Thanks for sharing! Because of your video I was able to know which part to order & how to fix our same issues on our 2007 Sienna. lt looks like it's easy enough that I can attempt it myself. I got the parts ordered & now just have to go to Walmart & get the tool set. Very helpful!

Make sure you get the set that has the T 30 star. Or you may already have a replacement tool laying around at home, the Ikea Allen key works sometimes if it's the right size. try it on the front door first and let us know

@@PickyOne Because the left sliding door wont totally close, (latch problem) the light stays on and it drains the battery. Can I disconnect that door switch or do something so the interior lights wont stay on ?

1. Check the gap size caused by the latch problem and try to compensate it by sticking (gluing)a piece of plastic on the spot that touches the sensor. 2. or you can just disconnect the sensor but it will prevent the light from turning on. 3. or you can use the kill switch on the dash near the radio but it will kill all the lights and you need to remember to do it every night.

@@PickyOne........... thank you.... the cause: ....the sliding door latch is whacked, preventing it totally closing, which keeps the lights on, which drains the battery ! I will use the kill switch, or disconnect the sensor. thanks again

Thanks a lot for this video. I had this exact issue with the lights, and fixed it thanks to your video. And bonus, it also fixed the so-annoying locking doors that I have been chasing for a while! Only different thing I did is that I didn't want to wait for new switches to come, so I just took apart the existing ones and cleaned them. The only reason thye stopped working was because they oxydized a bit on the contacts. After a bit of cleaning and di-electric grease application, they are like new. And that is better quality than chinese switches.

The reason the rear ones go bad is because the sliding doors does not protect them well comparing to the front regular doors. If I didn't have the switches available and reasonably priced at my local Toyota dealer, I would have cleaned them and swap them to the front doors and take the front door switches and put them in the back.

Should I repair a 2008 sienna with 170k miles that needs wheel bearings, shocks and sway bar links ? Everything else is working great

I did my front wheel bearings at the dealership at 105K for the L and 115K for the R. The front struts top hats usually go bad due to rust, so I went with the complete strut assembly (coils and shocks combined). I installed them with a help of a friend at 126K. I went with Auto Zone Duralast with life time warranty from my local store , yes local store not online delivery, so I can match the old part with the new one.. Be careful buying online as there is a common mistake in mixing up the 8 passenger with the AWD models, as the sway bar link hole is not accurate. Mine is 8 passenger but I ordered a 7 passenger part. I f I ordered 8 passenger they would've shipped me an AWD that comes with sway bar link hole an inch higher. Good luck.

If you are doing it yourself, absolutely. Bought mine at 170k with a bit of repair too, very strong vehicle and easy to maintain.
