All kinds of things can be used to cover the ground. I had a box of ceramic tiles and laid them between two rows of hill beans. With spaces between to allow moisture to spread evenly. I have used cardboard. It works well and usually doesn't decompose during the season. In the Fall I just put it a pile behind the shed, throw some dirt on it, and forget about it. I would love to use straw or hay but all the farmers spray their crops around here.
@@BibleNumbersForLifeServantMark not many realize that about straw. Spraying is part of the termination process. I use it for winter chicken roosts and compost it with heat then mushrooms AFTER it sits outside in the rain for a couple months.
Is July too late to plant and grow a mature audience plant from seed in an outside environment? The solstice has passed so mature audience plant may do poorly?
@@jokerbomber2149 I've had luck with many different organic granualar fertilizer. I like where the NPK ratings are similar numbers. Nice and balanced. Apply every 2 weeks.
@@laurenfraser2483 I had to chop 35 gallons of plants away to give to the chickens. Everything growing in the chicken compost is going crazy. Purchased compost plants are pathetic!
@@johnbower3002 yes but we call it mature audience plant or else I get strikes against my channel 😂. The others are big and healthy growing in the permaculture areas. That plant would be a perfect example of yellowing and why it's happening.
