VCRUNTIME140.dll is Missing Error , Errors related to vcruntime140.dll can arise for a few different different reasons. For instance, a faulty application, vcruntime140.dll has been deleted or misplaced, corrupted by malicious software present on your PC or a damaged Windows registry.
The most commonly occurring error messages are:
The program can’t start because vcruntime140.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
There was a problem starting vcruntime140.dll. The specified module could not be found.
Error loading vcruntime140.dll. The specified module could not be found.
The code execution cannot proceed because vcruntime140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
vcruntime140.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vender for support.
In the vast majority of cases, the solution is to properly reinstall vcruntime140.dll on your PC, to the Windows system folder. Alternatively, some programs, notably PC games, require that the DLL file is placed in the game/application installation folder.
Step 1
Open the zip-file you downloaded from DLL-files.com .
Extract the DLL-file to a location on your computer.
If you are unsure about how to extract your zip-file we recommend using File Viewer Plus 3. With it you can open your zip-file as well as over 300 other file formats (like video, music, images, pdf etc.) It’s a handy tool to keep around.
After extracting your zip-file, place the extracted DLL-file in the directory of the program that is requesting the file. Make sure to use a 32bit DLL-file for a 32bit program, and a 64bit DLL-file for a 64bit program. Failure to do so will likely result in a 0xc000007b error.
Step 2
If that does not help your problem, place the file to your system directory.
By default, this is
C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me),
C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or
C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10).
On a 64bit version of Windows, the default folder for 32bit DLL-files is C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ , and for 64bit dll-files C:\Windows\System32\

I have a 64-bit machine but the software was looking for the 32-bit versions of the *.dll (two of them). So, after spending a lot of time trying to figure out why my software was STILL not working even after I'd installed the 64-bit files in the right place, I ran across another person who had the same issue. He said to just upload the 32-bit files and put those in the right place. Done. Everything works now! Hope this helps.

Im trying to paste the 32bit file into SysWOW64 and it doesnt work "The action cant be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program" I have tried closing everything and it still doesnt work,am i doing something wrong or does my pc have a problem?

Thanks a lot, even after downloading Microsoft Visual C++ and seeing the VCRUNTIME and MSVCP files in System32, the problem was not fixed yet. Pasting the dll files in SysWow64 resolved the issue. Thanks again!

Currently, whenever i paste my file in system32, it tells me i dont have permission to perform the action. there ther anyway to avoid this? i have opened the explorer as an amin through task manager.

Hey I have a question, after already 2 years you posted this video. When I want to copy and paste the VCRUNTIME140.dll, it says that it can't replace the folder, because it's open in another program. But there isn't. I already tried to look in " recource monitor" But there is also nothing to be found.. Do you maybe know anything about this problem?

Go and restart your pc try again , if its alredy open try to runn pc on safe mode , or find that file on task manager and end the process with right click

Hmm try to restart your pc and the 1rst thing that you do , do this process ! If you still see that error try to do this process on safe mode on your windows

It's because your 64bit file is working properly and it's your 32 bit file which is missing, try 32 bit file in the location specified in the video

Hmm open up task manager , go to processes and find this process with the same name and right click and kill the process.(end proces now) And repit the copy and paste again

Will factory resetting my pc and choosing to redownload the original windows files through the cloud restore the original dll files I’m guessing they were overwritten when I jailbroke my wii and replacing them doesn’t seem to fix the issue. for anyone having the 'open in another program issue' follow these steps cos no one with a big enough brain could explain throughout 2 years of this video being out. first of all, locate the original dll file and hit delete on that-it'll say its open somewhere in 'nvidia container' or 'nvidia web service' just open task manager and locate those processes, then continue to forcefully end the those tasks and try pasting the mentioned dll files into the folder and it should work. make sure those processes are ended otherwise it wont copy over. thank me later
