How To Fix Yellow Grass - St Augustine Grass Turning Yellow 

- My soil test showed phosphorus through the roof and 6.9 pH. The high phosphorus locks up nutrients and the hight pH encourages fungus. - Scotts EZ Patch has been great during the rainy season. Its $16 bucks at any big box store but I had a patch that wouldn't grow in. Used spiked aeration, compost, and peat moss. Nothing worked. Now its filling in great. - Have 2 huge trees in the front yard and liquid fert, micros, and kelp have really been gotten the job done. Even tried hitting the tree trucks with npk and micros.

I don't think that's how ears work, but your advice on the grass is helpful.

Hoping you (or the community) can help answer the following: 1) What tip do you recommend for 7-0-0 Greene Effect? The description specifically recommends “spraying this product with a finer mist” for foliar intake, but the charts I have seen for TeeJet Turbo FloodJet tips all have course and larger droplets. 2) What elbows are you using between the wand and tip? Yellow grass, st agustine. It is the middle of December nights are about 45 degrees. I did put some Chicken manure and some iron separately in a matter of 2 months. First time lawn owner and still learning and experimenting .. any tips?

A lot of st Augustine issues have to do with the type of mowers used. Reel mower should be used. Leave the clippings on the lawn. Rotary mowers just rip the grass. The don’t actually cut. Constant ripping stress out the grass and the grass will turn yellow.

I am trying to control the Kyllinga, do you prefer SedgeHammer or Tenacity? I have been holding applying herbicide because I think I have a fungus problem. Some areas have leaves with brown spot and other yellowing. Just replaced my mower blade to get a sharper cut.

im in arizona very hot and very dry and just got this house with saint Augustine grass we have a sprinker system set up already and previous home owners weren't taking care of grass so it was dying, i set it up so it waters the grass every day at 9pm and its been growing like crazy and ive been mowing it every other week and it seemed to be healthy. well today i get home and there are some areas were the tips of grass are turning yellow and im not sure what to do. Am i watering it to often or to much?
