Had this happen a few days ago and couldn't even get the tiniest flathead to push the detent back in. Had to loosen the castelnut on the buffer tube, carefully pull back the little plate so the spring didn't go flying out and then I was able to wiggle and push the detent back. Such a hassle.
I have the first problem you spoke about but the spring is not budging using your method and I don’t want to damage the gun. Any ideas. The upper is raised off if the lower and won’t seat so that could be putting more stress on the spring keeping it from going back in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Trim the detent or file it down a couple mm. Mine is so much smoother now. Gunsmith showed me that trick not too long ago. Just don’t go too short or it won’t hold the takedown pin tight enough.
This help a lot I had a hell of time trying to fix this problem this is my first AR-15 and Juggernaut hell fighter kit thanks to this video I managed to fix it and my system works flawlessly after I got the hang of how to treat the pin.
I'm hoping pry marks on the pin opening and detent pin finish/coating being kinda shaved off while forcing it back in didn't damage my rifle. I just bought my LWRC that I worked very hard for with this installed. 😓
For those of you like me who can't get a screwdriver to fit, try to apply pressure to the detent pin by pulling a little on the hellfighter pin when you are pushing your screwdriver so the detent pin is supported and doesn't push away from your screwdriver or bend. It took me an hour and a half of trying before I fixed it. I hurt my fingers pretty badly and the hellfighter pin did not function properly after the first reassembly. I had to take the pin out and put it back together a few times. Aluminum shavings from trying to get a screwdriver in between the detent pin and the side of the hole were jamming the hellfighter pin and preventing proper operation.
I hate cleaning my AR because of this smh first time I lost it in my living room and took 2 hours to find second time I lost in the desert and took 5 hours to find
I have this issue every time i try to clean my AR, I unscrew the knob on the other side, remove spring, push in pin slightly, turn counter clockwise until it clicks, then attempt to pull it out to release the upper. Still doesnt release from the rear, I usually pull the pin out too far and the pin pulls out of the gun. Is there a trick, I tried dropping a bit of lube down the indent for the pin to slide more effectively but still have an issue with either the parts attached to the upper receiver not pulling out due to the takedown pin not extending all the way, Any advice? I am a pro on re-attaching the pin by sliding my bore snake metal piece through the holes while using a tiny tech screwdriver to hold the pin in, but its frustrating as F&*%. Any help will be appreciated
Very frustrating as it took me over an hour to place that pin on the right spot and rotate it to it’s home. Just make sure to not pull or over extend it as that pin pops out.
I usually take my castle nut off, slide the plate off just make it fall backwards, reassemble, done. Doing the flat head screw driver thing is hard because you can damage your pin thing to pray it back into place. Honestly I LOVE the idea. Not sure if JT was first, but I'm thinking of switching to a different Maglock, if it means this won't happen. One thing that can make it slightly easier to operate the JT pin, is disassemble from BACK to FRONT.
I want to know how to remove this feature and the mag lock feature from my brand new juggernaut rifle I just got. Soon I will be moving out of California, so I won’t need to have this on my rifle anymore. Just trying to be a step ahead... also, on my rifle I’ve had for about an hour now, with no shots fired thru it yet, the safety/select fire switch is VERY tight/sticky/difficult to operate with just my thumb... will that loosen up/go away with time and use?
Just had this happen to me. Was able to fix. Makes it easy when you use a blade and if you put the rear take down pin through the other side so it pushes up on the detent
i added this feature thru a gunsmith but 1 day later I destroyed the whole thing trying to fix the detent, it was such a headache, waste of money. the springs popped out, everything was a mess. i just went featureless. not worth getting an ar15 in CA
I keep having the second type of malfunction shown. I can't push the detent pin back into the receiver without loosening the castle nut and plate. What is the length of the detent pin supposed to be? It seems like mine is too short. Anderson lower with Anderson lower parts kit.
So I had this issue. The pin fell out and I bent the spring, I took the spring out and was able to get my upper off.. do I need to send my gun in to get fixed now or will I be ok?
The problem is for me is that it won’t push out, I have too snack it with something too come out, and pushing it back in won’t even go back all the way unless I smack it in, and it won’t break the action
Yeah, this bruh makes it look easy! I bent the pin and had to replace it. Detent is soft metal and a "small" flathead barely fits squarely on the pin. Got it back in but now the action doesn't break far enough to release the mag. wtf
I see the silver thing where it’s supposed to be and it won’t push in or pull out for that matter. Gun won’t even break open now pin is stuck! Nothing but complaints on the internet about the hellfighter. Go figure...
honestly this is such a horrible CA compliant solution. absolutely nothing but issues. from this, to the BCG getting stuck on the magazine follower, to not having a bolt catch. AVOID THIS PIN/MAGLOCK
Update: I ended up getting my whole detent pin out and just took the whole rear locking pin out. Will my lower be okay to strip it down and reinstall the pin? I really do not like this locking pin.
@@RickyMontijo I finally messed around with it long enough with a tiny precision flat head screw driver and got it back together. I wanted to smash my fist through my drywall a few times tho. I hope I never have to do that again!
Why in the hell is this pos on my $3500+ hk mr556. Gonna swap it out for a fngr setup And put this on a pos ar15 I’m gonna sell on gunbroker. Nothing like firing two faulty mags out of a brand new gun then getting frustrated and shooting your featureless scar 20s anyways. I was almost thinking it was H&K’s fault but I guess it kinda was for this being factory
I like how you magically just pull the pin back as if it’s simple. Why would you make it so that it pops out of detention so easily. That’s why this Juggernaut sucks. So many itty bitty movements can make everything a pain In the ass
This thing is literal trash. It's flipped the other way for me so can't rotate it and its pushing the pin upward so cant get it to go in or come out. Don't buy this thing guys
the only issue i've seen with this whole kit is that when the bolt locks open on last round, you have to risk injury to get it to release so you can break the action to drop the mag. it's the stupidest thing i've ever seen. if you're in a bad situation and need to fight for your life, this kit is going to make a bad situation worse... CA is stupid with its laws, you guys at juggernaut are just doing your jobs, but the people that run CA are just making it easier and easier for the criminals to win... is there a way you can fix this issue so the bolt doesn't hold open after last round or do we just need to accept our fate when, god forbid, shit hits the fan???
Worst engineering design ever. If you don’t hold and apply pressure at the exact right angle it’ll pop the detent. Only way to fix it is to undo the back and that the spring out and stick something in to push the pin back which is almost impossible.
