Does anyone know if *Better Time Warp* is working better nowadays? The last time I tried I figured it was muting (glitching) the sounds of my engines after a while.
Just as life is for me i just jumped into the game and figured it out myself how to succeed. getting into orbit and planetry transferes aswell. and i realy struggelt some times to find the right manuever to bring my kerbals allsways back to kerbin from a mission. until now i did not even know about the ingame manuever tool ^_^° this channel is great, thanks for all your work!!!

Great video! I would also be curious if there's a good way to come back and not have to wait for so many years. It could be important for mods with life support.
In the video before this I got a capture about Eve and then waited for the proper transfer window. That was shorter. You can go shorter still, but it costs a lot more fuel.
IN theory it's just a question of delta-V, the more you're willing to spend the more you "push" the transfer times. Many transfer window planners have a graphical display which allows you to make these kind of trade-offs (known as porkchop plot), *BUT* the delta-V requirement gets absolutely ludicrous fairly quickly and thanks to the rocket equation that means it's not possible to build (standard) crafts that can do it! The TLDR is that there's no known or even speculative drives are capable of sufficient performance to "just drive around" in even KSP's mini planetary system (much smaller than the real solar system) - which is also why most Science Fiction uses "magic" space drives. The KSP equivivalent to this is using one of the Kraken drives. The built-in transfer planner in 1.12 selects the "optimum" time (lowest delta-V possible) out of the "sea" of options, it's basically the minimum viable product. If you're willing and able (not on console) to install mods there's much better options like the "Transfer Window Planner - Fork" or the one in MechJeb 2. And if you're on Console, you don't have the built-in one either but there are webpages that does it (the TWP mod is based on the maths developed for Alex Moon's transfer planner webpage IIRC) and there's also standalone Windows programs that uses the free MatLab runtime to do the calculations (KSP Trajectory Optimization Tool - "KSPTOT"). KSPTOT probably only makes sense for really complicated plans, like "visit every planet using the smallest amount of delta-V and do it in a reasonable time".
