUBE TUTORIALS ON HOW TO FIX THIS. and this is the only one that worked. thank u man so much.
One big thing I want to note for those of you having problems with audio. Is make sure you do not have too many layers of audio. Especially if they are empty. If you are wanting to do something simple. Like add music in the background or audio for a commentary. You can render that as an audio file. Then you can either mute or delete that layer of audio. When you import the project file. Then you can add that audio file. Try to keep only 1-3 layers of audio. And if you are including an outro. You can always add that to the project file. Hope this helps.
Try it without the codec. And try to render it in a different format. If you need it in a specific format for some reason. Just use a video converter and convert it to a different format. And what format were you trying to render it in?
Thanks for this mate. This trick with pre-rendering WORKS! I tried everything under the sun, almost gave up on Vegas alltogether, and finally this one worked.... Thumbs up for a neat tip.
I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 13, and I'm trying to render 1 hour long videos, during the render it the percentage just changes. I tried setting it's priority on high. Tried restarting my PC to make it GPU acceleration faster so it would it improve my render. But this doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?
Hey, I was having a huge problem with my PC saying I was running out of memory when trying to render my videos, I had done bigger videos in the past, but for some reason of late, my rendering has been playing up. After watching this video, then trying it on mine, it worked 1st shot. Thanks heaps, and you've earned a sub from me!
You saved my ass. The stuff I do isn't impressive, but It's mine and I worked hard on it nonetheless. I would have cried so hard if that didn't work, thank you so much
Out of all the problems I've heard of. Never heard of that before. Maybe it has to do with where the file is stored if it isn't on your main drive. What kind of file is it? Is it merged or locked with any other files? What you might want to try is to drag it onto a new track by itself. Then go on the left of the track with the icons. Right click and click delete track. That might help.
lol what's with you like repeating things you've already said multiple times at the end of the video. Anyway, I had a 20 minute long 1080p render of Skyrim footage that kept crashing on me every time I tried to render it. I did what you said here and it appears to be rendering but it's still going ridiiiiiiculously slowly, but it IS going. I'm thinking my file size may be way too big when I'm done....I guess I will have to lower the bitrate.
Attention anyone watching this video. I'm happy to know that I've helped so many people. And I really don't regret making this video. (Even though it's bad quality). Because as a video producer. I would hate to have something like the software I'm using to create video's, having problems. And would rather spend more time making better content. Then dealing with problems like this. If any of you have requests for video's you would want me to make. I would love to hear it. And if any of you are doing green screen video's. I should have a tips video uploaded within a few days. (Might be uploaded by the time you read this). That will help you improve the quality of the video. Reduce the amount of grain or blurriness. And to help key *everything* out. And I address problems that people tend to have with green screen video's. Having to do with shadows, lighting, etc.
Hi man I am having a problem wit h Sony vegas pro 12 so I have done a COD Ghosts gun game video with facecam and without facecam it will work fine but when I put the facecam in it will crash almost everytime i hit play My computer is good as well so do you know what to do ?
SqwigglesTeamGamer probably you have your video preview window on a high setting, as you set it to draft and quarter you will probably have no crashes anymore
Your welcome. Makes me happy to know that I've helped someone. :) Plus I wouldn't like any of these problems to keep me from getting a video done either. :)
Well. It sounds like you simply might not be able to use newbluefx. Or you got it configured or working with Sony Vegas in the wrong way. Have you restarted your computer after installing it?
This worked on a previous video but now when I'm trying to render it gets stuck at 18% EVERY time. I have tried a bunch of different ways to fixing it but none has worked yet. Do you know any other way of fixing this problem?
thanks for this tutorial i tried it out but i still have the same problem , i couldnt renderany video since i got sony vegas 11 and i was wondering if there may be another thing i should try
When you pre-render a project file. When you look at it in Sony Vegas. It's gonna be slow. That's just a minor thing that you can't really do much about. But that's why I tell people that if they wanna make changes. Then they need to make those changes on the original project. Before they import the project file. But if you are wanting to put multiple of them together. It might be just better to render them all, then add the actual video files into a project and work on them that way.
You might need to delete a file in that folder for that project file. It should be a SFK file. After deleting it. It might work. Or you can save the project like you normally would. Look for the actual project file. Click on it and overwrite or replace it. That might also help. Or it might be the actual project. Maybe a file has been moved or cannot be found.
Your welcome. :) Makes me happy to help someone. Because I try to consider others situation. And in this case. If I was a working on and editing a video. And If I couldn't render it. I would be upset. Especially if it was a video that I worked on for a long time. Also I noticed in one of your video's that you are using an Audio Technica microphone. Looks like the AT2020. Great microphone. I started using the ATR2500 a couple of months ago. It's a really great microphone. You keep making video's.
All night, all fucking night. I've been spending hours struggling to edit the last few scenes of my stupid montage/machinima hybrid while fucking vegas is crashing every 10 god damned minutes. Then I spent even more time trying (and failing) to render it because it always crapped out around 81% but this vid...this FUCKING vid helped a lot. Of course I couldn't even acess "file -> new" without crashing; I ended up having to crash, restart vegas, then select no on recovery before I could use your technique. It's now 2:47am, all these distractions are keeping me from feeling tired, I'm about 17 minutes from losing control of my life, and I'm once again waiting for my video to render. Not because your technique didn't work, but because I wanted to re-render to make sure the quality was better. Thanks for your help...I needed it.
Oh dude you are a life-saver....working day and night on my little project for three week - would have been a tragedy if I couldn't rendered. If i ever meet you...i owe you a drink.
How does it happen? Does it not even load the transitions section when you click on it? Or does it render but doesn't apply the transitions? Or does it have some sort of error pop up?
That is so strange. Maybe you don't have enough space on your drive. Because remember it creates a file. If not that. Was the project itself having problems or errors before?
Thanks! This helped a lot! I tried to render a project serveral times and every time it stuck at a certain percentage. With this solution there were no problems.
Really weird. If it's an effect that you are using on only one section. Render the rest of the video without it. And then try to start another project and use the effect on just that last section. And if it works. Use both rendered files and put that section where you want. Then render it as a final video. Or might help to start a new project. And try to see if you can use newbluefx on a file. And if so. Depending. Maybe render the project without it. Then use newbluefx on the file you rendered.
Did what you suggested. The re-rendering (import media) worked fine. But then when I 'rendered as.....mpeg' it crashed again at 25%. Always crashes at 25%. Any ideas?
I have a question...Ok so I just downloaded sony vegas pro 11 the other day and I recorded a gameplay, and when I imported the video to begin editing since it's brand new, when I try to edit, it ends up freezing before I even get to edit in another video to make it 1. or when I render it the approximate time ends but it's stuck at a certain % and the elapsed time continues. Do you know how to fix that? Reply ASAP please. And thank you in advance
i need help, when I put this clip into Sony vegas, it freezes when i try to play it. It runs fine in media player, but when i put it into Sony Vegas, it crashes. Instead of showing the clip on the vid track, it is green. Please help
Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem here, I edited a gameplay video that is 30 minutes longs, the playback stops at 5 minute and it only shows thatv last frame at the 5th minute, and I tried to render it, because I thought it was just the playback, but when it rendered, the video stops at the same frame but the audio still goes on, please help me
Didn't help me. I did the same thing how you said, because it kept getting stuck on specific percentage and I opened the project, and when it tried rendering it still gets stuck on a percentage like before.
I just tried your solution but I will have to wait about 3 hours to see if it worked, however, the way things are behaving I believe its going to work. One of the things I discovered in the pre-render was an error on my time line that was introducing 3 additional hours of dead space. This might have been the main culprit but I just don't know. I have gotten to the 18% point... That is further then I ever got before! This method should be more obvious in Vegas instructions! THANK YOU!
Hi I just found your channel. I hope you can help. I bought my Sony Vegas Pro 12 for my Windows 7 64-bit a month ago. I haven't tried to use it but I did the registration. Today I tried to use it for the first time, but after loading for 30 seconds or so, I got a blue screen with many sentences on it (I think it's called blue screen of death). One of those is "Attempt to reset the display driver and recovered failed". Do you have any ideas how to fix it? I use only about 50% of my HD. Thanks!!
I sitll have a problem. I dont really know how it call. I have blackouts in some parts of my video. Sometimes when you place a marker in blackouted place, almoust the whole video makes black.

I have had Sony Vegas Pro 12 since October 2013 and it just started messing up out of nowhere. It freezes when I try to cut a video clip, it freezes if I try to delete a clip, like why does my Sony Vegas pro 12 keep being so quick to go to (Not responding) all of a sudden?
it's whenever i have something installed in sony vegas.. still trying to figure out how to fix tho.. only works when i have nothing installed in sony vegas. no codecs, no nothing other then what it comes with.. :/
i installed xvid codec and new blue fx on it. without them, they are fine.. but with them.. i can use sony vegas.. until i click render as on the top left corner.. then it crashes.. if u can help me out to figure out a solution, id be so thankful
Thanks for the help. I'm using Movie Studio 12 and my video is rendering but then I get a Windows Message that there's a problem and Windows closes the program. I am able to go and watch the rendered video just fine, but only up until the program crash. I just want to make sure of something...when I'm done with my timeline and ready to save my project, do I have to concern myself with those yellow trim markers..in other words do I have to have one place at the beginning and one at the end? thanx
Thanks for this! I couldn't get my video to render at all. I tried increasing my RAM allocation towards Vegas and that usually works but I guess not anymore. Again! Thanks so much!
This program is freaking me out! it keeps chasing before i make video's, When it renders, The video lags after it is done and so on! I try everything and nothing! Copy to a new vegas like a new file! And nothing. i have to edit my video's and everytime hard work is leading to frustration!
It probably has to do with your computer. It's either not that fast. Or just doesn't have a graphics card. At least not an Nvidia one with Cuda technology. And if you do. You might need go to preferences. And make sure Sony Vegas is using your graphics card to render. In order to render much faster in Sony Vegas. It really pays off to have a good computer. That's why most people that do RU-vid tend to have a really fast computer. In order to get their video's rendered and uploaded soon.
my sony vegas crashes whenever I click 'render as' on the top left corner drop down. idk why it does that. its a weird error and i need much help. if anyone knows, please let me know.
Please help me...i dont ave this rendering probleem...i have even worse i use sv11 and probleem is when i drop in a file then it instantly chrases..and even sv doesnt have those media generaator Pictures or so that i can try to drop in heeeeeeeelp

I have Sony Vegas 7 and I keep running into this problem. In Vegas 7, they don't have that drop down menu like it does in the one you have. I have tried searching all over for a way to change it and have found nothing. Even searching the internet drastically. Anyways, if you know of any ways for us old timers, please reply.
I fixed my problem. Just ctrl+a. Ctrl+c. Open new project in a new window while your project is still open. Then ctrl+v in the new window. Then export.
Have never seen that happen before. So it's not likely caused by using the method in the video. Probably is being caused by something else. Maybe you rendered in a different format or with different settings. They might have a much more drastic difference than expected.
increase the bit-rate on the video. also check other settings Custom template/project settings/change quality to "best" when rendering...thats about as much as i can help im still a bit of a nub myself with vegas lol
You might have to redo the whole video. I have had times when things like that have happened. And I remade the video. And to save time. I had Sony Vegas open on two Screens. And I kept going back and fourth and making sure everything is the same, save it. And for some reason it worked. And maybe all you need to do is go to transitions on the video. And make sure they are checked off and not unchecked. Sometimes we forget to recheck them.
Hey wat you said worked but for a bit at first my computer would freeze when it got to 15 % but now it freezes when i get to 59% so is there anything else i can do?
i have everything ready, then try to render, everytime its a green box in the preview screen until i get to the transitions. then it freezes, but i tried with a different project, and it worked, just this one video wont render the transitions, its kind of hard to explain
