This hack works! I recently upgraded from Janome to Bernina 570QE. I purchased the low shank adapter for my Bernina so I could use my extensive collection of Janome presser feet. It works! Just watch your needle position because it’s not a 100% match up. Takes a little extra attention and doesn’t work perfectly on all feet but well worth trying especially if you have a big collection of non-Bernina favorites. Some feet adapt better than others.
While I fully agree with saving money, the quality of Bernina Presser Feet is unmatched....particularly the # 57 foot. The replacement gated feet are cheap and the flange bends ensuring that your 1/4" will be anything but. But, that is probably the only foot that I would be a snob about---the other feet used with an adapter are perfectly acceptable in quality/performance and of course $$$!
So great to see you're back. You have been missed. I sympathize with the Bernina problem. It's almost as bad for Kenmore super high shank attachments. I paid $150.00 for a walking foot. I hope you and yours are well.
This really does look like a money saver. I shelled out £35 uk pounds for an invisible zip foot. I hate it! The grooves are too narrow and so it sucks in too much fabric underneath. I’ve read some reviews where others have found the same. I was hoping to use the foot from my Bernina record on my 480 but; it won’t fit! ☹️ Bottom of the foot screws on so is detachable, this could be the solution I’m looking for. Thank you for the video
