Hi thank you for sharing your story. I am a foreign train dentist and I made a video on my RU-vid channel cause I am trying to get license in a different way with you. One more way we can get the license is to go 2-year post grad program. It doesn’t have to coda accredited program if you go Washington states.
Hello!! I'm from India, I'm in my final year of dental school and I'm planning to give NBDE pt 1 next year.... I was so frustrated because nobody was giving any information about the complex process involved in applying n qualifying.... I'm so glad I came across ur channel!!! Thank you so much..... 😭
Aw that is so nice to hear! Thank you! I feel like nobody talks about it because it is SO competitive! There less people talk about it there more chances basically you have. There are so many secrets that I found out and was literally asked not to share! Its very weird. Im gonna share it all, I don't care, it was so hard to find! Everybody is against foreigners here, and if we are against each other, its so scary! Im sorry about my rant! Im very passionate about it:)
@@KCDoesDentistry Hi I'm a Dentist in Southeast Asia that just recently passed NBDE 1. Now I'm back home, a fellow applicant told me that I should have an experience either as a Dental assistant or just shadow a US Dentist and masters degree to improve my personal profile. Should I try to apply directly to a Dental school or should I study in the US in any masters degree so I can work as an assistant for part time? That way I can gain an experience in the USA. I know it is hard to apply for a school admission but not having an immigrant Visa or at least a student Visa makes it much harder just because we don't have any chance of staying long to work as a Dental assistant or shadow a Dentist in the US. Therefore my profile is all experiences I have back in my home country. Please advise. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this information and your experience! I'm from Honduras and I'm searching how to apply for the dentist licence, this is really helpfull I wish you the best 🤗
Thank you for this video! My brother is a dentist from Egypt and I stumbled upon your video looking for general information for him. I'm a pharmacist and while our process is long and exhausting, it's not as complex as yours seems. But, you seem to have multiple options to go with at least, I guess.
You have a very charming personality!! I am preparing for NBDE part 1 and justwatxhibg your videos keep me motivate. Hope to see your new videos soon, they are great!!
Thanks a lot about your useful and valuable video you just guide me , before your video I was confused , I will see the rest of your videos, thanks again
Hello from Albania🥰 I found this video very interesting and informative. I plan on continuing my studies in America too and your channel seems to be very helpful so thank you for sharing your experience with us. Could you please let me know whether there is a limit nr of times of taking the nbde exams?
Hii!!! I'm also a foreign trained dentist from the Dominican Republic and I'm preparing myself for the NBDE part 1, it´s been kinda hard for me how to start studying but your video "how I study for NBDE part 1" motivated me, so, thanks a lot. I'm planning to take it on November next year maybe earlier, don't know yet I'm not a test person so I wanna be well prepared, what do you recommend me?. Thanks again, keep making videos and good luck for you too : )
Oh, that’s so nice to hear! Thank you for nice words! I’m definitely not a test person either, so stressed! Take as much practice tests as you can! Thats the best advice. I even retake the once I’ve already taken just to practice my testing skills. Good luck to you too:)
I wish that this comment will make you happy as you said , be sure you will be very successful , because you have the passion and the kindness , thanks a lot for the the valuable information which you sharing with us ..
Thanks a lot for the video ! adding to what you said after specialty program you can work as a general dentist only after you do a regional board exam.
HI. Awesome video. Doctors don't have to go back to school. They do the United States Medical Licensing Exam and then they may be allowed to enter the match system and be placed in a specialty
Hello KC! how are you doing! I'm a dentist from Tunisia and I have a quick question: what type of evaluation did you submit your diplomas on the Educational Credential Evaluators website (ECE)? The course by course one? And what are the document you submitted
Hello, my name is Orlando. Nice video! I'm from Brazil, but I live in Montréal and I'm doing the process to become a dentist in Canada. The problem is that I really want to live in US, Canada is a little bit cold hahah, so I just start to look for options to became a Dentist in US. I'm going to see your videos to see If I can get all the info that I need. Thank you for sharing you knowledge about this subject. Have a good day
Very informative video. Thankyou for sharing all that you know :) I wanted to know about the work permit after you complete DDS? I'm an Endodontist from India and in the process of deciding to move to US. But I'm apprehensive about work permit after DDS since there's a lot of student loan to pay back.
Well, by work permit i assume you mean the license. After you complete a 2 year program that would grant you a DDS degree in america you can work in any state without any problems
@@KCDoesDentistry i went to rudn too! I finished in 2017 I'm actually from Kenya and returned to Kenya to do my internship. I'm also considering working in the US... Thanks so much for the info Which year did u complete your studies?
Hi there.. I’m currently in my 3rd year of dental school here in Pakistan and it’s kind of like my dream to settle in the US as a dentist. My family’s immigration papers for the US got approved this year and we’ll be giving the interview real soon. But I don’t even know the basics of applying or that there was even more than one program you could apply to get a license there until i saw your video today. This was really helpful and I’m really glad to i got to know about your channel. It’d mean alot if you’d reach out and tell my which program would suit me best if i were to move to the US after my dental degree which I don’t even know what it’s called there but over here it’s called Bachelors In Dental Surgery 😅
Thank you for the very much informative video. Please keep making such videos. They are really insightful. also, I had a question, does Advanced Clinical Training program allow foreign dentists to be able to practice in the United States? Or even AEGD for that case. Because just recently I met a dental overseas counselor and they're saying that I could get into practice after i complete ACT or the AEGD program.

Hi Thanks for your video i'd like to do my speciality in the us, so i have to do speciality licence and i will be able to work in all states, that's right? Are we paid when we are doing the speciality? which exam do we have to pass in order to do start the speciality?
My girlfriend just got a license in general dentistry in Cuba.. she's wanting to practice in the US but she said she will have to go back to school for 3 years is there any way that she can use her current degree in the US?
@@KCDoesDentistry my wife got a call from state called Maine. they said as long as you worked in Canada for three years you can be endorsed and get licence with in two weeks. My question is after she gets the licence can she work for another state like california and washington state
@@gauravsandhu3882 Oh well, great then. As far as I know, to get a license in another state (its called licensure by credentials, you can google it for the state you want), you need to practice on a state issued license for 5 years. I don't know if the years of working in canada would count. You would have to ask the state board you want to practice in, it's a very specific question.
Hello dear I’m from Somalia And graduated and now I will complete my internship soon And I decided to go usa and It’s necessary to get licensed in Maryland how can I get tips that about this exams NBDE And how long it take to get license in Maryland
Hello very kind of you for sharing all the information about mbde , hope the best for you hope you get to pass all your exams, my wife is in the same process of learning all about the exam, do you have any info of how much does it cost to take it? I check online in my state they do it ones a month , but there is no pricing till you apply for the test. Any book recommendations i see alot listing on ebay for mbde tools books other students notes but we are not sure what to bay. Thanks alot ones again thanks for all you do . God bless you.
Thank you for watching! I have a whole video where I talk about all the books out there, I recommend you watch it, its called how I study for NBDE part 1 here on my channel. Right now Im uploading a video about how i registered for NBDE, it has all of the costs of the exam and the additional costs associated with it, I recommend you watch that too:)
Which of these programs is best if one wants to do surgical residency in America as a foreign-trained dentist?. I am a final year dental student from Nigeria.
Hi ... you mentioned that one way to get licenced is by passing the board exams and then enrolling in a training programme for internationally trained dentists... How long is this programme...
I finally found a video that talks about what I’ve been searching for for too long thank you so much 💕💕 But i’m confused a little bit I’m a French dental student in grade 3 rn There are only 2 years left for my graduation and i’m looking for specializing in the USA as an orthodontist doctor or maxillofacial surgeon Can you tell me what should i do especially for those specialities plz ? Thnks 💕💞
Hi! Im glad you liked my video! Thanks for watching. Yeah, specialty programs are available for foreign trained dentist (I wouldn't hold my breath for MFS, very hard to get in without american diploma). After graduation you just have to take TOEFL and apply. It's pretty straight -forward. You can check PASS application website for more specific info. It's a centralized online application for every residency program in the country. Good luck!
Hi! No, orofacial pain is not considered a specialty by CODA, so you cannot get a license based on that. If you would have completed a pediatric dentistry program in the US for example which is one of the specialties you would be able to get a license to practice in just a few states
Thank you for you Video. My future wife is from Honduras and she is planing on coming to NYC. What are the steps. I think she can get a temp license then take NBDE . Is the license only giving in English?
It strongly depends on the state, but generally no. I will make a video about it in a future, Im applying for one myself and i will talk in depth about it. Im studying for the exam now, so dont have much time for youtube, but ill be back asap.
My daughter who has done M.D.S. in India and has one year experience is now in Knoxville, accompanying her husband. She is on dependent visa. What are the future prospects for her to get dental licence or other ways to start some work at there.
Thanks so much for your video. I am a foreign trained dentist from Bangladesh. Planning to get my license in California, USA. Please let me know where to get the information about the limited dental license.
hi! Honestly I dont know whats dependent visa is, but Im sure everything I said in the video applies:) To try and apply for any college or a license you have to be a permanent resident.
Hey! I was confused between nbde part 1 and INBDE. As for international students the last date is 31st may 2020. Its better to apply for which exam? So confused
Hello!Your video is great and very helpfull😊 I want to ask you if you know, does someone need to pay for these specific international trained dentist programs that you mentioned in the first way of getting a license after passing the NBDE exams? And if yes,do you know how do they cost?
Hello! They are very expensive, around 40k-60k a year. Foreign trained dentist only have to study for two years but they pay full 4 year tuition to the university. It’s very unfair compared to American students but you have to remember that price is one of the factors of the process of elimination.
@@KCDoesDentistry Thanks for your reply! And after completing dental school in the US, is it relatively easy to obtain the working visa as a foreigner?
Hello! Thank you for information! I'm dental student from Russia. Do you know what are states allowed international dentist go on specialist program (Endodontics for example) and then get a license?
(Illinois dental board).
No Im not. At least not this year. I can't practice without diploma from american college in MA, and I want to stay here, so it doesnt really make sense for me
Hey hi kc! 😀 what’s the difference bn residency program and dmd ?? Requirements for both programs are almost similar ...!!!! What’s the major difference bn them..?? Just the degree holder status or ...??? Thanks in advance! 🤗👍🏻
@@KCDoesDentistry I am looking for websites about this but nothing to find :( If you can tell me what kind of advantage about PhD, I would be really happy. Thank you!!!
Hi and thank you for this video I am working as a dentist in my country (azerbaijan) and satisfied with my job recently i won dv green card and hesitating on moving to usa with my family how likely it is to find a related job in States and is age 40 a problem Will you give me some inf about it or links where i can get this is an opportunity for children so i dont wanna miss but seems too difficult ....
Hey! Hello to azerbaijan! Great country! Im from russia:) To be completely honest, its extremely difficult, especially for a person who worked for a long time because to pass the NBDE here you have to remember all the sciences you learned in dental school, which was basically impossible for me and I learned it just 5 years ago, I cant even imagine trying to learn it all basically from scratch again. Second of all, schools are extremely expensive, no matter which path you take, for at least two years you will not get any pay and will be paying 60K a year (approx. depends on school). Besides, you are always the second choice after americans when it comes to applying to schools, which is not a great feeling. Foreign trained dentists are absolute cash cows here, they pay twice as much as americans. We study only for two years but have to pay full tuition. I don't think the age means anything here so it should be the least of your concerns. A lot of people work as dental assistants, but of course, it isn't preferable. To conclude, its more or less difficult/expensive depending on the state, but overall, it isnt going to be an easy ride.
Hi..I am a dentist in my country.I want to move for being dental assistant in Canada...My choice is Georgian College and my question is:: What I should choose Dental.assistant certificate it takes 1 year or dental assistant diploma program which it takes 2 years..? ..which one? My goal find surgery assistant job and during work pass dentist exams and become a dentist im Canada...thansk for reading..if you have any good advice for choosing best Colleges and programs there.I am ready to hear these
Hi! If you mean a Dental Hygienist license it's a whole different conversation and it is much easier to get. I personally didnt look into it, but its not a doctors degree, so you shouldnt have a problem
None are really good. But you know what they say: "the best state is the one that gives you a license". Otherwise there are no "best" but mostly "worst"
@@KCDoesDentistry I heard that not all states have the option for foreign trained dentists to get their license. can you please compile a list of states and their rerquirements perhaps for a future video. again thank you for your content
Hello dear, Thank you for sharing everything about this difficult process! I am a non American citizen trying to get the nbde and DDS. If I complete those steps can I work and live in the United States? Thank you
I saw that most pre-dental students major in biology and science related subjects. I’m a biology student in Turkey and I was wondering if there is any chance for me to attend a dental school in US 👉🏻👈🏻
California is an annoying state to get a license in. They have a very strict policy, so a two year verification program is required. Sorry I didnt answer for so long! Just got back to my computer:)
hello, i am from cairo and think you are awesome. My advice to you if you would take it just focus on one path of working. Dont waste your efforts on pursuing many paths.
