How to fix Wireless Fast Charging Issues

When I first picked up the Note 10 Plus, I wanted to try Fast Wireless Charge. However, I encountered a few problems along the way. In this video, I go over some of those issues and give direction on how to correct them. Links to the products below are affiliate links.
These are the wireless chargers shown in the video:
Samsung 15 watt Fast Wireless Charger Stand: amzn.to/346eKSR

Yootech Wireless Charger Pad: amzn.to/33YmoyV
I use the 15 watt charger by my bed so that I can use my phone's always on display as a clock. I use the 7.5 watt charger on the kitchen counter for anyone who needs it, and I use the Yootech charger for my travel charger. It is great for shoving in the backpack and taking on quick over-nights out of town.
Here are the items that you want to check in order to fix you wireless Fast Charging Issues:
1) Can your phone be charged using a fast wireless charger? Make sure it has the capability and if so, that you turn it on.
2) Is the wireless charger you are using capable of Fast wireless charging? Whether it is a pad or a stand, make sure it is designed for Fast Wireless charging.
3) Is the power brick/wall plug capable of delivering the proper power to the Fast wireless charging device? Make sure you use the proper power brick/wall plug adapter.

Thanks for watching. Most 'Fast' wireless charging issues deal with compatibility rather than specifically an issue with a device. Sorry it didn't have the info you needed. What are you specifically dealing with?

Solid video, straight to the point! I do have a Samsung wireless charger by my bed side, and I noticed it's never charged my phone with fast charge, I bet you the wall adapter is not fast charge capable. Ive never really looked into it since the phone is typically resting on it overnight, but this definitely gives me something to think about. Im gonna check it out and try this. There is an accessory for cell phones that will add wireless charging to a phone that doesn't have it. The accessory plugs into the USB port.

Turns out the cord that came with the charger was just faulty, so I used the cord that came with the phone

Mine shows fast wirelessly charging but takes more time than what is says it'll be full.. Like +2 hours for eg.. Any idea about that?

Sometimes heat is a factor that slows things down. It might try to fast charge but if the phone battery or the power supply gets too warm, internal protection slows the charging.

I have the 'round' Samsung brand charger that for years worked great and it does show "fast wireless charging" but all of a sudden it's charging extremely slow.

What should i do: Iphone SE top part of charger lodged inside, tried getting out, doesnt work chargers dont fit in fast wireless charger stand (which is shown in video) flashed blue and green when phone is put on phone is dead is it because the iphone se should be used on a different wireless charger or...? what?

U should of looked up at least to 2 other brands not a Samsung which is always got more settings than the other Samsungs. I was entrigued, Mine registers the device, they just don't charge. Thanks for the vid. I gave a thumbs up It was useful in a way. just not what I was looking for exactly.

If I understand you correctly, you can put your device on the wireless charger and it seems it, but it won't charge the device? If that is correct, I recently bought a Belkin wireless charger that came with its own power brick and wire. You could set the phone on and it would make the sound and animation like it was charging but no charge. Turns out the power brick they sent with it wasn't strong enough to make it work. I would suggest trying another power brick, perhaps from another wireless charger that does work. If that's not it, let me know and I'll try to get you pointed in the right direction. My samsung fast wireless charger suddenly stopped fast wirelessly charging. Wtf? I've changed nothing but can't get it to fast charge. I thought that maybe the cable was getting old so I put a new 1 on but it still says wirelessly charging not fast wireless charging. Could the adaptive wall charger have gone bad? It must be the adapter fast wall plug that went bad or the micro USB cable just doesn't have enough thorough put to handle fast wireless charging. Any thoughts?

I always check the power adapter first. The cable definitely can be an issue but if it worked before, the same cable should continue to work unless it is damaged.

Agreed. This makes no sense, it still is charging but not fast charging. Again nothing has changed. I never move my charger or muck with the cords. Thank you for response.

My wireless charger was Fast Wireless charging for months then randomly stopped. Didn't change anything. Even when using Cable Charging. I firmly put in the cord and it will say Fast Charging than quickly switch over to Standard Charge... Why?

Mine, while charging, keeps switching back and forth every like 10 seconds between fast and regular....anyone have any ideas on why/how to fix?

@@ContractorsPOV I have one at home and one at work, both are from different manufacturers and both have all the fast charging capabilities/cables/bricks. They both do the same thing so I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the phone itself

@@DEITYofSTEALTH I have seen my Samsung phones charge at different speeds based on how much charge I had when I put it on the charger. If it was under 20%, it would fast charge the whole time. If it was over 50%, it wouldn't activate fast charging. Do you have a case on it? I've had that be an issue as well.

I bought an onn charging pad for my lg rebel 4 lte and it "looks" as if it's charging but does nothing.. Is my phone to old for fast charging?

I do not believe that the Rebel 4 is qi enabled. It doesn't have the ability to be charged wirelessly.

Wireless chargers make a device more unusable than a wired charger. The only real use for them is while you're sleeping or when driving. Other than that, dumb

I am still having an issue. I have the official Samsung convertible charging pad and using the fast charger brick and cable supplied with my s105g and I can turn on fast wireless charging in the settings and as soon as I put it on the pad it actually turns the switch off for fast wireless charging. And its not the charger because it does fast charge when I plug it in directly. Any help??

Just to make sure I have this correct, you're not getting a 'Fast Wireless Charge Paused' message, it just doesn't change wirelessly at all? Have you rebooted the device after changing the fast wireless charge option before actually wirelessly charging?

@@ContractorsPOV it will start charging but not fast. Even from a almost 0% battery. I can switch fast charge on but yeah as I said as soon as i put in the pad the fast wireless charge icon switches itself off and I just get normal speed. I haven't done a reboot. Is that where I hold the two buttons down?

@@scottbutcher9093 you can start with turning on the fast wireless charge and then try a restart. If that doesn't work, then the reboot might get it to stick. Yes, reboot is where you hold down power and volume button for 12 seconds

@@scottbutcher9093 just a proper restart. You would have to go into settings to do a factory reset. And I wouldn't suggest that unless you do it frequently already.

how do you know if your cable IS a fast charger? I bought a few off ebay ...when I use it normally it does fast charge...BUT when I attach it to my fast wireless charger ...the stand up one you have on the video ... it DOES wireless charge...but WONT fast wireless charge ... im really puzzled... the phone is set up to accept it S9

The only real way to test the cable is to try it on another type of fast charger or with a tester. Most of us don't have a tester, so if you have a different type of fast charger, you would use the same cable and power block and plug it in and check the phone on it. The stand up charger pictured has a fan in it, so that can take away from some cables ability to get enough power for fast charge and the fan. Hope that helps.

Having issues fast wireless charging I use the Samsung brand fast charger that came with phone for the power box and cord . Regular fast charging works just fine but the moment I stick the micro USB in the Samsung branded Fast charger and Super fast wireless charger neither one works I bought the super fast charging one thinking the original one I bought was just out dated software however It still poses an issue

It's quite disturbing to see how the way you handle each of the gadget with such rough manner where you are ah chucking things around and pulling the plug or unplugging with such force. I am surprised your gadgets still function given how aggressive you are when handling them.

Thought the exact same thing. The way he handles the gadgets is really _really_ weird. Engineers making these have to think about customers like this. You would think that people take reasonable care of the units, but apperently this guy is the one setting the bar for the durability standard..

Here's a weird problem I was facing. I have an official Samsung fast wireless charging stand. I had it connected to an 18W fast charger I bought from amazon (I had previously used that plug to fast charge my phone with a wire). But for some weird reason it would not fast wireless charge my Note 9. I though there was something wrong with the plug or cable so I tried another 3rd part fast wireless charger from amazon but that one worked fine. Well, as it turns out the samsung fast wireless charger will only work with samsung 15W charging plugs. Any higher wattage and it will not fast charge your phone. It makes no sense to me but hey I hope this helps someone out here!

😅😅 I think it's supposed to work without drilling the hole, but I wouldn't mind seeing it if you do! From what I've found on wireless chargers that don't work with the phone case on is that the power brick is too small of amps and doesn't have enough power to charge the phone through the case.

The issue I'm having is that I have a 4 port charging block with one of the ports being a QC 3.0 port, I have been using it for a while with my cable to charge my phone because it cuts the charging time quite a bit using that port vs the other regular ports, for some reason when I've got my wireless charger plugged into the faster port it does not work at all, I unplug the cord from it, and plug directly into phone it works just fine. I plug the wireless into any of the other ports it also works just fine, but it will take about twice as long though than if I kept the cord in same plug and plugged directly into phone. I was hoping to increase the charging speed using the faster port while I'm wireless charging, but it doesn't want to work.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I've had the exact same thing you described happen with a setup I used a while ago. Sorry that you're having to deal with this issue. One thing I wish I knew was how they wired these things internally but I can tell you that not all fast charging power blocks can power a wireless fast charger. It seems crazy that it wouldn't but I've tested several times and it happens. I would try another block if you have one available. Thanks for watching, much appreciated 👍

@@ContractorsPOV the charging speeds you are showing for when you are fast wireless charging are much faster than what mine shows. Ar the end of the day, (say my phone is at 15% or less) if I plug in directly with chord it will say something like an hour and 15 min to full charge in the QC 3.0 port and that it's fast charging, plug it into one of the other ports that time increased by about 30 or 40 min. But if I have my wireless charger plugged in (in the more standard same port) the time will be closer to 3hrs 20min, more than doubling the time. I'm thinking it might be the compatibility of how fast the phone itself is able to wireless charge I have the S20FE and that may be one of the things they stimmed down to make the phone cheaper

@@mandywaynick8725 very possible. That might be something to check on. That way you will know if it's a hardware issue with the chargers. It's very possible that its version of wireless fast charg is 7 watts instead of 5 watts. Which is still slow.

I’m having an issue with charging my iPhone XR. It worked last night while I was sleep but it’s not working all of sudden right now I tried to change power cords and even outlets or adapters boxes and it’s just blinking green. I even took my case off as well. Any suggestions?

First, a couple questions...what is the battery percentage currently with you trying to charge it and have you power cycled the iPhone yet? Sometimes software gets hung up and a reboot can solve the issue.

As for the charger blinking those colors, you'd have to look at the manual to see why it is doing that. I had the same problem, but had like 4 different cables, eventually, 1 of the cables worked on fast charging. Assume it’s something to do with the quality of cable? Never mind, problem solved, thanx

I picked up an Anker charger the other day, brand new. The charging brick that came with it wouldn't work with it. The cable was good, the charging pad was good but the part that plugged into the wall didn't have enough juice to make the charger work, yet, it could charge a phone if wired direct. You really never know.

The charger itself....doesn't work...period...I tried three of them plugging in flat out won't work for squat turns on for a quick second and then stops immediately.

I just purchased a brand new Anderson charger that came with its own power supply. The power supply works by itself if plugged directly into a phone, but if plugged into the wireless charger in the box, it turns on then shuts off. I used a different power supply and the wireless charger itself works. Just makes no sense. 🤷‍♂️

@@ContractorsPOV the only power supply that works ironically is my modified sine 1,000 watt car inverter plugged into the cigarette lighter in the car...anything in the house flat out doesn't work period.

Interesting. I would say that you didn't pay attention or all the others who appreciated the video are lying. But if you spend another 8 minutes watching, I'm sure you will really be irritated.
