How to Fix the Ice cube Tray in the Ice Maker in a Samsung RF 266 Refrigerator

Wow, I was trying to figure out my moms lower ice maker and glad you Posted this. I was looking in once I got everything g defrosted and thought there were two ice trays, one with an electrical cord hanging off but it was actually the one trey broke in half. Thanks for the video. I was able to reset mine because of your detail on how to take it apart. Before taking it apart, there is a button right in the center of the bottom of the front side of the ice maker. Holding it in will activate the complete cycle of dumping the ice and filling the tray with water. In my case, everything worked but the water fill. The end of the fill tube had frozen water make an ice obstruction that had to be cleared. I broke off as much as I could and using a flat-head screwdriver to clears out the rest. Of course, I had to wait for a bit in-between for the ice obstruction to melt a bit. Still waiting to see if it will complete the cycle before declaring it fixed. Thanks again!

This is the exact problem I had. This vid was the most helpful out of many others. I found a good way to keep ice from building up under the bin and causing the Maker to slam against the bin/drawer is to just duct tape the top of the back of the bin to the drawer. It isn't pretty, but how many people are going to look at the far back of the freezer drawer?

hi tony, thanks for the great video on RF266 ice maker issues. we have the same model which now has problems. you mentioned the other video that described the loose sensor wire that was dangling? couldn't seem to locate the video on you channel. could you give a brief description of where it goes. thanks so much for making the videos.

This looks to be the same ice maker as on my LG fridge freezer. Thank you for both vids. By far the most helpful of the 20 I watched today. mine works, but since replacing an inline filter a while ago, ice cubes are too big and staying stuck in groups of 2 or 4. I'm thinking more water flow is causing this since my old filter was more than too old. Any idea how to make cubes smaller?

Hey Tony. TY for the reply. All the above was checked. In fact after defrosting the fridge, the motor is silence, the ice maker on top works well, however the water does not dispense in the freezer chest (bottom) area. You think the line into the Freezer section frozen? Please advise TY

Isn't there an arm that registers the ice tray is full so this doesn't happen? Or is this before they implimented this design I mentioned?

I don't see your video on where the sensor goes, did you remove or delete the video? I need to know where that goes...

Have you had the issue of where it looks like the tray is filling up with to much water? That's my issue and it comes out stuck together the way it forms in tray.

Everything seems to work with the motor turning, but the only way I can get the ice to release from the tray us to use a hair dryer to warm the tray, then it will go through the entire cycle of ejecting ice and refilling. Is the sensor the problem?

we have our replacement ice cube maker in, but we have lost the screws. when we contacted the parts they said that the screws are part of the refrigerator and part of the ice maker. would you happen to know what kind of screen are needed?

I dont get why You do the repair INSIDE Your fridge... take it out, and close the doors, until Your are ready to mount it again.
