How to Freeze WHOLE Okra (without blanching)
Thoroughly wash the pods and allow them to dry. Using a paring knife, trim the stems but do not cut into the pods. Place pods in an even layer on a cookie sheet or disposable tray and place in the freezer for four hours. This will allow the pods to freeze individually and not clump together. After four hours, remove the pods from the freezer, place them in a freezer safe storage bag, label with date, and contents. Remove any excess air and place back into the freezer for up to one year. When ready to use, remove the pods and place into soup, peas, or slice into 1 ⁄ 2 - 1 ⁄ 4 inch slices (depending on your personal preference to fry. Enjoy!
