Delves are the best thing that happened to WoW in a long time. Takes forever to kill each mob, but you're not forced to play with people whose company is cancer that no one would ever choose, and you get decent rewards.
I'm surprised every time I hear about toxicity in WoW because I just played LoL for the last year and a half and this game is refreshing comparatively.
Agreed. I believe mythic raiding should always be the highest challenge for the highest gear. Followed by high mythic+ dungeons. I love the option for peeps like me who are married, have kids, work full time, and don't have the time to dedicate to that. A personal challenge I can do on my own time. I guess I've been lucky. For the most part every run is a piece I need. I did something like 20 delves on my main, and I have champion gear for all but my cloak. For a while I was like i guess it has to give gear that is an upgrade for a slot that isn't at that level. I think I have only received 6-8 pieces that were duos that I just had to vend. Though whenever I get that map the delve I got to seems to always drop the same armor or weapon type. If I use a key it will be gloves and the free 610 piece will also be gloves. Yeah delves need some tuning, but it's supposed to be end game content for heroic equivalent raiding. It shouldn't be too easy.
Small tip, Choose the world soul weekly quest for the Machine in the ringing deeps and youll get 2 chests out of it, 1 for the machine weekly itself and one for the world soul quest
@@NoOne1x Yes you can. You will loose any progress you made on the other quest though if you for whatever reason decide to go back to your original choice.
It's so nice that solo players have gearing options. I prefer group content but I've taken a step back from it for now because it's particularly toxic out there right now.
I rather do solo content because I have 3hrs per day, instead of trying to do keys for example. But yeah, now option are overwhelming a little bit. 10 options of what to do, and most of them has daily reset.
People rather complain for 10 years about the "toxic community" instead of making friends and joining guilds. Your antisocial behavior is your main issue here.
@@Nick-1988 no, assholes who think it's ok to act like you need a 'thick skin' and just accept verbal abuse in a friggin' game meant for fun and relaxation are the problem..sane people turn antisocial because people like you push us away.
Not quite. What you can get solo still remains crap compared to what you can get in a group. Whose fault is it, specifically, that a significant portion of players act like _complete shits_ behind a keyboard, so that many avoid group content like the damn plague that it is?
They have been trying to avoid easy for a long time now. They probably have guys at table 2 whose job is to take whatever the guys at table 1 designed and deliberately make more messy, more confusing.
Not just that, but why are there 6 tracks. Like should be 4 tops. Pre-raid & LFR track, Normal,Heroic,Mythic. IDK why explorer and adventurer both exist or why veteran and champion both exist. The others kind of map on to raid difficulties. If 6 was correct, the upgrading should be cut in half. There shouldn't be so much overlap, but that's just me.
I am playing Retail for the first time since Cata pre-patch and your content has been SO helpful for me to understand not only The War Within content, but also Retail in general. Cheers Kelani!
The only downside to delves for me so far is the duplicate gear drops. If they added and end of run option to trade it for coins or progress this would be fixed.
Duplicate drops are to be expected. Sure, when you get the special map for a bonus drop, and then you drop same slot items from both coffers, or even _the very same item from both coffers,_ that's uncool as only Blizzard devs can be uncool. These guys, you've got to understand them, they have awful sex lives, they need to share their misery with us...
Yep, the dev teams have to take their frustrations out on people, especially solo players. They hate that they have had to make content for us. All they have to do is, give us a coin or some item we can trade in at a vendor for the stuff we want and need.
hey Kehlani, this is folks; just a heads up - worldsoul is best done with 5 echoes with a raid group, typically 400 valorstones + 2 keys of one such run.
Also a heads up: using 5 Echoes *often* bugs out. I've run this stupid event 10+ times with my guild in the last week, and at least 9 of them have ended with people saying "wtf, I used 5 Echoes and only got the same amount as people that used 1." I stopped doing it. Not wasting my stuff until I know it's fixed.
@@timothymorrison5918 It's one of those things YOU CAN solo... you just get more out of it in a group. For this one specifically, you'd be foolish to solo it. You can get literally 10x and more the reward if you're in a group. But hey.. you don't HAVE to.
@@1337139 Custom, yeah. You can make your own but... I'm in a guild and people just sorta coordinate in small groups. Say 10 ppl are online, 2-3 might be up for a group, so they get together and make a group in the gf and get a few other people. Because, like I said, it's in EVERYONE'S best interest to do it as a group.
They didn't nail anything. They missed the mark hard with delves. Gerar you get is 603 with a tiny chance of 610 with the map. So now for me, I only have one shot at 1 616 item item per week in the weekly. To get further, i need to do group content. The stuff delves were supposed to replace for players like me.
hey Kehlani! Important thing to note: These floating orbs that give Weathered crystals appear in a single zone that rotates daily. So if you find the zone of the day, you can farm your weathered cap quite quickly for the week/season
@@profesorz642 Not quite. You can transfer 90 of them into carved crests, and then transfer your cap of carved crests into runed crests. It's not much, but its a big help for a solo player.
@@supportgod3296 I did not realize you could convert them to carved. That's good to know because weathered become useless fairly quickly, but they're also really easy to get.
tip for everyone seeking Crafted Gear! have the gear made in public with rank 1 mats, you can then get it RECRAFTED for less rank 3 Mats. it's way more affordable than getting it rank 5 outright, so if you got your own toons that can craft it you'll only need to seek someone for the recraft.
Wow is in such a good place imo, I haven’t played since legion but I’ve gotten a handful of friends to join up as new players and they’ve been engaging with every kind of content available, and having a blast doing it all. I think that satisfying both a veteran like me and new players in both solo and group content is pretty impressive.
This is super helpful! Love that solo players can finally shine in WoW without relying on groups. It’s like having a little adventure all by yourself! 🌟 Can't wait to try out the delves, I heard they can be quite the challenge but in a good way. Let's go solo squad! 💪
I was kinda confused how I had 6 Gilded, nice to get the confirmation from your video. For anyone looking to maximize solo gearing, you might wanna farm Tier8 Bountifuls for maps, and try to farm up enough just enough Gilded Crests to upgrade your main weapon at least one time. Mine is stuck at 619 currently, but now I will be for sure farming up Maps.
Started way back in BC and was a hard-core raider all the way up to Cata now I have two young children with twins on the way I have absolutely zero time for it, but I have so much time invested in the game. It is super super nice that I can solo, and still be viable. Just get a chill vibe and let my brain turn off.
As someone coming back the game after a long break (legion) I find all this quite confusing, same with the crafting mechanics. Yes there are nice videos like this one to explain, but having to rely on those to understand how things work is not ideal. Anyway... thanks
Another very clear and helpful video. Thank you! I love the options for ways to progress. I do a lot of group content with friends but I don't always have friends available to run with, and pugging stresses me out because people can be toxic. I love that I can pursue content and gear with or without friends. Delves have been glitchy but the concept is good and I've enjoyed it so far. Plus the guaranteed bonus chest when you use a map is addicting :D
I think the new gearing options are awesome. The delves at higher levels are challenging which is good, I'm preferring them to running dungeons or LFR.
I was a part of a high level guild way back in the day and got tired of all the bs that came with it. I’ll never go back to group play but will queue up for instances. I haven’t found many toxic players yet but I’ve only been back playing for a week. I like delves and wish there was a voting system for the queue so you could report toxicity
As a healer main, I love delves for my DPS characters. I want to play all classes but suck at DPS in groups. This allows me to gear and challenge myself of those classes I’m not good at.
Actually really happy to see this. I have time just for raid logging and some world quests. Delves give that extra option to improve gear going into the raid
It´s pretty much mysterious. I completed the heroic raid this week, it took me coordination with 20 other players, devotion, dedication and suffering through hours of tough content and a dozen wipes. This feat gets me 610 gear in the vault. Then I also roflstomped my way through Tier 8 Delves, playing them by practically rolling my face over the keyboard, and that will get me 616 gear in the vault. Beside the Tier-Set there is absolutely no reason anymore to even visit a raid
That is the wrong approach. The reason to do a raid should never be just to get gear but to spend time playing the game with your friends. Way too many people forget that spending a fun time in the game is the real reason for playing, not gathering some higher pixel numbers on a screen. Which will be worthless anyway when the next content patch drops because that'll introduce higher item level gear.
The gearing from Delves reminds me of when they added LFG for Heroic Dungeons in Wrath during the Tournament (Tier 9) allowing relatively low level guilds and unorganized solo players to get badge gear. It was enough to allow these groups to get motivated to take on Arthus when T10 came about. CATA's heroics difficulty sort of cramped those groups again, but MoP, WoD, and Legion was suitable for those groups again. Dragonflight and War Within seem idea for solo players and low numbers guilds.
I like the idea of soloing players getting high end gear - i usually play late and when there is fewer players so I am cool with soloing. Getting better gear is a bonus too. I usually will LFR on weekends to make up for the gearing up on my characters.
Not gonna lie, Delves are a god send to people like me. Trying to join raids/dungeons without being already overgearing the loot table is near impossible, unless you have a guild.
Delves can be even easier with a group, however in my experience there’s some really toxic players out there, especially alliance. A bunch of under-geared people can get it done, but they are all expecting to blast through it with zero effort.
I would like to add another option for getting crafting crests: If you do the short questline in Azj-kahet to unlock Story Mode for the raid, you'll get a quest that rewards you with an Enchanted Runed Harbinger Crest.
Of course this means farming bountiful delves *a lot*, just to get some crests and a 4% chance at a map. I'm now at 601 item lvl and four set pieces after doing lvl 8 delves for two weeks, LFR and weeklies (including the timewalking Black Temple), after being out of the country until ten days ago. That's good enough to change to slow advancement, i.e. professions and just doing four bountifuls and the necessary weeklies to do those, and maybe raise some twinks. Or do other stuff, I got about eight other games on the backburner asking for attention right now. Just the thrill of "higher number" isn't really worth putting in daily grinds in WoW, IMO.
huh lol i reached like 607 from my bountifuls and now im 610 from normal and heroic raid. It gives you a 606 piece every time almost. so unless u got duplicates like 4 times lol
@@Odyssey636 Yeah, I'm okay with having a decent ilvl (600-610 is enough for casual play, IMO) and then taking it easy, at 49 years of age I got a lot of other stuff on my plate. Still got the twinks, get loremaster or transmog from old raids if I want to put serious time into WoW for a while and the patch cycle is quick enough these days that new content is coming out at a very decent rate.
no bountiful delves without keys loot almost nothing just need to do 8 per week after that if you don't have key is not worth it for the time spend on it you get almost no loot and no gold.
@@kenpazaraki5781 I generally agree, but for real min max u just want to cap out your runic crests right? which i think you need to run more than 8 per week
This is sort of true, as there is currently a problem with the delves rewarding crests. Some people get them regularly, others don't get them at all, or get very few. I opened a ticket and CS mentioned that they are working on this problem, and the missing crests are to be given to the players when they fix it. Otherwise, going into m+ 4 and above is really the only option to upgrade gear for people who don't have the crests
Raiding sucks. Takes forever and get consistently unlucky on any drops. Delves are fine but radiant echoes x5 is bugged. Very frustrating. Lost so many radiant echoes to the bug.
Yes, common bug, reported and tried to raise a ticket but there was too many on that subject. The bug is selecting fivefold rewards for 5x echoes and receiving 1x reward.
Delves are very good for solo player and to prepare for raids without dealing with ... difficult people in M+. That is only if you have the correct class and correct spec. When you don't, you need group for the solo content
I can't do raids or dungeons with others cuz mt puter sucks but I can do the delves alone which is awesome. All the upgrading is very confusing but thanks again for all the tips, I enjoy the videos you make even if I don't understand it all.
Ugh I feel like I’m required to do delves now. With how overturned M+ is, and how impossible it is to find raid groups unless ur super high level, it feels like I HAVE to do delves now, and I HATE them.
I find these crests upgrades and crafting system with sparks and whatever so difficult to understand. Even with watching several guides like yours now. But since I play solo and I do tier 8 delves easily by now, I dont need to stress myself gearing up anymore I guess? The only thing that comes to my mind is the Zekvir "Let me Solo him" fight
@@nojabhere you get a quest in the main hub to defeat him. Once you cleared a level 8 delve, you can enter Zekvirs hideout in azj-kahet. He has 2 levels of difficulty. First one aint that hard. You just have to get used to some unforgiving mechanics. Second one adds some mechanics and as of now with the current delve adjustements to brann, it is rather undoable.
There's little to understand, I don't think even the devs 'understand' the system, or they would understand it doesn't need to be so messy. Nobody asked for it. Nobody needs it. Nobody likes it. Bunch of different currencies, with different names, that change every few months. You go to the guy, put the piece in the neat square, and see if you happen to have all the silly crap he wants.
Great video, I only have one concern and one video idea for you. The concern is you did not mention valor stones at all in the video and they are a real pain in the ass to get, at least for me. I see you are caped so maybe I missed a video on how to farm those easily. The video idea is something I do not see anyone talking about. Basically when I finish a tier 8 delve I do not get progress on my weekly vault sometimes. For example right now column one and two are tier 8 and column 3 is tier 7. I ran two different tier 8 delves and the column 3 stayed at tier 7. Even though I completed and did not even die once. Either there are hidden mechanics at play, or the system is bugged and no one is talking about it. Or I am missing something else. Anyway if anyone has any wisdom on either topic please let me know.
@@cordiquasso Right my understanding is you need to do 8 Delves to unlock column 3. I certainly hope you are not suggesting I need to do 8 tier elves to go from tier 7 to tier 8 as that would be a living nightmare and not make any sense. That is certainly what I would call a hidden mechanic because once you have unlocked column 3 it just says to do "a" level 8 or higher delve to unlock tier 8.
I feel like the Delves are cool and definitely have some potential. But right now they are kind of boring once you run a particular one and loot all the chests and treasure and then you go with a different character to the same one there really isn’t that much left I mean you get those little power up things that we have been saying since Torghast which help you get through a little quicker. Or more safely. I just feel like they need a little something extra. My idea was to use the power of AI to create procedurally generated ones that were different every time. Also have some different kind of treasures inside that you can find to make it a little more exciting. Maybe if they tie archaeology into them it would be fun so you could piece together little clues to get unique cosmetic rewards or something like that.
Solo players pay their subs too, so good for them for finally having a chance to gear up at the same rate as the rest of us. I actually don't care how people get their gear, it doesn't affect my gameplay so let everyone enjoy WoW however they choose to play instead of hamstringing them.
The unspoken challenge with all this is valor stones. Sure you can fly through all the orbs and get a nice amount of crests, but if you dont have the valor stones to back it up you still cant upgrade your gear and its all for not. weapon upgrades alone can be several hundred. and upgrading most core slot items by 3 levels are about 250 per slot, per 3 levels. So this isnt exactly as cut and dry as eluded to here. The world events etc, will not provide you with a comenserate amount of valor stones to upgrade your gear so you will have to take on additional dungeons and delves to make up for it.
It seems these are the quickest --- does anybody have any hidden gems or info to add to this? * World Soul Weekly Quest (Located in Dornogal, usually just outside of the Inn) * Theater Troupe (Located in Dornogal) * Spreading the Light Event (Located in Hallowfall) * Packed Quest (Located in Azj-Kahet) These activities are recommended because they are typically the quickest to complete. Completing these four activities will earn you four Caches and four Restored Coffer Keys.
personally i do Spreading The Light, Awaken The Machine, Pact Quest and finally the Weekly, as i pick WQs and then do the Pact Quest, as 5 WQs will fill the bar and then i just need one more along the way.
machine world soul and the normal weekly quest for it is 2 chests for 1 event, then spreading the light and theatre is probably fastest/easiest for alts that dont get world quest rep.
@@Josh-mu7qy because if not new currencies, then it would be through old currencies which not only dont fit the expansion theme, but then people who have stockpiled that old currency will just cash it in to get way past everyone else. this happened with Valor back in the day, which is why it was retired after MoP and then after SL again when they were preparing the new system for DF.
@@UltimateGamerCC who said we had to use old currencies? Maybe just make a new system that isn't so convoluted? We don't need "adventurer -> myth" tracks because we already have item levels. Item upgrades could be done more simply as well.
I have been having a blast getting my ilvl up to 616 without having to group up and do M+ at all! 😅 Sorry guys but y’all have made that scene toxic asf and it’s about time we have another way to get ilvl with out being subjected to that shit
I don’t understand why all content creators indicate the use of crafted gear in solo content. You need a crafter to complete and will likely spend out the nose for mats and the crafter fee. Unless you want to spend all the extra time leveling 2 professions to craft certain items yourself. This would be the only why I would consider it to be solo.
My biggest issue is sticking with a main. I started with a feral druid, have an 80 warlock, hunter, mage and DK also, all over 585+ and I'm struggling with who to focus on lol
lol i know the feeling, just pick one and hunker down until that character is geared up. if you got more free time then do a second one. i'm doing my Ret Pally main and all my Tanks first as they'll have the easiest time, not to mention they can unlock features for my other alts like discounts on Keys and Upgrades.
@@Loreignss i'm disabled and have no job, so i know the feeling. my daily playtime runs up to at least 6-8 hours. sometimes more IF i feel up to playing more, eventually i do switch it up with some RU-vid, Minecraft or Fallout NV Modded.
I love the the TWW addon. I work 9hours a day, going to the gym etc. and iam able to play the game without falling miles behind. That was the problem with the old dlcs and that’s why I quit wow 3 years ago
I really appeciate the solo content option, I have a 1 year old so I don’t have a lot of time to play and even when I do I still need to be able to step away quickly. I don’t want to brick someone’s key (or my own) by having to leave mid dungeon
I wish that most of the gearing option has weekly reset time. It's so frustrating that I have 2/3hrs per day for a game and just cant catch up with my guildmates, because they doing so much every day, that after one week they're 610+ and I'm still 595 xd
If only I could run black temple more than once for a shot at additional gear lol didn't have much luck during the raid (BUT my hero piece was a helm, which Ineeded so that led me to no complaints lol).
that is not exactly true, you will need decent gear to do T8 as a Tank, but it IS a whole lot easier. DPS should focus on DoTs and Kiting with Heals should do the same if they can. i recommend buying +Speed enchants and Buffs from the AH.
that will come as you gear mostly, but that is intended to keep players from neckbearding to easy gear cap. Snuffling helps with getting Valorstones as do WQs.
For anything up to M6? No. But after that, the gear is better, KSM mount, KSH (does it have a xmog this time?), and portals. M+ still has things to chase beyond "entry level" gear. Delves seem OP now, but that's only because the expac is a mere 3 weeks old. The LONG TERM reality is it's basic gear. M+ and Heroic Raiding will still be a better option.
Gunna be honest, it isn't cheap to level up a craft this expansion. Skill ups cost either time harvesting, or money on the AH. Going from skill 50-100 tends to require rare recipes or deeep into the specialization trees (which also tend to cost sparks). Getting specialization points is hell this time around, some crafts patron orders can cost 40-60k to complete. No one is buying 90% of what you are crafting on the AH, which means it is all at a net loss. I would leave it to other people, You make way more money selling materials anyway.
This… Kelani provides some outstanding information, but oversimplifies how complex, time gated, and expensive it is to get to the crafting levels required to make your own gear
Delves are still warped, better but some classes will struggle where others stomp, that's a bit frustrating. They got better but they can still be really frustrating to have a random hit you for 500k+ dmg. A random mob at that, a non elite. They shouldn't be easy, but they shouldn't be tedious either.
Delves arent really that hard, you just have to play smarter. remember to look through your kit and use what is available to you in endgame. i recommend buying +Speed enchants for easier Kiting, dont faceroll the high end Delves.
Delves are still scuffed though. Some almost feel bricked and some are laughably easy. It kinda sucks spending 30 or 40 mins on a delve only to realise that it's not going to work. I know, skill issue, etc. The point is why are some delves a cakewalk and some impossible with everything else staying the same plus no feedback on what you're actually doing wrong.
I got pants once, on an alt - one out of 40ish characters. They do exist, they are just rare enough they're not really worth bothering with. Standard Blizzard, they are so jealous of their imaginary crap, it just matters so effing much to them they can't let it go.
While you didn't talk about it, you can also solo dungeons with NPCs. However, I tried this and was disappointed in how bad it was. The NPCs were no help at all. I was doing 10 times the dmg of the NPC dmg dealers, the healer was no help at all and the tank kept losing aggro. with the baddies coming after me. The gear is normal lvl so its not an option I would recommend. Maybe that's why you left it out.
Or like me. I thought I'd try having one piece crafted. Mats, 50k. Don't have that kind of gold to piss away on a piece of gear that's not even legendary or anything.
@@reudig123lol4 Trouble is, even if you do professions, there's not that much gold in them for average players, you've gotta be in all the right places at all the right times...
0:33 funny timing: "...without having to take part in any kind of group content." - video literally shows group content (i know it's just a world boss, it just looked funny for me :D)
I think delve weekly Cheshire is bugged. When I do my first delve of the week at tier 8. It says on the vault I can get 580 something and need to do tier 2 to upgrade.
It annoys the living shit out of me that Blizzard made delves so ridiculously easy. The fact that so many players cleared lvl 8 delves the first week is laughable. It invalidates so much of the other content.... and yet people complain about solo delving being too hard. Speaking of it... the fact that you can 5 man delves is another joke in itself. And I'm saying this as a guy that has most of his gear from delves and I don't do any raiding or PvP and barely scratched M+ yet. The delve system has ZERO progression. That's the issue right now.
