How To Fold A Letter Into A Window Envelope | A4 letter for a windowed DL envelope

Watch this tutorial to learn how to fold a A4 letter for a windowed DL envelope. I tried several techniques, but this is definitely the best one, because all you need is the letter an the envelope. No pens, no ruler, no additional paper. And it's very fast and easy.
Watch the video to get a step-by-step tutorial on how-to fold a letter or just follow these steps:
1) Put the upper edge of the letter to the upper edge of the envelope
2) Fold the lower edge of the letter to the lower edge of the envelope
3) Turn around the letter
4) Now fold the upper edge of the letter now to the (folded) lower edge of the letter
5) Now you can put the folded letter into the envelope
That's it. This will bring you a perfect folded A4 letter for a windowed DL envelope.

if i didn't already feel stupid for not knowing how to fold a letter, this video drove that point home with such perfection. if there were oscars for "how to fold a letter web video" this video would win best picture, best comedy, best special effects, and best actor. i would definitely watch again even though i now feel like i couldn't ever again possibly fold a letter wrong. two thumbs up.

How do you do two thumbs up? I only find the right hand thumbs up. I first tried to turn on mirroring on my monitor, but that did not help. Then I tried to add `html { transform: scaleX(-1); }` to the CSS by developer tools. Though I get a left hand thumb up, it say already thumbed up.

2:49 to 2:50 - We went from "Now you can see they fit very very good together" to "Now we just have to fit them together!" - Notice how within 1 second - the sneaky little frigger - adjusts his mistake so that the actual address line fits into the window when folded - rather than the actual - wrongly folded stage at 2:49 / magically it is correct at 2:50 lol - well done son! Round of applause before a back hand to the snout!

Been doing this the hard way for years. One would think that the folding method would be obvious since it is so simple, but no! I found the slowness of the demonstration useful, because I was able to follow along with it. Just so you know, I have MS, and things that require fine motor movements with my hands tend to be difficult.

To be fair, letters are more of novelty than anything actually useful these days, it's hardly an important skill. When I went to school in the nineties they where still making us write drafts with a pencil, correct it with a physical dictionary, and then fill in the final version with a pen. All skills that are basically worthless now that everyone uses computers. Sure, it's nice for me since I think calligraphy is cool, but for everyone else all of that was a waste of time because by the time they left school nobody was using pen and paper and physical dictionaries anymore.

How about if I have massive letters and I need to use the folding machine, would the machine fold to fit window envelope. I never explored but I just started wanting to use window envelope letter. I am tired printing envelopes. Would be so nice if the printers and/or copiers would fold letters right after printing.

I thought was just me was not sure how to fold precisely. Here thousand people in same boat. It's just like how to make a bow, OMG million people requested video how to make a bow. And I thought was just me the problem with the bow. I have seen high tech grown up dude asking a clerical lady to wrap the gift box and make a bow, and gift box with the gorgeous bow. Ah the perfect bow makes huge difference.

I find this technique leaves the letter too "loose" vertically in the envelope to ensure that all lines in an address align with the window in typical DL envelopes, without either the top line or the bottom line being partially obscured, depending on which way up you hold the envelope, and tap it on your desk. I notice that the window in the envelope used in this demonstration is deeper top to bottom than in anything I have seen for sale in Australia.

I've been folding the letters that go w/ windowed envelopes all wrong. I would take the part of the letter w/ the superscription and put it against the cellophane window of the envelope and make sure the address showed. I'd lightly tape into place, if the letter needed to be stabilized so it wouldn't move around inside the envelope. Then, I'd fold the rest of the letter any way I could to make it fit in the envelope.

At 2:48 - 2:49 the folded paper changes. Looks like you readjusted it, but don't explain why? I figured out why, but the other viewers may be curious about it.

Very well observed! :) The problem was, that my address field was too high on the first letter, so you could not read the address in the window. I did not explain it, because it has nothing do with the folding itself. Learning: Watch out when you print your letter, that the address field is at the right position.

I did exactly what i see, and my A4 fits perfectly in the envelope, also the address goes to the window perfectly, if you have any problems fitting things, you might need to change the position of the address before printing it out

And for the seasoned typist who wonders if the addressee signature was typed on the right line within the right margin 😅 Because regardless of how nice you fold the letter, if it wasn't typed on the right line, with right spacing and within the right margin, it wouldn't show thru the window. 😁
