Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L50 A. When I turn it on, it instantly shuts off with a single beep similar to when you shut down the laptop. I did realise that it lacked a CMOS battery, which there was a slot for. Would it be the CMOS that caused the problem?

what would i do if its beeping but it proceeds to windows desktop, it takes a lot of time to get to windows desktop because of the long beep in startup, hpe you could reply sir,

mine (its an old one) beeps very loudly evenly about every 1/2 second until it stops when the windows screen starts to come on and then its fine; it seems to do this for a while then stop, but has just started again after some months

Hi all, just to share my experience, after searching the whole web, i finally found a solution for me. My problem was a continuously beeping, i swap ram sticks, replace hard drive, turn off network, disable wifi, etc , etc. And the solution was very simple. Gosh, only need to disconnect the keyboard and mouse from laptop. Voila, that's it, i use a usb key/mou solution. So easy i cannot see it , hope helps somebody.

Hello, my Toshiba is a Satellite L 740, and the beeping sound is continuous at startup there's no pattern! And I see a blinking light along with it under a sphere icon in the front, it keeps beeping until the user password's icon shows up then it works fine... What could it be?

Mine's an older Toshiba laptop the second it turns on it's a continuous beeping I don't even get to the login it just keeps saying continuing repair after about five minutes of continuous beeping it stops for about 1 minute then it starts up again doing the same thing.

Hi, my laptop is almost 5 years old. It starts beeping after you use it for like 10 mins, and then freezes. The beep is continuous so i couldn't i dentify it. I already opened it up and couldn't find the issue, i already replaced the hdd and reseat the ram. I also noticed that the thermal paste is almost dried up. Can anyone give me advice?

Heyy I don't know what's wrong with my Toshiba C850 lap. It beeps indefinitely and stops maybe after 30 mins or so(and now it doesn't even stop.) Automatic repair starts and fails too. Can't reach upto the lock screen of the system. I tried switching up RAMs and also did try to clean up the RAM. But the beep sound doesn't stop. Pls help me out!

Check your keyboard. I just had this problem with a continuous bleep, so I disconnected the keyboard and connected a USB keyboard just to get the system going. Problem solved until I get a new keyboard.

I have a Toshiba Satellite C855D that has expensive irreplaceable software on it. When attempting to start the laptop will do three long beeps followed by two short beeps then repeat. I have tried swapping RAM and a CMOS BiOS reset with no luck. Thoughts on what to try next? The ram came from a working laptop so I know the RAM is good.

1 beep - DRAM refresh failure. There is a problem in the system memory or the motherboard. 2 beeps - Memory parity error. The parity circuit is not working properly. 3 beeps - Base 64K RAM failure. There is a problem with the first 64K of system memory. 4 beeps - System timer not operational. There is problem with the timer(s) that control functions on the motherboard. 5 beeps - Processor failure. The system CPU has failed. 6 beeps - Gate A20/keyboard controller failure. The keyboard IC controller has failed, preventing gate A20 from switching the processor to protect mode. 7 beeps - Virtual mode exception error. 8 beeps - Video memory error. The BIOS cannot write to the frame buffer memory on the video card. 9 beeps - ROM checksum error. The BIOS ROM chip on the motherboard is likely faulty. 10 beeps - CMOS checksum error. Something on the motherboard is causing an error when trying to interact with the CMOS. 11 beeps - Bad cache memory. An error in the level 2 cache memory. 1 long beep, 2 short - Failure in the video system. 1 long beep, 3 short - A failure has been detected in memory above 64K. 1 long beep, 8 short - Display test failure. Continuous beeping - A problem with the memory or video.

I took one ram out and it was still beeping I took the other out and it has turned on but I have a black screen Please helppp
