Great video, tks. One thing I always do when I have the MAF out is to give it a blast with electrical contact spray to keep it clean 👍

Thanks for your comment... Not sure it relates to the fuel filter change but appreciate the helpfulness

@@PiggyPower Doesn't relate to a fuel filter change or, indeed, an air filter change but when I have a sensor like the MAF out as part of another service routine I always take the opportunity to give it a clean... preventative maintenance.

Great video, thanks for that! What I couldn't find anywhere was instructions on how to bleed water from the filter which you are supposed to do with every oil change. Cheers!
@PiggyPower
@PiggyPower 3 месяца назад
Water sinks to the bottom, you drain it out if the housing has a drain screw. However, I'd simply change the fuel filter at every oil change.
@hendo2537
@hendo2537 3 месяца назад
@@PiggyPower I change oil every 7,500km and a fuel filter is at least $80 AUD. Bit pricey to replace them every time... There is a big screw on top of the filter and a small clear hose at the bottom, so I will investigate further if that is actually the water drain screw. Filter is original PUG. Thanks!
@PiggyPower
@PiggyPower 3 месяца назад
@@hendo2537 do the fuel filter every other. It's well worth it. Yes, the screw at the bottom with the clear hose is the drain. Unless you're using very bad fuels... I'd guess there is little to no water in the bottom after 7500km

@@PiggyPower I guess you're right. There is also a fairly popular additive here in Oz called Fuel Doctor which I am going to put to the test. But in any case I'll replace the fuel filter next service. Cheers and keep up the good work, great videos!

@@hendo2537 it won't change anything.... If the engine/injectors etc are healthy, that money is better spent on servicing and regular maintenance.

What’s the blank for at the bottom? My electric connector was plugged into it, but it couldn’t be doing anything as there’s no pins

If yours has a connector and sensor, you'll need to ensure you're new filter can accept it, it's a water sensor

Thank you sir, this saved me a lot of time and mental pain 😅 My 308 had "depollution system faulty". Does anyone know should the error message refresh by changing this filter or should it be manually refreshed?? Thanks!

It's good you've managed to change the fuel filter... but what lead you to believe that was the fault?? What was your diagnostic process? I'd be shocked if that code came up due to an old fuel filter. Like, very shocked.
@tukriko
@tukriko 10 месяцев назад
@@PiggyPower I found couple of threads online suggesting that for reason. That said, it also might be several other things, apparently.. . But at least it would also match the mileage, since my 308 has 240 000 km and interval for fuel filter was 120 tkm if I remember correctly. There is 0 % guarantee and my knowledge about cars is.. well.. very limited 😅

can car lose power in driving or wants to shut down/off if fuel filter are too old/bad?
