This video gave me all of the information I needed to fix my Walkman without having to buy parts. The belt orientation and speed adjustment location were most useful!
Fantastic! Just as I was about to think that my new belt fix had failed, you threw me a great recovery regarding the speed adjustment which is Essential for my music theory and pitch lessons from an old cassette course... It's now calibrated on-pitch. This is 'U-Tube' as it's best. Very much Appreciated! Much Appreciated Sir.
Thanks a million for this video! I tried two different replacement belts in my walkman, but each time the playback sounded like slow motion. Finally, I watched your video and found out about that RV601 speed knob. Gave it a tiny adjustment and my walkman is back to normal again.
Thank you, I'll try this. My volume control on my portable cd player has had a problem for a while now where only on one volume level, the sound comes in both ears. On all other volume levels, the audio only comes in one ear. I know the headphones are good as they work on literally every other device I own. I'll let you know how it goes. Edit: It worked! The sound's still a little bit staticky, but the sound comes in both ears now at any volume level.
I had a Sony walkman and didn't like it. Right off the bat the tape played too slowly and changed how the song sounded. We sent it back to Sony, they claimed it was ok or they fixed it one or the other and it changed nothing. I knew it was off because the tapes I was listening to I was very familiar with.
Nice one and well explained. In my case the Sony Walkman F2081 circuit board which can be accessed at the back easily . was able to change the belt but no sign of the speed adjustment screw! All the capacitors etc are on the other side and there are no screws visible on the PCB to remove and flip it over to have a look .. I think the whole thing needs to be taken apart which is a pain so I gave up! Mine plays a bit slowly so I use this walkman for transcription!!
I have a walkman with similar mechanics. too much modulation problem. new belt. ı dont adjust speed. if i set the speed then it changes, can yo hel mi (wm fx40) ı can try clean same to you show point.
My Aiwa tp-vs470 is with a reeeeeeally low sound, I only can hear by putting my ear on it :( same thing when using phones! Maybe my volume potentiometer is broken?
Well idk how to find the speed adjustment, but in the meantime the fiddling around broke it worse and now it stops half a second after hitting play, as if it got to the end of the tape 🙄 Oh well, it was worth a shot I guess
if you check the manual (you can look it up online) you should be able to find directions to where it is. Also, I believe with the sport there's a hole on the side that allows for access to the speed adjustment screw.
