You saved me time and effort trying to fix my laptop. I have a Dell 3558 (Inspiron 15 3000 Series). I had to replace a malfunctioning DIMM chip (Note: NOT a RAM upgrade, just an 8gb replacement) and the keyboard did not work upon reboot. EXCELLENT PROCEDURE!: Only one caveat. I itemized your procedure into 12 separate 'steps' and was unable to be successful 'on the fly" BUT.....if you reboot right after closing the regestry editor, the system was able to find the correct driver. Thanks a bunch!!

i have a problem with aveocap(camera) when i try to open the aveocap it show error"you have no video capture device" and when i try to update camera driver it shows "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. One correction : After making registry changes if keyboard drivers are already installed ,uninstall them and restart the PC and automatically it will scan for hardware changes and install new keyboard driver and then it will work 100%

For me, all I needed to do was go to the 2:59 mark and install all the drivers missing from my USB ports after a power outage disabled all of them on boot. For anyone having this problem where your computer boots to the lock screen but you can't use any of your USB ports (mouse and keyboard work in the BIOS (press a function key like F2, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, or DEL (on the MSI motherboard BIOS go to the setup if you press F11, also useful to switch between hard drives with operating system installed or booting to a USB stick with Windows installed))), just go ahead and reinstall the device drivers following from 2:59, and then repeat this process for any devices that have that little yellow warning sign and the "Windows cannot start this hardware device 'Code 19' configuration info damaged" error message. Have a great day and get back to work! ; ]
