Envious of the otter and beaver drivers. I have about 17 hours of stick time in a super cub (about 15 years ago) but would love to get back on track to fly again.
Awsome vid, thanks for sharing, This is my dream job and although ive only got 25hours on floats im flying every weekend and hoping to get my first gig this summer
It's like a memory flight to me, when I was child, my family move from Banjarmasin to Jakarta n transit in Surabaya with DHC3 otter due my father works in Air force, so in the a/c only my fam ... in year 1962 .... 💕
All knobs forward, I know this is faster and carries more than the piston beaver, but I would still rather pay my money for a beaver trip, call it nostalgia, or whatever. I feel like everything happens at the “right” speed in a beaver. This one seems to be forcing its way through the air. I know, I know, turbines are more reliable, but I think overall I would feel safer and happier with the beaver!
Gotta agree. Have maybe 4 hours Turbine time. The Beaver allows me to have cool interaction with passengers. I love the tour guide part. Life is a dream flying in the Beaver. And you're right about the speed. It's funny I often think of these Corporate Jets and their Executives and their families at times flying all over the place getting to their places as fast as can be. Hmmmm... Often the World simply passes them by cause the beauty of flight is low level at 100 mph. In the Beaver you can smell the FORESTS and the LAKES and the SALTY OCEAN. What is the rush to go?... Well fishing at lodges yes but the whole trip is about the whole trip. The Beaver takes you into a time capsule. I always say, "All you need is 500' above the ground and the Planet is totally different, beautiful and amazing". You want to understand more of who we are? Hop a ride in a Beaver!
I’m so sorry I just feel more attuned to the Radial Engined Beaver, than the turbined versions they seem to have so much more character and warmth, given from the R985 engines the sound, the lower engine pulses, they feel alive and not sanitary.
lamarre civil , Jim usually flies out NW Seaplanes in Renton Washington (Seattle area ). Looks like this flight is all the way to Shearwater Canada 🇨🇦 about half way to Alaska! Usually the flights don’t get much past Hakai lodge.
@@ifoundjim "most people are able to learn and pick up tips from videos" very true ive used many such videos from steveo, flight chops, missionary bush pilot to name drop a few but then them videos are usually shot from multiple camera angles and show more information than two dead bugs on a windshield. it is a ride along pure and simple
