Salve Anna. Very good video on beginning grammatica. I'm in Denver, CO (USA) and have begun learning Italiano with a tutor in Urbino. Verb conjugation has been a MOST difficult journey for me (as English verb conjugation is infinitely simpler). I just about gave up trying to learn this beautiful language (because of the complexities of verb conjugation), but have slogged through it because my love for the Italian language, food, wine and people is greater than my hatred of verb conjugation. Wish me luck in my journey.

Thank you for sharing! Mastering all moods and tenses is not easy even for Italians. Luckily we don’t really need that in everyday communication. We wish you all the best in your studies! And don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have questions or if you need anything :)

Glad you liked the video, thanks! I hope you don't stop studying Italian, even if you find some difficulties. Conjugations are difficult for many of my students: one advice I can give is to choose a list of verbs that we find useful, and make simple sentences for each pronoun. The important thing is to repeat the sentences out loud, several times; just writing them down is not enough. Don't give up! I will be more than happy to help you with any other questions you may have.

@@oldchevytrucklovers I saw a post from another studente di lingua Italiano that he feels like his dog when he’s speaking to him. The dog seems to understand what was said, but he can’t reply. That’s another challenge. I can “reasonably” understand, but can’t translate, put a reply together in English, and then translate into Italiano all within the timing of a normal conversation. I’ve begun watching Italiano TV and that has helped considerably, but still feel like I’m scaling Mt. Everest in my quest to learn this beautiful language........!

@stormblack and @S & S Woodgate, If I may make a suggestion, one way to move from passive language learning skills to active skills, i.e. formulating sentences independently, is to read a simple passage from your Italian textbook, and try to repeat it in a very simple way. Your teacher can help you with this activity, which our students find very helpful. You will slowly get used to formulating sentences in the Italian language, and you will gradually feel more confident.

Wonderfully educational videos! Not only do I want to understand the language of my family background, in a few years I plan on touring Italy with Eagle Riders. I hope to connect with the Roma Harley-Davidson HOG chapter. Their video posts on Facebook look like so much fun! Through your videos, Duolingo, and TGLa 7 I'm hoping for a better immersive experience. Ciao 🇺🇸🇮🇹

Very nice video, Anna! This video mentions what I always say: If you know English, you already know quite a bit of Italian. It doesn't always help to mirror the English sentence structure, of course, but it is a good start. Will share with my Conversational Italian group on Facebook.

I think you don't know Russian... In Russian we can say: Адам ест яблоко Ест Адам яблоко Адам яблоко ест Ест Адам яблоко Яблоко ест Адам Яблоко Адам ест All previous sentences mean the same... So be informed that Russian is not SVO language.
@MyItalianCircle
@MyItalianCircle 2 года назад
Dear Mohammad, thank you for your input. Even SVO languages can have different sentence structures, but they are still SVO languages when you look at their basic, most common structure. In Italian we can also switch the word order depending on the context and what we want to express, emphasis, contrast, etc. :)
