In a matte finish paint job, the clear coat dries to a rough texture, rather than drying smooth. This forms the unique surface texture that prevents the paint from reflecting light and thus, creates a dull, sheen look or matte finish.
Do’s and Don’ts for matte paint care:
Do:
Hand wash regularly using a quality shampoo made for matte surfaces
Use products appropriate for matte finishes
Apply protection compatible with matte finishes
Remove contamination like bird droppings and water spots
Do not:
Apply waxes on matte finishes
Polish matte surfaces (if the finish is damaged, see an auto paint expert)
Use automatic car washes
Use shampoos with waxes, silicones or gloss enhancers in them
Use a claybar

FUN FACT: BMW's matte paint is called Frozen and for Mercedes, it's called Magno (including the 4-door AMG GT63 in the video).

Matte finish... I usually have a Matte finish! It's called dust. Don't care for it!

I'm not really a fan of matte finishes, for many of reasons you outlined. But for those that do, clearly Dr. Beasley's is the solution to those problems. The final result on the AMF was nothing less than stunning!

Hi Pan, i have the Ioniq 5 shooting star ( matte). I saw your other videos on Decon with IronX or equivalent and tar remover before claying and polishing ( I know NO clay or polish on Matte paint). But would the Dr Beasley Matte Cleanser be enough before applying the ceramic coating ? Or should I also use IronX or equivalent ? I have both.

I've been using the wheel cleaner and wheel seal for a while. My car has matte black wheels. Excellent products.
