I've heard the new mercedes and maybe range Rover are doing away with the shiftlock release all together f ing dumbarses. This year discovery has changed it from the console, on top of the engine with the same flimsy plastic type like the jag which I broke with 2 fingers and cost $650aud to fix so now I refuse to touch it. I love your work mate keep it up. Watching from AUSTRALIA you've helped me out so much and I recommend you to so many techs as well.

Most Mercedes out here don’t have a neutral override. I’m not sure why engineers are designing them without neutral overrides or an electronic parking brake release. Thanks for the support and glad the videos help. Hope all is well and be safe out there.

@TowMan127 Mercedes did have an epb override. However, they never put the tool (it appears to be a hex Tbar)in the car nor tell even the techs, yet it written in the owners manual. BMW it built into the red handle for the trans release and extremely well engineered in the fact you'll never be able to put in neutral 1st as you need same tool💯👍👍

@TowMan127 Mercedes like to hide them well. The manual usually explains where it is. Some older ones have the button hidden in plain view at the bottom of the gear indicator panel under 3 it looks like it's nothing until you push on. I've also noticed they're always black and/or through a hole under the panel.

@@dnsv1600 I remember the older Mercedes having releases by the shifters but the newer ones don’t have them from what I’ve noticed. I know most BMWs after 2011 don’t have the neutral override inside the vehicle and now it’s on the transmission itself. Who the heck wants to get under a vehicle to try and get it into neutral

@@dnsv1600 I remember some older models have them under the cover and in front of the shifter and some have a small area at the bottom of the PRND that you can push in and get it to shift. I miss the days of the simplicity 😂
