Why is my flash drive saying it's full but is empty? Many people ask like this. The reason including the USB drive isn’t properly connected to the PC, the USB drive contains malware or corrupted data, you have accidentally hidden the data on your USB drive, etc. So, how to fix the flash drive not showing files?
Solution 1: Show Hidden Files: Connect the USB drive to the PC and open it. Then, tap the “View” button at the top menu bar and simply tick the “Hidden Items” checkbox to show any hidden files.
Solution 2: Run CHKDSK Using Command Prompt: Open the Cortana search box and type CMD in the search bar. Right-click “Command Prompt” and tap “Run as Administrator”. Type “chkdsk C: /f/x/r” and press the Enter key. Make sure to replace “C” with the USB drive’s drive letter. CHKDSK will automatically troubleshoot any system errors and show the current status of the USB drive on your screen.
Solution 3: Check USB Drive for Errors: Right-click the USB drive and click “Properties”, switch to the “Tools” tab and tap “Check” under the “Error Checking” option. Let the system automatically diagnose the error. Check your USB drive again and see if it is showing the data or not.
Solution 4: Scan the USB Flash Drive Via Antivirus Software: in this case, you can use an antivirus program to scan the USB drive and remove any malware.
Solution 5: Format the USB drive: Connect the USB Drive and go to "This PC". And then right-click on the Drive and choose "Format". On the Format box, configure the process according to your requirement, and click "Start".
That's all the possible solutions that you can try to fix USB files not showing but space used problem.

I wonder if you could assist me. I have downloaded a digitizing app onto my desktop, i copied it onto my external to use on my laptop. I see all files but the program is not opening. The app ran previously on windows 7, my desktop runs on windows 10 and laptop on windows 8.

please i need help and i cant figure out how to google this or find a solution but... i got a new camera a while ago and formated my sd card so it will work. with my old camera I could just grab and drag videos from my sd card file on my computer and add them to my home screen or wherever I needed them. now with this camera the sd card opens a file that have many different files that are all empty. i just don't know what to do. ( I'm using a sony cybershot camera, memory card is also son, iPad pro 12.9 and mackboo)

Help to open files in my NTFS fold. I recovered files from my external drive using RecoverIt. The recovered files are into 3 folders namely, NTFS, RAW and ExFAT. Only files in the NTFS folder are correctly named but unfortunately, none can open. Files from the RAW folder have labels such as 0000001, 0000000123 etc which makes it difficult to know the content until you open.

Went to a Photo shop to download a photo, the shop accessed my usb drive and later when I got home and tried it on my computer, all my files were empty, the drive showed it had 5 gig of stored files but when clicked, it showed no file. Here is the way I found workable: control panel, file explorer options, show hidden file (check), then hide protected operating system files (uncheck), then apply and ok, you need to do this twice in order to work. Do not format, because all files will be lost.
