Thank you!! I just had my battery and alternator replaced today LOL and when I was halfway home I rolled my windows down and when I was home and parked the drivers side window wouldn’t stay closed. This video was the first result and WOW right to the point and it’s working now!! Thank you :) For reference, I have a 2006 Toyota rav 4. Was worried this wouldn’t work on my car but it did!
This was bugging the crap out of me on an 09 highlander after the battery died with the automatic windows partially down. Same symptoms and your easy fix worked. Thanks for posting!
Thanks! I am going to try this trick. I am having the same issue.... (update some minutes later...) it worked! My window is fixed! (Ford Transit Connect) Never before had RU-vid been so helpful.
Happened to me when my battery died and the window was opened a bit. It worked on 2015 Ford Escape. I did have to do a couple of other steps. Turn the key on but not the engine. Open the driver's side door Turn the key back one but not off Even though the first try the window did come down on it's own again, I just re did it and it worked. People may have to try combination of your video and the extra steps I did, but it does work. Thank you so much.
Unreal! I worked for me on a 2011 Holden Captiva CG 5 door for both Rear doors. I am in Australia so I am thinking the window motors for many models of cars probably come from the same manufacturer. I just saved $250!
Thanks! Had the same problem with my 2016 Smart car. This trick fixed it. I just had to wait a few seconds after holding the button for it to start moving again.
hi i had this problem with my seat ibiza st gp2 2017 model in back seat window i tried this video in many diffrent ways by doing it from driver seat button or change to back seat window button none helped i even went far and counted to 30 nothing. Then while scrolling up i hold my hand first time it scrolled back down when it touched my hand second time it keep pushed my hand up but i hold it by force like 4 , 5 second then i let it go and bang it got all the way up and stayed there. Could it be a loose window holder since forcing it in to slider helped
Just another point here (not sure if its mentioned in the video), At least for my vehicle, you need to do it on the window that has the problem, not from the master switch..
@@Nickthecarguy Thanks for your reply Nick. Thats where I started too - but after trying it for about 20 times at that master switch without success and pulling my hair out, I finally got it to work at the actual door. If I run into the problem again, I'll give it another go at the master - if it turns out I'm mistaken, I'll report back and amend my update.
I just bought a used 2002 camry and this is happening to the driver side window. I was playing with it and stopped the window where it rolls back to and it started clicking and wouldn't go up or down. I turned the car off and on again and it rolled back up. Should i replace the window motor?
I tried this but when I send the window back up, it bounces back down. I tried it little by little (up stop up stop) but that bastard bounces back down. If I can get it to work does this need to repeated every time I start the car? I suspect it re-sets? Thank you for the video.
Well my been doing it off and on for months... passenger side front window, It won't stay up either to let me do the count.. it automatic comes down again, 2017 Ford Fusion Titanium
@@roddy.m Have someone take the door apart and pull the window up, then they can put something to block it from falling. That's what I've done before anyway. You can't roll it down, but I'm sure it costs a lot to get it fixed correctly which isn't worth it to me.
I tried this and it somehow made it worse, each time I hold the button in place the regulator stops working for some time. Has anyone else had this happen?
I'll give that motor a life span of 5 years and i'm being generous before it craps out. Holding that button down/up will deteroriate that motor and overload it over time. My suggestions is either keep your window up or down and keep it that way depending on your surrounding enviorment to keep that motor alive longer.
